Something jabbed hard into his ribs, jerking Kiros' awake from his slumber. His two-toned eyes flickered open, searching for the perpetrator. Two icy orbs stared back at him from the night.
Pavati.
All he could make out was her gaze, at first. Gradually his eyes began to focus, the darkness melding back from around her fur. There in front of him was a decent sized pup, coming along in her years. One which had offered mother much heartbreak, but also love. She would keep the family ties till the end of her time. Forever following in the footsteps of alpha Kara. Too soft and naive a heart to ever find a place outside this sheltered world. His heart broke to look at her, knowing she would never know the beauty of the earth, but also never see the heartbreak.
"What?" he whispered, careful not to wake the sleeping forms of Sade and Jori that lay so very near. Not to mention the rest of the pack which slumbered closer to the pack. Neira, Carey, Aphrodite, and the brown they had so recently picked up from the street. The red, too, had rested with them for a night, though he wasn't sure that he would stay.
His daughter offered him no answer, simply tiptoed off into the night. Kiros looked down at his sleeping mate and their beautiful son. He did not wish to leave them, but he had no choice but to follow Pavati into the rising mist. An inbittered sigh escaped his lips and he slipped after her, the blanket of moontime flooding over his body.
They'd done this many nights now. Pavati was so very convinced of her powers. He didn't have the heart to tell her otherwise, that she simply didn't have it in her, but the blue wolf still tried. Straining at life. She'd search out the pained and do whatever she could for them, talking to them in soft sounds, and easing their natures. What she may have been able to do for them mentally, she could never exchange for physical relief.
Her footfalls were light in front of her, and all he could do was watch and know that another night would come to a waste.

A still silent night, a light mist covered the ground. There was a crescent moon in the sky giving off just enough light to illuminate the mist. The stars twinkled and glistened making patterns in the night sky. There was a chill in the cool night air and on this clam night a blue wolf couldn't sleep there were white stripes all down his back and his tail and two on his front leg. He stood in front of a stream the layer of mist weaved in and out between his four legs. Beere-Augen stood there thinking about recent events, He knew now his powers were those of a shaman Beere had come to this realization after he had healed his brother Mavis’s wounds a few nights ago. His brother had smashed his ribs by running into something.
He had been quite glad to see his brother again although Mavis now had a demon just like mother and Kiros. He wasn’t sure how to help. He was sure Mavis could handle it but would he want support or something like some often did. In this aspect he would just have to try and understand what Mavis wanted best Beere could and follow his lead on the things Mavis wanted and he would Respect it. Beere looked around perhaps now would be a good time to practice his new powers while no one was looking. Only a few knew about them anyway. Ironically Beere wondered what Kiros would think of them. Beere looked around quickly again to see if anyone was watching Good he thought no one. Beere flattened his ears and focused on moving the air around him, he watched a light wind blow the mist around. Beere would have smiled with pride if he wasn’t worried about loosing control of it again. Beere-Augen played with this for a long while.

Kiros paid little attention as Pavati surged ahead. His eyes and ears were focused mainly on the surroundings. The cold wind had gathered speed, swirling around him in strange fashion. He paused to watch it for a time, but was quickly reminded to keep moving by the cold look of his own offspring. He chuckled lightly at Pavati, but could find no humor in the situation.
He watched her solemnly, wondering just what was going on in that head of hers. She was such a beautiful daughter, and so smart, when her head wasn't full of river rocks. That was to say, Kara wasn't leading her life. The thought of the red caused Kiros to flinch even now, is inner body growling at the images. Yes, she couldn't forgive him, but she was dead now, so he surely didn't have to worry.
Pavati, however, kept looking at him, as if there was something expected. For god sakes, he wasn't a seer, what did she want of him. He sighed and shifted uncomfortably, but didn't yet stir to a walk again. The blue pup in front of him furrowed her brows and jerked her head behind her.
Perplexed, Kiros peered off, not being able to focus clearly at first. It was amazing how the teal-grey fur of Beere-Augen blended into the darkness of the river. Never the less, it was there, and Kiros realized that Pavati had never seen the adolescent. He'd only dared to bring Beere there after he'd been sure that Kara was dead. He couldn't risk having Augen simply cast out of the pack by a red alpha looking for vengence against him.
A small smile came to his lips. He had a caring for the young wolf, as if Beere had been his own son. Of course, he had his own son now, one that resembled him in everything except for blue upon his coat. A son that made him proud. A daughter that made he and mother anxious.
"Beere-Augen," he spoke softly, coming up behind his old campanion. "You should get some rest.

