This is prolly gonna be my favorite thread ever. I like showing off my comic book prowess.
I put forth a request. This is to test my knowledge as well as yours.
Post any Marvel hero matchup you would like to see.
Spidey vs. Capt. America for example.
I will give a possible description of the fight as well as the winner.
If you manage to stump me. 200 gold for you (if I have it)

Juggernaut vs. the Blob.

Juggernaut vs. the blob
OK, Juggernaut has a the gem of Cyttorak, its what gives him his power. The gem allows him to be immortal as well as all powerful, the blob is your basic mutant, but also unstoppable.
The gem leaves Juggernaut untiring so Juggernaut wears down the Blob and beats him soundly.
Juggernaut vs. the Hulk
ok, ol' Juggy is here for round 2. Mystical gem vs. Gamma radiation. This is a fight I would love to see actually happen. As much as I hate to admit it, Juggy would probably win this one too. If Juggernaut were able to get the Hulk unconcious, or under water the fight would be much faster. Either way, Juggernaut takes the Hulk to a point of exhaustion, poof instant Bruce Banner, squish, win for Juggy.

really pushin for some fights aren't ya?
I like it.
OK then:
Wolvy vs. X-23: What would happen if Wolverine fought a female version of himself. I forsee lots of use for the word "Bub". Given they have the same powers but not the same training, I'll have to give this to Wolvy. He has tactics and combat training.
Phoenix vs. Galactus:
all powerful Psychic vs. the Planet Eater. This is another of those epic battles that would make comic geeks wet themselves. This one really depends on if Galactus still has Silver Surfer. If he does, Galactus would do most of the fighting, Silver Surfer providing a distraction. Eventually Phoenix would slip up and "munch" the universe has one less being. Without Silver Surfer, Phoenix can devote her power to defeating Galactus. Advantage Phoenix.

Thor vs. Superman:
Unless Mjonir is packin some serious Kryptonite, this fight is dominated by supes. Thor can't use mind control, and his powers are derived from thunder and lightning not magic. So supes gets toasted to a golden brown by lightning, but quickly comes back and repeatedly beats Thor in the head. A little heat vision for flavor and vio'la Win ala Superman.

Thor can't use mind control, and his powers are derived from thunder and lightning not magic. Mjolnir is magically enchanted, it could hurt Supes if Thor could move fast enough to get any blows in.

Point taken dhoffryn, but speed is still an issue. The thunder is actually channeled from the sky, not the hammer so the lightning isn't magical. Thor would have to get close enough to actually hit supes. That takes speed. Even with Mjonir's flight ability he isn't near as fast as supes.
Can't believe I just argued a case for superman... /emo on crying /emo off

Rick Jones Vs. Alfred. Guh, dug my own grave on this one...
If it's Rick Jones coupled with Mar-vell and the negabands, then Rick wins hands down, but, if it's just plain ol' Rick Jones and his Ham Radio, then Alfred. Though he doesn't look it. Alfred actually does train for hand to hand combat. Alfred FTW.
