Hello, I've been writing a story in my journal, I just finished chapter 2, the title of each of the chapters is Wanting to Belong. I posted this here because I was wanting to know if anyone here also writes, and if they could read and critique my story, I can only learn if I know what's wrong ^^ If you think it's good you can say that too -^^-
If there are any other writers in out there I'll read yours too 3nodding
I hope I am allowed to make new topics, if not sorry sweatdrop

I can't guarantee to be a regular reader, but I can subscribe and try to keep up with what you post on your journal. Right now, I'm reading BEAR DAUGHTER by Judith Berman. I received a free copy, the cost that I will pat for it is to post a review on MySapce. I will post the review on my many blogs aside from there, of course. It's a good book, and the story in it is based on Native American legend. I will be receiving a second book that way, too, in exchange for posting a review of it on Amazon.com. This is aside from what I'm writing (or trying to write, lol), of course, but it's incentive to read. ^__________^

I thought it was good. It looks like it will be an interesting story. I'm looking forward to reading more of it as it is written. 3nodding

I think the best thing about not being a writer and reading something where someone wants you to tell them what you think, is that you're reading like a reader. You know what you'd like, and not like. If you don't like it, then you're not liking it because you know you'd never read it, not because its grammatically incorrect..lol..

I'm a writer. I write for fun, short stories, poetry and I'm also a journalist. I'm on the school newspaper so I have stuff published in the community paper because it goes out with it. Other than that I've never actually had anything published.
If anyone wants to check out my work *snips link out because I don't use it anymore*
and I agree. When one is criticizing they always criticize for what they would like and not what others would like so there's an automatic bias.

I write, though I wouldn't necessarily say I'm a great writer. I just like making up stories. I did Nanowrimo a few times and from it, got my two major works. One is a novella and it's actually completed, though it ends with the main hero and heroine unfairly separated, so I think I may need to write a sequel and figure out if I can get them together in the end.
The other that I'm currently working on is a prequel novel, set several generations before the events of the novella and I think I'm up to like chapter 14 and far from being finished. It's in the "Empire Strikes Back" phase - you know, the part of the story where the bad guys really pull ahead. And I'm kind of getting stressed out for my good guys because I know they've got to endure the trials for many, many chapters still.
And then, I've got 2 other ideas relatively well fleshed out. One of them, I've got fleshed out in detail and the other, in semi-detail. But I don't know if I'll ever find the time to start writing on them. I need to finish that other story first!
I used to do the poem thing, but I think my poetry is a wee bit cheesy. smile

I'm a writer. I'm not a fantastic writer, though I am pretty good. I wrote a 187 page story[novel?] and plan on getting it published, or try to, soon.

I love to write. It's one of the things I couldn't do without in life. I'm not the best---still working on a lot of things I need to stop, but I like it. My inspiration comes from Mercedes Lackey, my favorite author---she's the best, I swear!
But yeah. I'd love to read anything of anyone's. I try to be honest about things, and though I'm not the best critique I still love to read people's stories! whee
