Here you can tell everyone how you got your Wii, (If you have gotten one), as well as give others tips on getting their hands on one if their interested.

Be sure to include the:

Date you attemped / got the Wii
Which store you got it from
What time you left the house

Let's see, where to start.

Okay, so it was November 16th, 2006 when I realized that I wanted to wait for the Nintendo Wii. To my surprise, THERE WAS ALREADY PEOPLE OUT THERE! I just thought, oh god, 3 days before launch and they're already waiting. So I said screw the launch date, let's wait a little while, I can wait.

Guess what day I picked to go out and try to find the Wii? November 24, 2006, Black Friday. (Bad Decision) I wake up at 4AM, waiting in the toysRUs line, hoping to run inside with the crowd and trying to grab a Wii. It's now 5Am, I'm about 10th in line, the doors open, I run in. Wait a second, WHAT DO YOU MEAN NO WIIS?! Admitting defeat, I go home, because all the other stores were already open and I doubted they had any seeing as it's Black Friday. That sucks, I learned on this day that I should plan ahead instead of just going to toysrus.

Next attempt!! December 3, 2006. I tread out the house at 4AM, hoping it'd be easier to get the Wii since it's been a couple weeks after launch. I walk into the Target line, only to be crushed about 5 minutes later that I'm 5 people too late. Next place, Curcuit City. I stand in this line for about 2 hours, waiting for those doors to open. About 18 people are in front of me, 5 of them are one family, and another 4 are one family, so I thought, "Oh, no worries. Stores usually limit one per family on things like these." Stores about to open and their about to hand out tickets. They say, "Okay, we only have 15 Wiis." and 100 people in line went WHAT?! My eyes were glowing, I thought I had to chance to get one.. until.. they start handing out the tickets and they give it to one PER PERSON. Me, and some people behind me, started complaining in how this one family is getting 5 WIIS, and they just said, "That's business." and told us to go home. What jerks.

Next attempt!!! December 17, 2006. Last chance before Christmas. Left house at around 4 Am, still not learning my lesson on leaving earlier on that. We head up to the stores and the lines long and I say "Screw it" and I went home.

I was really giving up hope at this time.

January 12th, 2007. I find www.target.com selling Nintendo Wiis on their website. It was 1 AM in the morning, I was tired, and I was pissed. I buy that Wii as fast as I can and just scream OMGYESWTFTHISISAWESOME!! Seeing how it's 2 months after launch and on that night my brother forgot to pick me up and bring me to a party, I was extremely happy.

January 18th, 2007. My Wii comes in the mail! YESS! I skipped anime club and ran straight home from school to play it.

Finally. That's the end of my story. Woot! Time to tell me your experiences.

Well, my story goes back a long way. All the way to the Code Name: Revolution days. I saw it at E3 the year I went there and new that I had to have it. I spent my whole days working out figures on when and where to be there, not really but I did think about it a lot. So when EB Games was taking Pre-Orders. So when I got there, I was one spot away from the last Wii pre-order. I was pissed to the Max. But when I was about to leave, a guy walks up to me and says "I thought this was the Playstation 3 line. If you want you can take my spot." I was extatic. But then the guy and charge was like "People have been waiting longer than you, sorry give it back to him" I hated that man. So we had to go home. So then I spent nights looking for it on the internet. One lucky night, EB Games sold a package deal, 1 Wii Console (the one you get in stores) with Wii Sports, 1 Extra Remote, 1 1 gig Memory Card, and 6 games. I was one of only 6 in the nation to get it. So that's my story. It arrived 8 days after it was released in North America. A tip I would give is to never give up when you look for it. Walmart seems to get a fair amount and they seem to get a lot more.

I left my house at 11:45 pm to go to Target.
I waited for 9 and a half hours in the rain. I didn't even wait it out in the car. I was in a camping chair the entire night. When we finally got in the store it was about another hour waiting in line for the actual system. When I got home, I played my Wii right away. I was so tired from staying up that I fell asleep playing.
It was the worst experience of my life. D; But it ws worth it. xD

I have no games except Sports, so, my back is really tired. I'm so out of shape.... My fitness age is 34. ;__; while I'm only 18!

She accually, in line, talked with some of the NOA(nintendo of america) employees and VP. It sounded awsome! She rocks!

Well this goes back to launch date. I was waiting in line at my local target,
well they told me I was confirmed a Wii, so that was cool.
Well some guy buys two and I get up to buy one, they are out.
Ok next it was January 12th, I called gamestop,
them saying they have 10 of them. Well I show up and nothing is there.
I was pissed, and tried to forget about it.
Well January 27th I call my local walmart and target,
saying they are getting some on the 28th.
So I got all excited and me and my friend just played Guitar Hero 2
the rest of the night.
So he wakes me up at 10 a.m. and tells me to get my keys.
We drove to walmart and walked towards my friend Steve, as he was working at walmart and told me to follow him.
He handed me the last Wii.

My fair story would begin about 2 months before release date.

Although the Wii had been available on Play.com for Pre-Order for quite along time, me, being the lazy sod that I am, thought well I might aswell do it now, rather than sooner.

Mistake number one.

I didn't get it on release date and well not at all from Play.com, I signed up to a website telling me about when shops got stock in, having failed to get one from my local shop, once again I had forgotten to Pre-Order. That would be my second Mistake.

My third mistake came in going to school for the next few weeks and sleeping, as every time stock came in I was either in school or asleep. I was getting very agitated and worried that it wouldn't be here in time for Christmas, and I was right.

My loving family got me all the games I had wanted and an extra controller and nun chuck, but no Wii for Christmas. I got the Wii from my local store, after the managed agreed to keep a Wii in stock for me when he got one, and he only got one when they arrived.

So laughing all the way there and back I got a Wii and now bask in its warm glow almost every night.

wii story?

mmm after reading up on the wii 2 days after launch, i decided to call around my area to see if they had any left.

luckily there was a Target that had 1 left. I had to go there after work to pick it up.

There was several people at the counter when i got there, pleading the store clerk sell it to them.

I came in and said i had one on reserve and gave him my mooola.

Can't help but remember the looks I had from all those mothers.. >> it was like they were gonna run me over with their cars and take the wii from me gonk
