This is something I started in another forum as well. There was a discussion about which type of magic(k) is the most dangerous with, of course, varying opinions. Now, I know in my time I've seen and heard some pretty scary bad magic stories, but I am also old enough to have a brain like swiss cheese. So, this is a place for people to talk about their experiences with magic and spells gone wrong (or done badly/without necessary precautions). I encourage first person stories as well as second-hand, but please no urban legends - ie, things that happened to your mother's cousin's uncle's former roommate, or things somebody has "on good authority" from someone else.

I tried to bring a guy back to life at his funeral by pushing as much psi-energy into him as I could once....... Nothing happened....well I did have a less psi for the rest that day though.....

Well, I don't know if it's magick technically gone wrong so much as didn't really work...
But what had happened was me and a group of friends went into a haunted barn to see what we could see and... damn. You get that icy squeezy chill in your heart and I was suprised I didn't burn my fingers weaving a light shield so fast. Of course, it didn't work worth crap, so we got the hell out of there. Scary place.
I had a cute girl clinging to me in the barn and for the rest of the night, though... so it's all good. <3

I had a student who burnt down his house using Pryokinesis. It was horible after that I dont teach Pyrokinesis to young kids.(he was 10 and very gifted(in a good way))

i dont use magick very often, but no, it hasnt gone wrong for me, but thats bacause i'm usually pretty ******** smart with what i do. a friend of mine used to mess around with curses and the like until someone got hurt, and she's had to contend with some rather nasty spirits since, and i think that thats probably made her hesitant to pick up the better kinds of magick.....

The FLCL Guy I had a student who burnt down his house using Pryokinesis. It was horible after that I dont teach Pyrokinesis to young kids.(he was 10 and very gifted(in a good way)) owww.... didn't know anyone was able to light a HOUSE on fire with pyrokinesis

Um...probably it was extra-less likely to work based on the fact that, by funeral time, the corpse is usually devoid of body fluids and filled with some sort of preservative instead. Hell, who wants to be resurrected only to find that their blood has been replaced by antifreeze?

I dated a guy who learned how to do astral travel. Well, being an overconfident idiot, he decided the astral plane was boring and decided to journey to hell to find the devil and have a chat. Yeah, you can just *tell* this was going to go bad. I couldn't believe he was that dumb. Which is why he didn't tell me until after he'd tried it.
He had some very interesting stories to tell when I saw him next, but also developed a spontaneous open wound that looked like he'd been bitten. By a person. He said it was some sort of muscly thing with no eyes and lots of mouths. I'm also pretty sure something possessed him. He was a scarier a** than usual after that, and had a habit of smelling like brimstone (burning and metallic). At any rate, all I know is the wound still hadn't healed when I finally dumped him. That was about two months later. I'm a very patient person...
Important safety tip: Don't try to go sightseeing in hell. Not even with protection.

A former member of the Psychic's Guild had a similar predicament, where they requested to see something scary and out of this world...not expecting to enter his/hers. It led to a rather frightening time...I think he/she's Okay now, but they'll probably take a while to recover from such an experience. There was the first time I ever tried this one rain spell; it was a hot summer in a dorm with no air conditioning, so I was desperate. The next day was a giant thunderstorm that flooded some of the classrooms and cancelled afternoon classes. This was a good wrong, but I only really expected a little rain to cool down the air and make it more bearable.