Beere turned his head and lost his concentration, but the air instead of gusting just disappeared back to the way it was supposed to be invisible. No Strange movements and circulation. “I couldn’t sleep,” he said simply “Things have been bothering me.” He said not elaborating on ‘what’ things were bothering. Did Kiros notice the strange currents moving around had been cause by him? Beere was slightly surprised that Kiros had come up right behind him, he must have been far to focused on what he was doing, he should have been more aware and practice at the same time. He wouldn’t make that mistake again. He looked to see a small blue wolf a good size for her age. That must be one of Kiros’s pups. Beere Hadn’t met Pavati yet cause he was in hiding from the red wolf Kara although her death had reached his ears as well. Beere-Augen looked at Pavati his two red orbs looked strange in the darkness.
“It’s nice to meet you Pavati.” He smiled and lowered his head to get to her eye level Beere remembered her name Kiros had told him a while back. He lifted his head and looked back to Kiros “I met my brother Mavis a few days ago.” He told Kiros he a slight grin.
“You need sleep too,” he pointed out to Kiros then looked at Pavati, “So does she.” He said calmly “may I ask why you are out in the first place?” he inquired.

Kiros may have noticed the change in wind, but there was nothing within him that thought any wolf could have caused it. He was not knowledgeable on the ways of the shaman world, and Pavati wasn't either, though she was determined she knew everything. He shook his head lightly at Beere's words. Yeah, things had been bothering Kiros, too, little blue things. He looked at his daughter now and gave a snort.
She flicked a glance up at him that combined hurt and scold all in one package. He merely wagged his tail.
Pavati nodded her head at Augen to acknowledge his presence. Kiros noted that she hadn't come up with a name for him yet. It was odd for her not to, she had a name for everyone, based on their appearance. Goodness forbid she called them after their mother's choice.
"Mavis? Really?" Kiros remembered meeting that particular brother so long ago, when Xan had been present. He'd forced the demon away with a snarl, long preaching about insanity. Now, Xan was long gone, the memories of the past ever-present on his mind, but it was a fate he had accepted. "How was Mavis?"
Pavati pouted when Augen noted she needed sleep. Kiros had no doubt she thought it would remind him of his fatherly duties and he'd shove her off to rest. Yet, he couldn't go to sleep now that he was wide awake, and there was most certainly something to be learned here.
"Not much chance of that now," he chuckled again as Mavis asked the next question. He knew far too well what they were doing out here. "Pavati thinks she's a shaman."
"I AM!"
Kiros looked at Beere sideways. "It's an uncurable ailment, I think." Pavati looked hurt, but there wasn't much that brought her down.
"I'm going to heal something, then you shall see!" she balked, making a loop around her father. "The river will be my blessing."
Kiros sighed. It seemed though he was loving the loss of the certain red alpha, Pavati and Jori had been more distraught than anyone. All the males didn't care for her absence, but the females were avidly protesting in whatever way they could. The fantasies in Pavati's mind were swarming beyond insanity. The only way to put them to rest was to make them come true, and Kiros had no way of doing such. She'd just have to resort to her dream world.

"Mavis is fine although just like your Xan and mom he has a demon of his own I think it calls himself Damon." Beere explained "Mavis had run into something and broken his ribs and pierced his lung." he added in a quiet whisper, he trusted his friend and his father figure although he paused before saying anything.
He gave a slight grin changing the subject "Yeah." although the subject of the shaman came. He looked over to Pavati and grinned "Show me then, I'll find something for you to heal." he decided with his own new powers to help and amuse her. It might confuse the older wolf and would be a fun trick. Beere flicked his ear back as Kiros talked he added calmly "I think so and it might just be harder to cure tonight and it might calm her down.
"I’ll be right back." he said .Beere sniffed the air was still and he couldn't pick up a sent in this mist. He moved the air around trying to have it bring him a sent. After a while something came to the blue-grey furred male and he went to catch it for Pavati his tail trailed behind him. A small white rabbit nestled in its den silently he crept closer to the rabbit he kept the wind in his favor so his smell wouldn't alert the creature and wake it. His jaws swiftly clamped down on the sleeping creature causing it to wake with a start and begin fighting. If Beere had wanted to kill it he would have. He only grabbed hit by the back but blood still stained its white fur.
Beere brought his live catch back to Kiros and pavati. He kept his paws on it so it wouldn't run away although it has stopped struggling. The stream still whispered in the background. "Here pavati heal this rabbit." he told her although it would only be him healing it she wouldn't have to know not yet anyway.

"Xan is gone now," Kiros said sternly, his mind darkening. He had missed the voice in his head with an ache in his heart, but now he loathed it with a passion. For what he didn't know, was Xan had never been there to begin with. He was something created for an atrocity that Kiros had committed. Once he'd come to confront it, and felt nothing but love for Jori, he'd been able to accept that darker side of himself, and so the turmoil in his body had ceased. It had taken time, granted, but it felt so long ago, it was not longer to be spoken of.
Kiros narrowed his eyes carefully at Beere. He wondered how Beere knew that he had a pierced lung. It was often extremely hard to tell such things. He'd seen Native medicine people work such healings and have little luck. He felt his skin prickle, as though someone were up to something, but he couldn't quite place what. He'd keep an eye on Pavati, but for now, let the feeling slide.
He nodded calmly as Augen vanished into the night. There wasn't much else he could do.
Pavati must have seen Beere first. "He's strange, father, I'm not hungry, but he's bringing us food. He didn't bless Kara."
Kiros wanted to smack his head against a tree. The little whelp just wouldn't give up on this damn 'Kara's spirit is with me' stuff. If he had half a choice, he would have switched places with the red in the river.
"See!" Pavati pouted at him, circling around the white furred thing. "He has faith in me." She must not have found a name for him yet. For she certainly hadn't called him anything strange as of the time.
He settled down to watch calmly as Pavati would meet her failure. She made a circle, went to the river, and mumbled things, chanting, doing funny little hops, spitting on the rabbits forhead. Kiros was very glad that he wasn't that rabbit. His daughter was absolutely crazy. Still, it was best to let her finish and fail.

