biggrin I am new to these forums but I can see that there is not alot of activity going on in them. I will make a new daily thread about my adventures in vana'diel. If you care you can read it, if not I am just trying to have something new for the people that look at these forums everyday waiting for something else to pop up. biggrin

Since today is the only day I have not been on since I got the game I will tell you where I am and the last thing I did in vana'diel. My name is Balient and I am a lvl 12 rdm. I was doing a quest (Hearts of Mythril) in Bastok. I made it up to the Zegham Hill which is where I had to bring the item to and I saved at the top. It was late and I was tired.
I know that its not alot of information but it will get better as I get higher up in the game. I cant wait to get to lvl 30 so I could do the corsair quest. I dont know why but that is the job I want to be. I dont know what I will sub though. If anyone knows what a good sub is please tell me.
If anyone wants to post about what they do or did just post. Lets try to revive this guild people its a good game and this should be a good thread. We should have a section for synth. recipes and weapon/item locations. These are just thoughts if you have any post them and I will try my best to put them in this thread.

*twitch* it isnt dead there are at least 10 new replies maybe one new post here an there everyday, its probably not as active as most guilds you might be appart of but go figure for a gaming guild. Not a whole lot of people spend time on the forums when they could be playing the game.
I dont mind if you want to make new posts everyday as long as thier not offensive or seem like you are trying to take charge. ninja

this guild is not dead sweatdrop it is comparatiely small, but its definitely not dead >< many people check it regularly, and we all know each other quite well^^ blogging about your vanadiel life is a really great idea - while i was playing I maintained a blog and now I love going back to look over all my old old adventures and say "haha i remember that! what a newb i was" and stuff xD

ok thx I just wanted to know if it would be ok if I went on writing on about this. so now that I know that people are ok with it and I have some approval I will keep on doing it. Oh and I didnt mean to offend the FFXI guild and its members, sorry sweatdrop . I didnt see anything constant on the guild forums so I just thought this would be a good idea. But thanks for the replies, I appreciate them.

So when I logged back into FFXI I was still doing the hearts of mythril quest with my friend. We finished and made our way back down Zegham Hill. We returned to Bastok to collect our reward and get some new equipment and try to find some new quests. After finally figuring out how to fish and checking the auction house for weapons we decided it was time to make our way to the dunes.
Our first attempt to make it to the dunes ended bad. We couldnt even make it out of konchstat. We decided to just run through and try to avoid any goblins. It worked and when we got to the dunes we were happy. After checking everything inside we decided there was no way we would survive in the dunes so we left to train in konchstat. After about a half an hour we decided to go back to the dunes and try to get a party.
It started off good but after waiting for an hour trying to get another healer we just decided to disband and get my friend his last points so he could lvl up. Today I am definitely going to try and get another party for the dunes though. I started lvl 12 and thats where I ended, I was upset but I think i'll lvl up tonight.

This time playing FFXI was very annoying. I logged in and I was in Konchstat with my friend. We decided to get some warm-up battles before looing for a party so we went monster hunting. I saw a veteran quadav and figured we might be able to take it since it was tough. I was wrong. My friend died two times fighting the same thing and I just gave up and ran inside after dying once. I had to have died like 3-4x yesterday plus one disconnect.
After finally getting settled in with my first party things started to get better. I lvl up once during my disconnect (I didnt even get to hear the lvl up music) and had a pretty good time seeing how much exp I was getting. I logged off after about four hours knowing I could have done more but happy with what I did. Today will hopefully bring a new lvl, I really want to be a corsair.

Balient I saw a veteran quadav and figured we might be able to take it since it was tough. I was wrong. Aw ;_; As you get get more experienced with playing the game you'll have a better idea of what mobs are good to fight with what groups/duos/solo, and you'll also have an easier time avoiding agro while running through areas full of IT mobs razz Grats on your ding^^ Glad you got lots of exp in your party biggrin

Today was bad. I got so mad playing I really just wanted to turn it off. I have been getting nowhere in the past three days. As soon as I turned the game on I basically died. I was mad because by the time I finished I was back where I started when I first got on. But let me tell you what I did do right today. I got my friend up to rank three finally so we did the crystal line quest which was so out of the way. When we finished and ran all the way back we took another mission on. I think I picked the wrong one because now I have to go all the way from Bastok->Windurst->Sandy->Bastok. Thats alot of walking so I told my friend we should lvl up before we attempt it. I cant train in the dunes so I am gonna try dangruf wadi. Oh and I finally learned how to fish. I couldnt figure it out and yesterday I finally caught a fish. I was happy.

When I went on today I was training with my friend in Konchstat. He finally got up to lvl 13 and I was about to lvl up finally. I would have leveled up sooner but we kept on dying in Dangruf. After finally leveling up to 14 I was happy because now I could get cure II and aero. We were going to go back to Bastok when a lvl 16 rdm stopped us and asked if we would party in dunes. We went and found a new ls group and a good party so that was kind of cool. I regret not going back to get the spells because we did good until we tried to face a pugil. We all did no damage and ended up dying.
I was mad but since my hp was Bastok I could get my new spells. It was pretty late by the time I got my spells so me and my friend went fishing where I lost 1 rod and he lost 3. He got lucky though because our other ls gave him a clothesline rod plus alot of bait. I was kind of mad because after that my rod broke and now I have to buy a new one. I got off with alot of things being accomplished and now all I need is to get to lvl 18.

Balient until we tried to face a pugil. We all did no damage and ended up dying. that's because you shouldn't fight pugils unless your pt is lvl18 ^.^; they are quite meangood job on your lvling^^

Today was actually a really good day. Me and my friend were in Konchstat training since we could take some goblins now. We decided to go to the dunes to fight some lizards which was good for a while. I had got up to 2400 and only needed 1000 tnl, my friend needed 60 tnl.
We were going to fight one last lizard so he could get his last lvl and that ended up being the problem one. I was healing him making sure he wouldnt die but we kept on missing the lizard. He died and I was still fighting waiting for him to come back and when I started to die I ran.

I died as soon as I got to the exit and I was trying to get back to help him. We both died one more time which made him very mad. I thought it was funny. I got set back 800 exp. but it was still really funny. Today I am definitely gonna lvl up.

Your adventures make me miss my nooby days. Alas I don't play much anymore. I don't have time between school, work, and my boyfriend. I picked up WoW instead for the time being since it's a much more casual game.
If you ever need any help or have any questions in general, feel free to AIM or MSN me anytime. I played for well over 3 yrs so (hopefully) I know most of what there is to. gonk
