“I don’t know if you see me here- But I can tell you your face is clear- I will see you... Forever~! Forever- I will see you forever~ Forever~!!” Vertical Horizon’s song seemed to echo through the mostly-empty park. Green and white sneakers crunched on the frost-covered grass in rhythm with the song. A head of violet hair was mostly covered by the hood of a green-striped white sweater, minus a swash of it that splayed across the boy’s face, covering one of two, closed, lilac eyes. The denim of his blue jeans rubbed together, creating an unnoticed background noise, adding to the effect of silence in the large, recreational area. Every morning, this was what happened. It was a years worn-in routine. It was typical. Everyone knew about it, about the strange, stupid boy who danced in empty parks and had the voice of an angel.
This was Lex Erasmus, commonly known by the name his being teased had gotten him, ‘Lexi’. He was a smart boy, really, and a beautiful one at that, with such a rare eye and hair color, but no one ever asked him out, let alone spoke to him. For one, he was a suspected homosexual, avoiding girls like the plague. For two, he was dyslexic, and couldn’t write or read well at all. But he was smart. Very smart. If he didn’t get letters mixed up, he could probably spell every word in the dictionary out loud. By this time, however, he’d given up. There was no reason to try, in his mind. His school didn’t have anyone who could help him learn how to read and write, so there was nothing like that, and he didn’t believe he could learn on his own.
Thankfully, though, he always had his music. He couldn’t read the lyrics, he wouldn’t be able to write any music, and he could never write lyrics for people. But he could make himself a career in that. He knew it, and he was set on that goal. But he couldn’t sing in front of people. Nothing like that. That was the only problem, that all the ridicule he got and the fact that he was stupid when it came to reading and writing, as has been mentioned many times. He continued his wide-stepping, eyes closed, spinning every other step. A set of headphones was set over his ears, the music blasting loudly. Honestly, if someone didn’t avoid him as usual, or if they didn’t see him, they would be an easy victim of a head-on collision. Of course, Lex didn’t much care. He was too used to the people who avoided him.

"What is he doing?!" Quell asked himself mentally, silently watching a certian someone. He normally noticed that way that is his swayed in in the wind, he noticed how cold his ears were, but not right now. Right now Quell was in a state of confusion, what was up with this kid?
He thought that this park was never occupied by anybody, but now he knew he had been wrong. Quell had simply been on the prowl for a moment of peace and silence, curled up to conserve heat on a park bench, but things hand't had gone his way. Instead there was a child, a rather short one at that, just twirling around in the snow singing some kind of romantic song.
His tail swayed back and fourth, but twitched from the cold. Quell's senses were starting to come back. As two long, brown hound ears listened in on the silence breaking voice, he just simply watched, not even sure if this kid noticed him or not. Was he simply bored, or just crazy? Either way, this kid was strange. Real strage.
Quells lavander blue sweater and jacket had failed to keep him warm, so he just simply sat down on a bench, a bit hunched over trying to keep warm. He had been as quiet as possible when walking, just gluing his eyes onto this child. Being new in the place, he decided to just take a look around and try to educate himself on where all shortcuts and places were. Look what happened instead.
As Quell suddenly snapped out, as soon as the boys voice had paused, he found his eyes now soft and gazing. What a voice. He didn't want to startle the boy who was still unaware that there was somebody behind him, so he decided to make his appearence known by clapping his hands together softly, applauding.

Just as Lexi’s voice faded off from the last note, he heard a faint noise coming from behind him. His arms had slowly drifted to his sides, and now his eyes opened slowly. He turned around, a mixture of surprise and curiosity on his commonly serious face. Lilac eyes, pure and somehow still innocent through all his life, settled on the other boy, and he felt his face heat up. At that moment, he didn’t notice the inhuman ligaments the other boy possessed, and even if he had he probably wouldn’t have reacted any differently. He mouth opened to thank the other for his applause, to say that he was glad that the taller one had liked it, but that wasn’t what came out. Instead, his expression turned to a glare, the flush on his face one of anger, the glint in his eyes to hatred.
“Come to taunt me like the rest of them, I suppose?” he growled in irritation, though there was somehow a tinge of hurt in his voice. Quite honestly, he was tired of all these people teasing him, half of whom he’d never even seen before. This boy was one of the latter, one who he’d never seen before. He didn’t care. His statement was probably true anyway, that the boy had come to make fun of him for his ‘stupidity’, or whatever it would be called. The applause was that sort of sarcasm that even he used, when someone didn’t know if you were there. More commonly, words were the weapons that were used against him, but often times, words fell short of what the person was trying to portray.
“After all, that’s what the rest of them come here to do.” Lexi pulled off his headset and let it fall around his neck. He turned himself completely at that point, taking a few steps, just to be sure the other could hear him. Why was he even there? Most students weren’t even awake at this time of day. That, or they were the type that was always studying, and would be at home, doing just that. He stuffed his arms into the front pocket of his sweater, staring with eyes that were slowly blanking out any emotion at the lilac-clad boy. Then again, maybe he should have at least asked what was boy was doing there...? Oh well. Too late for that.

