From Sky Showbiz: highlight to read BIG spoiler, if true.

Dr Who Revelation
To all Doctor Who fans - do not read on if you don't want to know what happens at the end of series three.
A surprise is in store...

Doctor Who bosses have found a way to prevent the much-loved Time Lord from dying out.

By giving him a son.

The revelation will be made at the end of series three, which also sees the introduction of actress Freema Agyeman, who replaces Billie Piper as the Doctor's new companion, Martha Jones.

The Doctor, currently played by David Tennant, only has thirteen lives according to lore, and is now on his 10th regeneration.

And writer Russell T Davies, who is in charge of the revamped show, decided something needed to be done in order that the programme doesn't die out.

A source told the Daily Express: "Since there are only two regenerations left, the BBC needs a plan to make sure the show can carry on.

"Last year in one of the episodes it was hinted that the Doctor had a child following a doomed love affair with someone from a forgotten planet.

"Russell will unveil his big bombshell that he really is a dad in next year's series finale."

Now to me...sorry, but this sounds a bit like a big load of crap...why would RTD let the cat out of the bag so early? Either there's a lot more behind it (so it'll still appear as a '*GASP/SHOCK* moment', or it's just not true.

If it is true, though...given what we know about Torchwood...again, highlight below...

Could this possibly have anything to do with Jack? We know Jack comes back for the last three eps. Why? What's so special about him (other than just being "jack" razz ). Could Jack somehow be the Doc's son?

Not saying I believe it...but if it is true...well...what do you think?

I'm a bit dubious about all this. Yes, we know the Doctor was a Dad once, yes, RTD has said that we will find out who Jack is when he rejoins the series, but if Jack really is who the report claims he is, then why didn't Jack recognise the Doctor straight off?

Jack has had at least two years of his memory erased...that's about all I can figure...other than him never knowing who his dad is, or where he's really from razz I've got a bit of a theory about his immortality, though...Jack = at least half Gallifreyan...dies on satellite 5...Rose/Tardis bring him back to life before he has a chance to regenerate and stuffs the whole regeneration process up?

Hmmm... you could be right there... I guess we'll just have to wait and see!

But that means that to continue Doctor Who, it would have to end Torchwood with Captain Jack, and replace him, which we dont want!

I don't think it's true but you never know. It's fun to speculate about though.

If it happened to be true and Jack was his son, well, that's rather interesting considering the kiss and how Jack is so obviously in love with the Doctor through out Torchwood. lol.

I think perhaps they would introduce a different character for that purpose though, despite the fact that Jack has been a big hit with the audience. If the purpose is to keep the show running for several more years, how could they keep John involved that long? Perhaps Jack would be able to regenerate but John IS Jack, so I just can't see any other actor playing him, ever.

I think Jack would make sense, it would give them a reason for bringing him back, but I always had the odd feeling it may have been the ELO fan from Love and Monsters. Yes, you can tell me I'm nuts now, but you may have noticed I'm full of crack pot thoeries (though I did predict Jack/Ianto after episode 1 and look what happened). Back on topic, I obviously haven't watched that episode recently, but I heard this rumour before I watched it (which might actually be the reason I think this) and thought that the Doctor showing up so many times in the guy's life and the talk of his mother, I thought it just sort of fit. That and I kind of wanted Love and Monsters to make sense because it was so entirely senseless.

I dont think that elton would be XD I no likey him. Both characters in the respective "filler" episode from Torchwood and Doctor Who were lame. I do not want to EVER see Elton OR Eugene EVER AGAIN!

His name was Elton? Flying lord they have sad names. I have trouble dealing with the filler. I try to deny the existence of "Random Shoes" and have tried to make sense of "Love and Monsters". Was it me, or was this year's Christmas special a bit fillerific too?