Beere nodded "I know that." he said calmly but then flinched when Kiros narrowed his eyes, he wondered what he had said that was wrong. Beere flattened his ears submisively. Maybe the older wolf wouldn't accept what he was becoming.... Beere worried.
He looked at Pavati and grinned as though knowing something she did not. Course he did but. He watched the crazy little pup do some dances and chants. Kara? He didn't know Kara at all course Kiros had hidden him from her for fear of him getting kicked out of the pack just to smite the older wolf. "Course I belive in you." he said with a quick wink toward Kiros he hoped the older wolf would trust him in this.
Beere-Augen still kept his paw on the rabbit and waited for A sign from Pavati to begin healing the rabbit, Beere would be the one healing it though but she didn't need to know that.

Kiros wouldn't care what Beere was becomming. To him, they were all the same. He was through judging others. Afterall, look what he had done to his poor daughter. He was probably crazier than he would ever be.
Kiros wasn't sure what the wink was for, but it seemed strange. How could anything believe in that little blue blob he called a daughter. She was full of cracked stories.
"Half of Me!" she wailed, pausing. "I'm doing everything I can, but Kara won't heal the rabbit." Kiros about feignted. She was obsessing with the Kara thing again.

Beere began to heal the rabbit himself but made it seem like Pavati was doing it "Look Pavati" he grinned trying to draw her attention back to the healing rabbit. His fluffy tail flicked back and forth contently as the rabbit finished healing, it was visibly better than it had been before,. He had made sure the wounds weren’t to serious, even on a rabbit it might have been hard for him after all he was still learning.
The air acted strangely again swirling; moving the mist in strange patterns above them. Beere let the rabbit up and it dashed away running for its life still not sure what had just happened and not caring to look back.
"Pavati you did it" he said finally staring in the direction the rabbit had left.

Pavati stared, her eyes wide, and a grin spreading from ear to ear. She'd actually done it! It was true, she was a shaman!
"Oh Half of Me! I've done it! See!"
Kiros could hardly believed it. He looked at the place the rabbit had been, and then to Pavati. He never once believed it was true, but it was right there, before his very eyes.
Then it clicked.
The stirring of the wind before they had arrived to talk to Beere, then the change during the healing. It wasn't Pavati at all, but Beere-Augen. Yet, did he dare to break it to the child.
"I guess so," he said carefully, giving Beere a worried glance.

Beere-Augen gave the pup a smile and flicked his ears back "I knew you could do it Pavati," he said calmly, even with her hyper ness he stayed calm. Beere then looked to Kiros "Perhaps you should take her to bed now?" he suggested to Kiros but he wasn't her father after all. Kiros would probably choose best after all he had been raised by this same wolf.
Beere wandered back over to the stream and looked at his mirror image reflection. He would need to speak to Kiros now, he didn't want to hurt the little pup he had made her spirits soar with his powers and made her belive they were her own. He didn't want to let her know about that just yet.

Pavati looked up at her father, and he was unsure what to do with her for a moment. Send her to bed, or keep her out here?
"Alright Pavati, Beere is right," he told her softly. "Go join your mother."
The blue pup seemed a bit dissapointed, but didn't argue and quickly headed towards the place they had come.
"That was a nasty trick, Beere," he said after she'd dissapeared from view.

"It made her happy didn't it?" the blue wolf retorted. He didn't think he had done anything wrong. He sat down on his haunches and looked back toward Kiros from the edge of the river. "Didn't you want her to be happy?" he was confused what was he angry at? Maybe she would eventually become a shaman. He didn't know.
He looked away and frowned his ears drooped he didn't want Kiros angry with him. "Sorry" he said quietly. Placing his paw in the water, he watched the ripples it created. "I just wasn't sure how to tell you." The adolecent wolf stood up still staring at the water.

"I suppose it did," he agreed, settling onto his stomach to stare out across the river. "I want her to be happy, but I don't know how dangerous this lie can get." The worst scenarios played in his mind. It wasn't his daughter's heart breaking that he was worried about, but more that she could end up costing the lives of others because of something she thought she was.
"It doesn't matter, Beere," he said after a time. "We all have things we are afraid of saying." He paused for a moment.
"How long have you known?"