As Quell looked at him, he couldn't help but smile. He had been yelled at by him, of course, but his eyes still remained friendly and a girn was still on his face. He knew the situation perfectly, due to memories. Even though he had abnormalities of a human with his animal parts, he had not been teased much in his life, but knew of people he grew up with who always had been. This boy wasn't used to that kind of treatment, treatment of gentle hands. He got up from his huddle, but still sat down, with his ears rising in curiosity. "No, not at all." Quell replied, his voice pure with the emotion of happiness. "I don't see anything there is about you worth teasing."
As he unfolded his hands, he rested them on the snow covering the park bench, and watched with amazment, not just because of his voice. "Poor thing..." He shook his head, his emotion still remaining happy, with a mixture of being calm. Quell forgave his attackers every time.
As he stretched, he looked over at Lexi with soft eyes, waiting for his reply.

Lex's chin tilted up slightly, almost as though he was trying to hide his own emotions by making himself seem arrogant. He sported a wary frown, and his eyes were distrusting. Despite his stance, the other boy would still be able to see into his eyes. He was used to this, as well. Shortness was a bit of a problem in his family, but he was already taller than his older brother, Nox, when he'd been fourteen. That would be, he was five-feet, one-inch, the average height of a teenager a little older than him, truth be told.
“You're new here?” It was a question, but it was phrased as a statement. It was a statement. Had the other boy been there for a longer amount of time, he would probably be in the same school, and would know of Lex's dyslexia. Stupidity. Whatever they all passed around as a rumor. And if he lived in the neighborhood, he would be at the same school. He would have lived in a different place or been there for under three days. How Lex knew this? It was a gift. He continued his previous statement; “Aren't you?”
With his short stride, and a few steps, he made his way to sit next to the boy. He was very trusting, and that was for certain. Once he knew that someone wasn't about to laugh and spit in his face, he would trust them in no time flat. His feet didn't reach the ground all the way, but his toes were firmly planted there, his palms on his knees. He looked over at Quell curiously. Not liking to be pointed at for being different, he didn't say a thing about the boy's inhuman ligaments, nor did he pay all his attention to them. Instead, his eyes were glued to those of the other one. For a boy who was so withdrawn, he had a strong gaze, and the fact that he could maintain eye contact was something in itself. “So where do you live? And... Do you go to Richmond High, by any chance?” That would be, his school. It was just curiosity, after all.

"Yes, I guess you would be able to say that." He replied, the only thing breaking hs eye contact being blinking. "I got here a week ago, though. Snow days are pretty cool, huh?" He grinned, just loving everything about snow except the tempeture it dragged along with it.
His eyes finally pulled themselves off of Lex's violet colored ones, as they gazed up at the sky, with Quell trying to remember his adress. In a lot of his spare time he had been trying to study his new adress and phone number, but it hadn't been working out too well. As more frost began to fall from the sky, he was almost in his own world, forgetting about everything. But as he snapped back, he looked at Lex again, ignoring the snow falling upon them. "Can't actually remember my adress, heh..." He began, his gaze lifting from the sky back into the shorter boy's eyes. "But have you ever been on Beech Street? It's the white house with the blue roof." He answered.
He almost answered the third question automatically, but blinked, giving himself time to calm down from confusion. How did this boy know everything? He answered in a friendly form of explaining how snow days were great again, but couldn't last forever. He then explained that he would be going there once all the snow had stopped physically blocking him from going to school. As he looked back not really used to conversation, he asked, "Any more questions?"
