Sukari bent down low in the foliage on the jungle floor. Her positioning was perfect, her focus was absolute; just as she had learned on her own. She picked up the pace just the slightest bit, then put on a burst of speed, as fast as a lioness could go.
A foolish boar had decided to graze in a meadow- a deadly mistake. This was the one and only place Sukari could hunt in the jungle, the trees were to much of an obstacle for her to deal with. She lunged, sunk her teeth and claws in, and quickly caught her breakfast. She picked it up, smirked, and headed to her temporary home, lunch in-jaw.

The large dark cheetah lay on the very edge of his tree top home, his paws draped around the branch. He looked thoughtful, overly so, the female whom he had come to enjoy, whom he had come to see every day seemed rather restless, he was worried almost that she would leave him behind. Of course, spotting her coming through the jungle with the large boar in her mouth, he dropped from the skies without a moments hesitation to greet her, his head held high, his chest puffed out, his ears cocked forwards. He was acctually trying to impress her again? He felt like a cub trying to impress it's mother.
Clearing his throat a little, he let a low rumble of a purur escape his chest as she drew closer, hsi claws moudling the ground beneath him. He was about to say soemthing, he would perhaps regret, though his heart told him there was no regret in what he wished to question her about. "Sukari.." his voice broke off, he would wait until she had at least put the pig down. It was hard to be serious when a dead boar was looking at you.

Sukari, once again, felt awkward. She had no idea as to how to present the kill she had made for him. She never hunted for anyone but herself, but it seemed the jungle, and the cheetah, had messed with who she was. She decided the best way to deal with the situation was to set it on the ground and push it towards him with her paw.
She turned her attention upward towards him. Hopefully he wasn't going to question her about why she had caught him the pig... She honestly couldn't understand it herself, and didn't really want to discuss why she wasn't her usual strong, angry self.
At least she hadn't lost herself. As soon as she left her home in the jungle she started to feel like herself again, and especially when she had mad the kill. But all of that dissipated when she came near the cheetah again.

Rolling his thick set shoulders once again he half hopped towards the femme, showing that strange gait he had gained from walking the trees instead of the ground his whole life. Cocking his head he glanced at the boar, a slightly worried look crossing his maw. "This isn't a good bye gift is it?" Had he said that too fast? Probably, his dark brow furrowed as he leapt over the boar ignoreing the creature in liu of standing fact to face with the rather large lioness.
Clearing his throat once again, he took ehr gaze and held it with those ice green eyes, a determined set to his Jaw. "I won't let you leave..." he trailed off, trying to sound larger than he acctually was, trying to sound like he had a choice in the matter, his voice rough, heavy, even resounding with a maleish growl. He stood for a moment in silence, waiting her reply only to take a deep breath, he knew what he had to do and it frightened him to death. "Not without me any way." his whole body tenced as he said it, he was about to abandon the place he loved, his home, his everything, he was about to leave the place he knew, his safe haven to go out in to a world where he was practically a cripple.
He had to though, he didn't have a choice, the jungle just wouldn't be home any more if Sakuri wasn't around to keep this cocky, heavy pawed side of him going. How strange that after all this time alone, he would need one strong, fearsome lioness so very much.

Sukari hadn't been planning on leaving for a while, and was surprised that he thought her kill was a farewell gift. Of course, she wasn't the type to care for someone else enough to go out and get them something, so she could understand how he'd come to that conclusion.
She hadn't known what to think when he said he wouldn't let her leave, and oddly, she felt trapped there for that time. She was larger, and if she wanted, there was no way he could keep her, but somehow, she felt he could. He could keep her captive in the jungle. It was odd, she hadn't ever felt like she was being dominated over, her fate chosen for her.
The feeling dissolved as Jani continued and she discovered she could control her fate. She knew what it meant to him, leaving this place. She knew that out there, there weren't near as many trees, and he'd be hobbling about when he travelled as opposed to his graceful leaps through the trees.
"I know what it means to you." Sukari said finally with a sigh. She didn't know what to think about it. She was happy that he would be coming with her, overjoyed even. But this feeling was tempered with that of uncertainty. She was going to a Pride with many lions, and her division was centered on strength. She tore her eyes off his for a moment to check out his stature again. He was strong for a cheetah, but those paws would be a problem... But she had a position of power. Somehow, it'd be ok. She knew it.
"I'm glad you'll come with me," she said, returning her gaze to his icy green eyes. "I'll do everything I can to make sure nothng goes wrong." And with her attitude, nothing would. She smirked at that thought, and her thoughts drifted back to the boar.
"I caught it for breakfast for you, better eat it before it calls too much attention," Sukari said softly, hoping he'd enjoy it.

