I'll be playing as Itachi, then. Anyone else up to playing Deidara?
PostPosted: Sun Jan 28, 2007 6:54 pm

I'm semi-okay with him, but I'll take Deidara...
Unless someone else wants him?

[Nods] Noone seems to be taking it. Sure, you can play! I have actually grown to like role-playing with you. ^_^ Would you be so kind as to post first?

((Ahh, sure. Apologies beforehand, in case something gets screwed up. Truthfully, I've only roleplayed Dei-chan in one other roleplay, but I've come to like him.

Now, here's for an 'oh so' exciting start xD))

Deidara leaned against a tree, his arms crossed in front of him, a somewhat annoyed expression on his features. He'd been given a mission. A mission to examine the main villages for each land, and to keep track of new ninja graduates, the Kage's, and anything else that had been deemed important. Basically... Information gathering to be sure there was nothing big hiding from the Akatsuki.

Usually, Deidara was fine with any mission. From hunting Tails, to trailing people, he wouldn't mind, exactly. Save for... Sasori was usually his partner for these. This time, it wasn't. This time, it was Uchiha Itachi.

"He's late, un..." Deidara mumbled, glancing up at the sky between the tree's surrounding him with his visible eye, before looking back down again. "And Leader-sama wanted us to start as soon as possible, un..." He grunted. Basically... He was impatient, and bored.

((Okay... two things... I've seen 'un' be used before, so I'm going to use that this time around, instead of the 'yeah' used in the manga.
Second... is that okay?))

[Itachi's sandal's crunched the dirt beneath his feet as he walked towards Deidara's location. People had held him up. Two shinobi had recognized him and attempted to collect the ANBU squad. Itachi had to hunt them down and eliminate them both. They had attempted to split up, but his Kage bunshin technique had put a quick end to that problem. The Uchiha had tracked them both down and eliminated them and then disposed of the body using his katon jutsu's. It had taken only two, but it had been enough to render the bodies unidentifiable.]

[This was an odd request from leader indeed. He had requested that Itachi go with, instead of his usual partner Kisame, Deidara. Frankly, Itachi didn't care who he worked with, just so long as the job got done. And Kisame had become to wear on his nerves anyway. The proud fish had really irked him. No sense of art, or class, or admiration. He was a blunt sword-swinging fool, to be precise. Oh well. Deidara seemed to know little of Itachi, and Itachi Deidara in return. Itachi guessed this was a better time than ever. He walked past the tree Deidara was leaning against, glancing to catch his comrade's eye.]

"I apologize for my absence."

"You should be, un..." Deidara muttered. He pushed himself away from the tree and gave a slight stretch, all the while examining Itachi. "I take it, you have been given the exact detales of our mission, un?" He asked. I'm stuck with him for who-knows-how-long... And I doubt he will be easy to get along with, let alone be around. I wonder how Kisame-san does it, un... he thought, squinting his eye slightly. "Jeeze... this is gonna be a long mission, un..." He mumbled aloud.

"Watch your tone, or I'll shove a katana in your mouth...all three of them."

[Itachi said lowly as Deidara mumbled. Itachi wasn't one to take, or give insults. He was the sort of person who simply killed you without talking about it. Wasn't that the way it was supposed to be anyway? Itachi relaxed himself. Alright. Observation number one; Deidara was not a patient man. Nor a subtle one. Itachi shook his head and began to walk alongside Deidara, about a foot away, at the same pace. He drew a ronin hat from his cloak, and placed it atop his head. All Akatsuki were given these hats, and Itachi enjoyed them. They helped to hide identity.]

[Besides, the sun hurt his eyes.]

"Yes, leader-sama told me...."

Deidara muttered something under his breath, but it was too quiet to hear. He'd decided not to put on his own hat as soon as Itachi pulled his out. The first observation the blonde had made was that Itachi was late. The second was that he didn't seem to like being spoken against. Lovely.

"Would you rather start in Konoha, or Sunagakure, un?" This was the only choice he would give Itachi for the entire mission. Unless, the Uchiha decided to get mean and take over the whole thing. Sasori usually did that, but Deidara sometimes made the choices.

"You take point, Deidara-kun. I'll follow your orders."

[He said, lifting his fingers and tipping his hat. He was tired of giving orders. Deidara had the gall to call him out, and insult him for his tardiness. Good. He wasn't a pushover like that accursed Kisame. Don't get me wrong, the fish-bait warrior was good in a fight, but bad to be around with. And frankly, so far, Deidara wasn't turning out too bad. But that was just the perspective of dominance and courage to stand up to Itachi Uchiha, one of the most feared nin in the world. He hadn't seen Deidara in combat either, which would be good if the situation ever arose.]

[Itachi lifted his black fingernails and with his thumb and forefinger, pulled his hat down just a little lower when he finished speaking, closing the distance between Deidara and Itachi. Itachi didn't like being caught off guard, and he knew to keep his comrades close in case they were ambushed.]

Deidara observed Itachi for one moment before focusing on the path ahead. "Konohagakure it is, then, un..." He murmered. When they got what they needed there, they could simply make a loop around, following from either Kirigakure, or Sunagakure. Starting at Konoha also would allow him to observe the other male's homeland. He knew not much at all about Uchiha Itachi, but he would find out at least something, even if they didn't speak about it verbally.

"As you wish...."

[He mumbled under his breath, just barely enough for Deidara to hear. Konohagakure. Great....They may not recognize Deidara there, but they would surely recognize Itachi. They may have to kill many on this mission. And even though Itachi was always one to shed blood, he wasn't so easily provoked into getting into old memories. Itachi wouldn't allow himself to be thrown over by a mere sense of conscious however. He had told Deidara he would follow orders, and so he would. Lifting his gaze back up, he removed his ronin hat. No more hiding.]

[He tossed it aside and it settled into the branches of a tree. Itachi Uchiha doesn't hide from, or for, anyone.]

Deidara observed Itachi within this seemingly new air. He wondered if the other male changed his mind that quickly with every aspect of his life. If he did, then the blonde had a feeling he'd wind up getting confused more than once, this trip. He also observed that Itachi seemed a little... uneasy about his choice. Well, Uneasy wasn't the exact word, but it was what he could think up, at the time.

"We'll be remaining at the edge of town, and we will conceal our identities, un..." Deidara murmered. He knew that, even if he wasnt recognised, Itachi surely would be. "We want to fight as little as possible, so we will remain under the cover of a genjutsu the entirety of our time here... as well as in the other villages, un." He wondered why Itachi discarded his hat... they would be stowing away their stuff in whatever rundown hotel they could find to stay in. Anything too flashy might seem odd, and even though the blonde happened to like sleeping in comfortable beds, and bathing in nice, large, baths, they would have to suffice for something less, while in Konoha.

"Very well, Deidara-kun."

[Itachi said softly, debating the idea of hiding his identity. Ah, decisions. Itachi was a very...confusing, individual. At one point, he was a caring family person who would protect you with his life. The next, he'd slaughter your entire clan and leave a sole survivor to suffer for all of eternity. The choice wasn't really up to him, it was up to the people around him. Itachi let his hand rest in it's usual spot, just between both sides of his cloak in the upper part of it, just below the collar. Itachi's blood red eyes lifted to Deidara and he blinked twice, before closing his eyes once more.]

[Itachi was blind. Entirely. He could not see anything unless his Sharingan or his Mangekyou was active. This was why he was a skilled fighter, not distracted by the anomolies of sight. It got confusing at points but he was able to move just as rapidly as all the others, if not much faster, when faced with a nearly unstoppable opponent. Itachi simply strode beside Deidara, thinking of the blonde's choice of location.]
