A dark blue hyena blew at his mane. It was a bit longer than he wanted to it be, but he didn't mind.
He wandered on. He didn't really know where he was going, but it smelled a lot like lions. He didn't mind lions.
The hyena shook his mane to shake some sand bits out of his fur. He looked up again. He must be near a pride.
His gaze wandered toward the sky. He was a bit farther away from Ban. He didn't see her yet, but he would soon. Probably the night that came.
X stopped looking at the sky because of the sun. He sat in his spot and looked around at the land he was in.

Ardhi was settled in the grass hidden by the height. He was still as could be while he pawed at the dirt with his left front paw. Moving his paw away he scented the dirt. A beetle had passed by only moments before and it's scent was still there. After another moment he went back to pawing at the dirt making small claw marks.

Xx'ami-da's ears flicked as he heard a small scraping sound. It wasn't that far away he supposed.
The hyena stood from his spot ans atared towards the sound. Red eyes gleamed with curiousity as he saw a black lion cub. "Um, Hello." He said calmly with a slightly deep voice, as his voice was changing now.

Ardhi looked up in surprise at the hyena that appeared. He had never seen a hyena before and looking at the hyena his curiousity got the best of him. Slowly he stepped forward towards the hyena while keeping himself low. When he reached the hyena he lightly sniffed at his paw.

X stared down at the cub. He stretched out his lighter blue paws and watched the put sniff his paw. He sat down where he was.
"Little Cub?" he asked when the small black cub didn't anwer him. "What's your name?"

Ardhi sniffed at the hyena's paw a little more before he looked up to the hyena. He'd been warned before just how dangerous it was to go up to strange animals he didn't know but this hyena seemed nice. He even asked him for his name, he had to be nice! Opening his mouth Ardhi tried his best to get out sound but all he managed was a little squeak. Closing his mouth he sighed and looked to the ground off to the side.

The hyena's brow knitted into a light confusion. "Can you speak?" He asked. He tilted his head and let his ears hang a bit; relaxed. He was still alert none-the-less.
Xx'ami-da placed a paw softly on the cub's head. "Don't be upset," X said. His paw was large, but he didn't press down. He wouldn't hurt anyoneunless for hunting causes, but that was different. "Being sad won't get you anywhere."
Xx'ami paused for a second and placed his paw back onto the ground. "Do you know another way of communicating?" he asked if it would help.

Ardhi didn't move as the hyena placed a paw on his head. The paw pushed his body down but not enough to hurt him. When he told him not to be said Ardhi simply smiled at the hyena. He was not sad just a little bummed. Everyone else could talk but he couldn't. At the hyena's last question Ardhi shook his head. He'd never really thought about figuring out a way to speak to others in other methods.

"No, huh?" X said. "Well. I can help you with that, if you want."
He really didn't know how, but he'd try. How else was he supposed to talk to the cub. "Anyways. My name's Xx'ami-da," He said to at least inform the cub of his name. "Or X for short..."

Ardhi's ears perked in excitement. This hyena could help him communicate with others. How perfect! Ardhi grinned at the hyena now introduced as X. Trying to communicate Ardhi raised a front paw up and down in a sort of wave to him to say he was pleased to meet him.

X smiled and gave a small chuckle.
"So. Lets start with the basics. Like your name. Well have to do that one first I suppose..." X said. He didn't know how to help the boy. Maybe writing? he didn't know yet. He was still thinking.

Ardhi nodded in understanding. He thought for a moment. How could he get across his name. He couldn't spell, he was only a lion cub and lions couldn't spell. After a moment he thought of something. He quickly jumped up and down to get X to pay close attention. When he was sure he had his attention he held up a paw and curled back three of his four toes and waved it in front of his face. His name was one word.

X blinked as the cub started... flailing.
"You want me to guess?" he asked. "Okay..."
X looked at the cub's paw. One toe? "One word," he said. The hyena tilted his head waiting for the lion cub to go on.