Flickering his ears he gave a weak smile, it was honestly a huge step for him to leave this place but for her, well he had to do it, he would take the bull by the horns, swallow that fear of the world outside and join a world which made his fur stand on end. Rolling those heavily mucled, though sleek shoulders once again he gave a nod. "We'll just have to find a place in your pride with some trees." He grins sheepishly as he said this. He could leave the jungle, but living on the ground perminantly really wasn't an option, his fore pawswere virtually disabled when it came to walking at ground level, his toes deformed to get him through the tree tops not accross the ground.
When she mentioned things going qwrong though, that cocky grin returned. "I know you will." he brushed his whole body inderher chin then, short enough to do this ratehr easily he curled his tail around ehr neck like a dark green furry necklace before he turned his attention to the boar she had caught him.
He was hungry, as always, but he usually caught everything for himself, he'd never been catered for before, it didn't even occur to him that female lions in prides fed the males. "It's far too much for me on my own." Cureling his body back on itself in a snake like manner he toughedehr cheek with his dark nose. "Ladies first." He smiled cocking his ears forwards in that very serious manner he always did when he was trying to show off to her.

She nuzzled him back when he brushed against her. It surprised her how he could use the same phrase, but have it mean something different. He had told her "Ladies first" When they first met, but it was filled with aggression (as it well should have been.) Sukari flicked her tail and smoothly made her way to her kill, ripping into it quickly and exposing all of the good meat.
Before she really dug in, however, she turned back to face him. "Share?" She said fairly awkwardly. She'd want him to have some too; he was the male after all. What a strange relationship... She thought to herself.

Jani paused for a moment, that old urgeto run in the face of a munching predator larger than himself tugging at his heart, yet without a second more than that he hunkered down close to the large dark furred femme , pressing his shoulder in tightly to hers and started to eat.
The thought of the journey ahead of him frightened him, but he let those thoughts drift away as he ate his fill. He would worry about it later, after all, for now, this place was home, this place was safe and somehow he had found a female whom he acctually adored. How strange that this relationship had come about and for him, it not only frightened, but left him in awe of his own ideals. After all, why should he leave the jungle? the jungle just wouldn't be home without her that was why. Lifting his head slightly from the feast, he glanced at her and a smug smile rolled over his chops. Without her, the jungle would be a foolish place to live. There would be other trees in the world to climb, there was only one Sukari.

Sukari thought of all of the things that had recently happened... Her recent fight with the white maned-wolf, and her recent pup-napping of Ryega... Who was still out in the savannah... She'd be her old self around them, she could feel it. That anger still dwelled deep within her, but... Jani made her calmer. What would she do when these two delicate worlds met? Would it result in chaos? She pushed those thoughts aside for now, even though it was a foolish thing to do. But... what had she done in these trees that wasn't foolish?
She looked up from her kill, finishing off her appetite, to catch his stare. She actually let her face soften and a smile spread across. Did he know how loopy he'd turned her? He must have, because he had also met the real her. Or was this Sukari now the real Sukari, and the ornery one just a mask? None of it mattered around Jani.

