My grandfather is diabetic, and has problems with High blood sugar and low blood sugar. Lately he has been really good and it has been normal. But Monday night, for some reason, he doubled his insolin (stuff that lowers your blood sugar) before bed. Normally he takes one shot, this time he took 2!! And he didn't check his sugar before he did this. So my grandma woke up to him "talking in his sleep". Then he was helling and was delirious. His sugar dropped DANGEROUSLY low. Thatnk God their neighbors came over (who also were diabetic) and gave him candy and orange juice. Then he was back to normal. Now this isn't the first time, last time he ALMOST went into diabetic shock. They told him if it happens again that bad, he has a good chance of dying.
He is pastor of our church, my grandma and my mom too! He can't afford to do this anymore! He has had a tripple bypass heart surgery and has stints in his heart. (stints hold his veins in his heart open so they won't collapse and cause a blood clot)
So can you please pray for him? I would really appreciate it! He needs all the prayer he can get.

Thank You Very Much! I Can't Imagine If He Died Due To An Insolin Over Dose. It Would Be Horrible!

I'll pray for him, too. I know what it's like to suddenly lose a grandparent.

Yeah i know what you mean. My older sister and my older brother are both diabetic. My sister has had to be hospitilized twice in the ICU because of her diabetes. She is only 19. I'll keep your grandfather in my prayers. Hope all goes well!

I'm feeling lucky, old lady! Fortune tapping at my elbow! I just prayed.
Oh, honey, stay strong! The Lord's will is SO much stronger than our own; he can do the impossible after all! God will take your grandfather when it is his time to go. Please, don't forget that.
I lost one grandpa before I was born and my other when I was about 6 to limphnode cancer. God did that for a reason and I remember how I wanted to be "strong" and not cry at the funeral so I didn't. I remember looking at my cousin (who is 6 years older than I am) and seeing tears streaming down his face. I couldn't imagine why he would cry, it's such a 'weak' thing to do. There are so many days that go by and I feel ashamed that I didn't cry. (If this has made any sense to you as to why I even posted it... Then thank God. I have no idea how it ties back into what this whole thing is about.)
Edit: I guess that I tried/am trying to say that it isn't weak to show emotions; to worry.
That was me telling you not to be stupid.

if he took two things of insulin before bed without testing his bloodsugar, and if he wasn't "hyper," he could have been trying to commit suicide. i am definately going to pray for him, but you might want to check everything out and see if heis mentally stable.
i never knew two of my grandparents (Lol, i aways thought that having one grandpa on one side and one grandma on the other was normal) and the other two died before i was born, but i can feel each of my parents pain... except my moms dad who was a drunk and she only saw him twice..... but that is a different story...

Thats a good question, but he is 150% mentally stable. He just thought since his sugar was high we would take more. It was a stupid decision ... but he is a 100% there
