I have a friend who is really messed up she had to go to another city with her mum and without her brother they used to be really close but now they are not. I have visisted her there and along with some friends we found a box full of medicines only pills we are scared that she could take the she has really expressed a desire to comit suicide

tell her that she means alot to you.

I had a close friend (he's still very close and very dear to me) and I told him that he ment alot to me and I didn't want to lose him. it was actually when I told him my biggest fear of losing my friends that made him stop trying.

once he almost killed himself and I had my councaler call the cops on him and yeah he was pissed at me at first. not that long ago he said "I never thanked you for saving my life the one time you had the cops come to get me" it really made me feel wonderful inside.

so make sure that she knows that when she has any problems you're there for her, than she means alot to you. also find out her intrests and encourage them. does she like drawing? writing? etc. if there's somthing like that encourage it. this actually encourages people to keep going, that maybe there's somthing out there for them.

You've got to be freakin' kidding me. You see your friend, your BEST friend bring a scalpel to school and cut herself and you don't do anything? You are NOT being a best friend to her, at ALL. It does NOT matter if she "makes you promise not to tell' or anything. That's lame, and someone needs to be told.
Also, she's not cutting "major areas" or she'd be dead. She's doing it for attention, or as a cry for help, and to be her best friend, you should tell someone so she can get the help she needs.
Take it AWAY FROM HER if you see it again, jesus christ, and then go give it to the school's counselor, who will call her parents and get her help.
