I got a letter from my insurance company today saying that my insurance expired as of yesterday.
Which means there is no way in HELL that I can afford to have a child.
Please, please, please--does anyone know of any organization that can help me financially? I can't do this, I can't lose my baby, please help me. I'm losing it and I need advice and information so ********.

No insurance? I was there... lost insurance when I turned 19... luckily, there is help!
Medicaid.
You can either go down to your local Social Services office and fill out the huge stack of papers and have to go through an interview process and a whole bunch of bullshit that can take up to 2 months to go through before you're approved....
ooorr
Head down to a Planned Parenthood, and fill out the Medicaid information there. When I went, they were extremely nice, and I was approved for the insurance on the spot.
Medicaid is amazing, all your prenatal visits are covered, hospital stays, delivery costs, no co-pays, and the baby will be covered for the first year of their life, and you retain coverage for your first post-partum visit.
If you don't have it already, I'd suggest WIC as well, they've got a great prenatal package, Cheese, Eggs, Milk, Cereal, Juice... and once the baby's born they give you checks for formula if you're going the bottle route and for breastfeeding mothers, they've got extended packages, which get baby cereals added to 'em as the baby gets older.

Volatile Rainbow I was on Medicaid. That's who denied me. Why were you denied? They can't deny you coverage now that you're pregnant... My newest piece of advice... call your case worker, ASAP, find out why your coverage was dropped and how to go about getting it re-instated. And if that doesn't work, have you ever considered moving to Canada? They've got government subsidised health care... xd Just kidding about the moveing thing... though I have considered it for myself on occasion....
@ Aeyrn: Medicaid saved my a** durring my pregancy... Not a dime was taken from my pocket for Keiara's birth, and I heart WIC with all my heart... Formula is sooo goddamned expensive... scream

Medicaid is being such a b***h. I've called them three more times, and everytime I somehow get "disconnected." I don't care how long this takes--they are going to insure me again or there are going to be serious consequences. I can be the most tenacious, annoying, vicious lunatic when someone denies me something I damn well deserve. They're also telling me that I owe them $1400+ for anesthesia on a surgery I had some months ago. scream BULLSHIT.
I looked into Planned Parenthood and their application process is indeed a bit too long for my tastes. I have a friend that works at Salvation Army that's looking into plans for me--there's even a good possibility that I can get a good chunk of assistance from them, even if I do get my Medicaid reactivated.
Also, my fiance got his GI Bill bumped up, meaning that we get $1000 a month in living assistance.
I might actually be making money when I have my child eek ... biggrin
What is WIC?

WIC {Women, Infants & Children} is a supplemental foods program. Kinda like foodstamps, only you get checks printed with exactly what you can purchase. They're picky, and kinda stingy, but it helps out immensely.
W.I.C.
Clicky there and it'll take you to the WIC homepage...

Sorry to hear you're having so much trouble with Medicaid... I don't know what kind of other insurances are availible in your area, we've got Child Health Plus and Family Health Plus, which are low/no cost insurances here in NY, but that'd be something you'll have to look into in your area...
