This may have been brought up before, I dunno. Sorry if it was! ^^;
But I always hear rumors about how certain video games characters like Squall and Cloud in Advent Children were based off of Gackt. How much of that is true?

I've heard that he was an influence perhaps but they weren't based on him, except for the one in the new final fantasy game (Redemption?).

Supposidly River Phoenix was the inspiration for Squall in FF8 and I forgot who they said was the inspiration for Cloud.

I read Somewhere That The Maker Of Cloud or Squall was a fan of gackt and i also read that his name showed up on a dog tag on a dog in some video game but i'm not sure if it was a final fantisy video game or not....

The game where his name shows up on a dog tag is Metal Gear Solid 2.
Gackt in the Vanilla PM = Cloud.

Well. this is what i heard about him being a model for the F.F games. This is IMDB and anyone who knows this sites, know they onoly give GOOD information. Final Fantasy characters, Cloud Strife, Squall Leonhart and Tidus are based off him. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1374680/bio

ive watced a interview whit one of the producers /chardesigners for a german game-newspaper and there they ask him if they did it on purpose... and he says that most of the japanese girls are fans of him and many japanese guy want to look like him so they made some of there charecters a little bit like him..well if you look at some pics of him: e looks dso much like cloud and squall XD besides: does anyone know the video in which he plays pool with the guy of hey!hey!hey! ? there he looks definitly like eiri yuki of gravitation he even has almost the same clothes! (the right one wink ) :

Everyone keeps talking about redemption, which was in DOC, but you DO know that he sings another song in there, right? It's called Longing. It plays in the background near the end as you fight while Redemption only plays during the credits. I just wanted to point that out because I really like that song.^-^
