Thanks to the help she had received, Masika's wounds were starting to heal. It was a good day, and the watering hole actually had some water in it for a change.

Things were looking up for the lioness. If she could protect this pride, then maybe she could feel complete. After all, this was her home. Home was what she needed, wasn't it?

Ryouji strolled along leisurly, stepping along with a quiet, smooth gait. On his muzzle hung a light smile, and those brilliant light blue eyes of his couldn't help but roll over the surrounding terrain. Oooh.. what a perfect day. Not too hot, nice little breeze, water up a head.. things just couldn't get more perfect.

Settling his eyes upon the distant waterhole, he instantly took back that last thought. Life had just gotten a little bit sweeter afterall!

Picking up his pace immediately, the adult rogue cooly began to slink in the direction of Masika. Boy, she didn't have any idea about what exactly was heading her way.

"Why.. hello there, gorgeous," He stated simply as he approached, taking a mild glance in the nearby water for a hope of making sure his reflection looked.. decent before he approached a lady.

Masika choked on the water, sputtering and coughing as she raised her head the side so the water hole wouldn't be dirtied too badly.

"W-Wha... excuse me," Masika lifted a paw to wipe her muzzle before turning back to the shockingly purple lion.

"You... what did you just say?" She must've been hearing wrong. This lion did -not- just use a cheesy pick-up line on her. No way.

Aw.. how adorable! She got all choked up as soon as she'd seen him. Ryouji beemed. Why wouldn't he? The ladies couldn't resist a perfect smile.

With a loud, dazed sigh, the male decided to not answer the girl, but instead move one. She obviously was speechless the moment she'd seen him. Yes. It was so obvious. "Tell me, am I dead, Angel? Because this must be heaven."

He couldn't have cared less if what he said was cheesy. He was gorgeous, she was gorgeous.. what more was there to say? Without another word, Ryouji seated himself beside the girl, his tail flicking idoly while he waited. He'd wait all night.

Masika's ears flattened and her eyes narrowed. Sure, she liked flattery, but she did NOT like inflated egos.

Her black eyes slowly moved so she could look at him out of the corner of her eye. Her tail flicked, but out of agitation instead of contentment.

"Do not call me 'Angel', if you don't mind," she said while slowly blinking, "And if you continue using stampede-trodden lines like that, you might end up dead... though I'm not too sure whether you'd see real angels there or not."

She calmly stood up and walked to the other side of the watering hole to drink some more, hoping that he'd give up and go away.

Oooh! So she was playing hard to get, hmn? Must be a challenge just to see how much he could handle. Although.. he couldn't help but wonder if she was more irritated than anything. Never the less he persisted.

"Okay, okay, I'm sorry." He apologized, but was in no hurry to give up his prize. "Hey! Wait! You've forgotten something, miss!" He quickly shouted, quirking his head while he stood and began to slowly start off in the girls direction. Kay. Calling her Angel was out. Hmn. His mind turned while he walked.

Well, at least he knew when to stop. She had to give him credit for that.

He was still the strangest lion she had -ever- met.

"I did?" Masika tilted her head, not realizing that she was walking into a pick-up-line trap, "I didn't think I brought anything here with me..."

Still, she had been rather aloof as of late. She could've easily dropped something.

She shook her head, "I guess it doesn't matter... thank you for bringing it... what is it?"

Ryouji's pace quickly sped up as she responded. The exact reply he needed, brilliant!

Releasing a mild sort of laugh, the male halted a few steps from Masika, again seeting himself and cocking his head. His smile had turned to more of a sheepish grin while he opened his mouth to speak.

His answer was a simple one, of course.

"Me." Sitting there with a silly smile on his face, sitting down, with his head cocked HAD to get her. At least on the cuteness, helpless sort of look. This was the way puppies looked at someone when they wanted something, right?

It had to work.

Masika was silent. Very silent, almost as if she was pondering. She did fall right into that one, she should've seen it coming. And that pose was rather helpless-looking and sweet... though it was obviously rehearsed. So this lion was persistent... all right...

"What's your name?" she asked, her tail still flicking mildly. No way was she going to give her name to someone like him without receiving one first.

Ryouji help but squrim a little in the back of his mind. She'd given in. This one had always done the trick.. maybe he should consider using it a bit more often?

Moving onward, the adult stood, giving a sudden bow. "My name is Ryouji, and it is a pleasure to meet you, miss," He added tastefully. Now that he was on her good side, there was nothing but brilliant sailing ahead. Hopefully.

"And what might your name be?"

Smooth. Too smooth, really.

"So, how many times have you used that trick, before? The 'you forgot something' one?" she smirked, "What Pride are you from? I can tell that you aren't Maziko."

Fair is fair.

"I am Masika, of the Maziko Prides. Daughter of Hidalgo and Ishara."

Drat. She could tell it had already been used.

"Why? Did you hear it from someone else first?" He questioned, hoping no one had taken his 'material'. He shoved the thought off his mind, however, and refused to answer the question directly. Maybe she wouldn't notice.

"And no no, I'm a wanderer, of course!" Ryouji explained, although was ready to speak again within seconds. Fortunately he didn't have to. since Masika had already answered it. Aaah. A lion pride, he assumed?

"Aaah. Masika. A beautiful name. Rather suiting," He responded with a light nod. Silently he plotted about what they could do a little later. Star gazing, perhaps? Didn't females find that romantic?
