Trying out a different format for the news, since this allows for discussion of news items (figured it'd be a good time to try it out since things will start winding up for episode 3 sooner or later). I'll be making new topics for each significant story and it'll be up as an announcement until the next piece of news appears. But on to the news. (since I'm lazy and this isn't a terribly involved piece of information, I'll just quote the story on IGN) IGN Xenosaga Lives Namco developing third entry in series, voice actor reveals. by Anoop Gantayat June 28, 2005 - It seems that the Xenosaga series will be continuing. Via an update to his personal website, Japanese voice actor Koji Tsujitani reveals that he's now working on Xenosaga 3 and will be providing the voice of Voyager. Tsujitani lists the game's release as to be announced. The Xenosaga series was meant to span a large number of releases, with reports suggesting six in all. Following the original PS2 release, developer Monolith produced a sequel which featured more adult-like character designs. Tsujitani does not list a system for the game, but we'd say PS2 is a safe bet. If the game is being developed as a PS2 title, we expect a formal announcement in the not-so-distant future. Quick followup with a rumor (quoted from a post on the-ethos.org's bbs) notlco Rumor is according to post 91 from the xenosaga forum http://game9.2ch.net/test/read.cgi/gamerpg/1119881501/ , that in this weeks famitsu, there is a section for episode 3 and that the subtitle is "Twilight of Idols" and it has some movie shots, but since this is only a rumor, we will have to wait for solid evidence. Let the media hype begin~

Wouldn't it be a PS3 title? By the time it comes out, PS2 will be dead, like when the GCN came out, the N64 died. But the PS1 didn't for the PS2, so we'll have to see.

I think the story will move unto Ziggys past and will reveal alot about Abel! Because Ziggys son does look like ABEL!
Thats probably why Voyager killed him >>;;;
Anyway...
Time to dig up more info on Episode III
I hope they do include Sorayasaga back on the story again because the new guy freaking rushes things and is a slow damned writer.

It's most likely that it will be a PS2 title (probably the last in the XS series on the PS2), mainly because if we consider the timeline (and assuming they take about the same ammount of time as with episode 2) we should expect the game in about a year (ep2 came out last year on the 24th of june in japan) in Japan and I don't think they'd be able to meet that target if they were developing for the new system (I think a large ammount of the game engine will be recycled from episode 2 along with the graphics engine - though hopefuly they'll clean up the models some more) - sticking with the PS2 would save them both money and time, something that would be to the XS series advantage. And I'm pretty sure that if it were going to be a PS3 title we'd have probably heard about it at E3 with all the buzz about the next-gen systems going on.

I thought the purpose of the Pied Piper was to reveal more about Ziggy's past? @_o I would CERTAINLY love to learn more about Abel, though... That's like...a no brainer. Shuh yuh. And lol, about the new writer that you mentioned. He sounds like a contradiction unto himself. XD Rushes things and yet...he's a slow writer. Oh jeebus...

Even though i'm kinda lost in the Xenosaga (story) thing right now, it's great to hear about Xenosaga 3. I thought there wasn't going to be any ::whew::.

I meant to mention this when it happend but (I've been away at a summer art program thingy and finally got home *huggles shiny new iMac G5*), a few weeks ago the voice actor removed the announcement from his website because the leak was a breach of his non-disclosure contract.