The large dark cheetah finally finished, his stomach rotund and full, really, he was usually a frugal eater, eating as he could and leaving the scraps behind, there was always trouble afoot as far as he was concerned. With Sukari there though, his usuall caution, that air of constant fear had melted away, perhaps it was because she was a lioness, he doubted any leopard would try and face off to her, she was huge, still, it felt strange not to be glancing over his shoulder, he even resisted doing it, gently nuding her shoulder as he looked at her blood stained maw and proceeded to clean her fur without a moments hesitation.
"We can go when ever you wish" he whispered as he nudged her chin upwards nussling her throat before grooming away the blood which was spattered there."you wan't me to come, don't you?" it was a question he had hoped he would manage not to ask of her, this large female, leaving for the pride in which she was no doubt some high ranking indevidual, and he, well he was a cheetah, a larger than normal cheetah but still a cheetah. Would he even be welcomed there? He had never been welcomed in the jungle, though it was indeed his home, would there be trees where he was going? Would Sukari's prode damn him and wish to kill him as the jungle leopards would? These questions went unsanswered as he groomed her fur. He would nto ask them, he didn't want to know, he just knew he couldn't stay here any longer without Sukari, there was just, no point.

"Of course I want you to come," Sukari said softly, closing her eyes. No matter how large any member of her new pride might be, she'd fight them for Jani. He made her feel... normal. No matter how odd it felt, she still didn't want the feeling to leave forever. She did fear, however, how Jani would react to the old her. She needed it for the world outside, and that angry little cat still hid in the shadows of her mind, ready and waiting to return.
She nuzzled him sweetly after a point, forcing her head under his chin. She felt smaller than she actually was around him, at least when they were alone... Whatever the future held scared her a bit... But she'd have to cover that up, and that'd be easy. All Sukari had to do was think of her scum-bag mother.
Something inside her told her it was time to go back. Sukari shook her head to see if the feeling would fade, but it got stronger. "Jani... How soon are you ready to leave?" She asked, pulling away to see his reaction.

The deep green male swallowed hard, he hadn't really thought of a when, he just knew he had to go. He let the thought roll from his mind though, something told him that it was time and event he gods could not stop him following Sukari to the ends of the earth and back again. "I'm ready to leave." The fur on the back of his neck stoos on end as a shifer rolled down his spine making the short dark fur right down his back prickle upwards towards the tree tops, but it didn't matter. He could face his fear of the out there,f or her.
Tangling his neck around her he groomed her opposite cheek, a rough puurr rolling from his deep chest. It felt so strange to him that she had changed hisperception on life in such a short period of time, change was good, and perhaps the world that he feard would not be such a frightening place after all. Perhaps, he let out a long, deep, heavy sigh. He would face his fears for her, no matter what, he couldn't be left alone here again, it seemed almost like the jungle would simply become his grave without her there beside him. Which was strange for one used to living alone.
It felt far too good to be wrong though and that just made it very right, no matter what his fears may have been, they were gone for her.

"That's good, we can go pick up Ryega and head out," Sukari said, fairly afraid of what would happen when the two worlds collided. She kind of dreaded introducing her newly pup-napped minion to her mate, who didn't know she had a minion who she treated poorly. However, he would just have to put up with the treatment she delt to the pup, because it wasn't going to change any time soon. She had to tell him, though. She had to know how he'd react.
"Jani... remember how I was when I first met you? That's how I'm going to be out there. I have to be, that's who I am. I'll never be that way to you though," She promised, snuggling up against him. She rose and headed off in the direction of the savannah, waiting for him to follow, happiness in her eyes.

Rolling his shoulders, he nudged ehr cheek and gave a shallow nod."I know" He smiled weakly. he had guessed that she was not who she was with him,the strong, fearsome type, the talk of her pride and her place within it. He would take a place there too, though he did not doubt that, though his place would be by Sukari's side.
He wondered faintly what the pride would be like, though he let the thought, the idea fall away from him. He didn't even question the name that she gave to him, simply padding up behind ehr, his strange rolling, hobbled gait making him look strange at ground level. "I know." He smiles, it didnt matter, he would be loyal to her no matter what.

Sukari's eyes dialated slowly with the increasing light. How had she known now was the time to move? Instinct, perhaps? Whatever the case, she knew that it had been time. She was delighted that Jani would accept her other side around others... This meant no real clash!
She knew she was starting down a new path... One in which she controlled. That little angst lioness in the back of her head let out that crooked grin.
