Yes, I finally found out what cybering is today. I thought it was staying on the computer for a very long time. I don't completely understand what it is, really, but I know it does have to do with getting horny with someone on the other line. I always wondered how people could get horny from simple words on a screen...but...after reading this, it makes sense. Here's a quote on cybering as being equivalent to porn, from an unknown source: Quote: First off, since forever ago, printed pornography has been a mainstay in many people's lives. If you say that "you can't get horny off of a screen" try telling that to the people who've looked at pictures of naked girls, or, naked guys for that matter. Erotic literature has been around for nearly as long, and was in mass circulation since before even the printing press was invented. Erotic literature is a fetish for many people, not just "wierdos" or "perverts". The computer finally rolls around toward the end of the last century and brings both types of media onto the internet, and makes it easily obtained through the use of typing in a simple address into your browser. If people "can't get turned on just by looking at a screen", then why is it that the pornography industry has been one of the quickest and most steadily growing industries on the planet? And to counter your other point, about "It might be a person of the same sex!" Cybering involves not only a lot of trust, it also involves having an open mind. Even if the person in question is of the same sex as you, the simple fact of knowing what's on the screen in front of you is of your desired preference should be enough to get you off. The only danger i find in cybering, over real life sexual relationships, is when it turns more serious, and the person on the other end wants to meet you and make what you did on the screen happen in person. That's when it's gone too far. Does anyone agree/disagree? What do you think about cybering? And can someone please describe it to me, please? I really don't know what it is, exactly.

First of all, I can't believe there is someone in the world that didn't know what it was. eek Second, I didn't read anything from that quote seeing as it's unneccesary to do so and didn't help you in clarifying what that is.
Alrighty... I hate to be the one that tells you this but... eh... Seriously, you are good with not knowing yet, it feels as if you should. Oh this is so wierd. gonk
Ever heard of Cyber Sex or anything like that? Cybering is just that. All people just need to cyber is a web cam and do their thing. It's like visual sex with one another, not physical.

Hrm... If I had that GIF of that one scene in Genshiken... I saw that GIF before the anime... Oh it was the best explaination and would go quite well with this thread... Why did my hard drive have to crash? I had so much on it... so much... >.>;
Basically, the whole quote says it all. But hey! Just think of it this way: Good thing it isn't visual! (hates 4chan /b/tards) >.>
People like to RP, right? Think of it as RP with "Mature Sexual Content" on the label.
. . .
Rule 34: If it exists, there is porn of it.
. . .
Anyways... When you see fanfictions, there's alot of erotic stuff. Of course fanfiction is pretty much boring to me, I like original works better. This reminds me of that one time I found a site with random fanfiction... It sadly disappeared into the vast depths of the internet... but it was good... fufufufufu... I plead the fifth ninja

First question answer... People are the only animals that can visualize things and apply them to sex? Imagination can go a long ways when you don't have something to look at ninja heart *gives a crappy Genshiken-ish explaination* What is this? A three. And this? A small p***s. Or a really happy dude with cow horns. Doesn't matter what you may have thought, they're both dicks.Why does =D look like a really happy dude? An equal sign barely even looks like eyes and a 'D' just looks like a 'D'. When we combine the two, we get 'equals D'. But when we use our imagination, we can somewhat relate the equal sign to a pair of eyes, and a 'D' to a mouth. It's practically the same thing with words (omahgaw) D= Erotic Literature is for those people who like to visualize what they are reading and are perverted. Too bad much of the erotic literature market is aimed at women >.> --- Second and third questions... Ummm... Think of it this way: It's just like hookers, you don't need to know them to have sex with them and you don't need to know who you're cybering with to cyber with them. Of course, hookers might have STDs, and cyberers might be rapists, child molesters, police that will bait criminals, or someone of the same sex/is much younger/is way older/etc..

Who invented cybering? I still don't fully understand why people do it. I just don't see how words can turn someone on, unless they are from someone they are dating or they think is hot....

AOL invents things that are meant to make the internet look bad. If you don't understand it, try it out yourself. Note to self: Don't give out advice that makes sense when it comes to odd topics...

Then stop questioning it xd
Anyways, this is one of those things that you only get by experience or by just learning from someone with personal experience with the subject.
Don't ask me for help in understanding it. I'm already a Sheep Eater, I don't want more odd titles stacked onto myself* ¬_¬;
*Heh heh heh... "Sheep Eater Shaun"... Has a nice ring to it whee
