The morning was anew, the birds twittering in the treetops as the morning glow cast its warm rays over the fields of grass. It was a spectacular morning in the azure orbs of one pup, her tail thumping against the soft terra as she survey'ed the land. Squinting her eyes lightly as jaws opened to yawn, the pup shook her head afterwards. Bindi's life had begun not too long ago, her first breath, her first recognition of her parents...not to mention her first steps.
Of course, that was a -long- time ago...as she would go to explain. Rising from her haunches to stand and stretch her legs, Bindi gave a soft whine of lonliness....was she the only pup or wolf around here?

Nymmeria cast a wary eye around the woods, noting the rising of the sun above the tree tops. Everything was dewy, and her feet were slick with the moisture.
In the near distance she heard a little whimpering noise. Approaching the edge of the woods, she spotted a young puppy. What was a creature so young doing out along? She scanned the are warily for other wolves. No, the little one seemed to be the only one present.
Nymmerian took a half step out of the woods, to stand bathed half in sun, half in shade, showing off her strangely marked pelt, waiting for the pup to notice her.

Thumping along a well trodden path, a wolf pup the color of the setting sun hummed some anceint tune. He seemed rather pleased with himself, his head and tail held high and his step as regal as a youngster's could be. He had reason, though, and that lay in the limp body hanging from his mouth. He had /finally/ done it. The little mouse had been rather easy prey, what with a broken leg and all, but it still felt like some sort of an achievement. It was his first kill, and such an occasion had to mean something. At least, in his mind it did. It had been hard, but had also been made easier with the help of a raven that had pointed out the injured creature to the pup with his flying patterns. Papa was right; the birds did have great signals to show. They were something to be cherished. For now, however, he simply wanted to eat his snack.
Bobbing his head to the little song he was humming merrily, Litre hardly spotted another pup on the path. His eyes saw only vicotry, and if it hadn't been for his nose, he would've run right in to her. Widening his eyes to get a better view, he instantly stopped his tune and stood stock still, unsure of what to do. What if she wanted to take his mouse? He had worked hard to get it, he sure as heck deserved it. No pup was going to take it from him, no pup! It was his. The inner turmoil didn't seem to plan on quitting any time soon, which was really a shame. With all of this thinking, he didn't remember to say hello, or even acknowledge the other wolf's existence. Instead, he stood there, prize in jaw, trying to decide if she was friend or foe.

The sun hurt his eyes. Alexander was definitely a nocturnal wolf. He was infinitely more comfortable in the cool dark night, with only the moon and stars to light his path. The sun was like miniscule needles in his eyes whenever it bounced off of something reflective. Don’t look at the water, don’t look at the sky. Those were two of Alexander’s guidelines for living in the sun. However, he knew he must adjust eventually. Otherwise, any journey into the day would put him at a disadvantage to the other wolves. He didn’t like the odds.
Padding along softly, taking in the morning sights and smells, Alexander wondered what to do for food today. His ears turned about in every direction, searching for something edible.
Instead of the soft chirp of a rodent, he heard the familiar whine of a wolf. Alexander stopped, and sniffed the air, wondering which direction it had come from.

She stuck her snout into the air, and inhaled deeply. It seemed more wolves were in the immediate area. She took another step out into the sun, full showing off her pelt tat looked like muddy water with weeds tangled over her feet.
Nymmeria hoped the others would be younger, or at least weaker than she was. While she was strong for her stature, she doubted she could win in a fight with a larger male. Or a medium male. Or even maybe a small male.

Flattening her ears to her skull, the pup's tail dipped down to remain motionless....were her parents not supposed to meet her here soon? She had been waiting since the crack of the sun over the horizon...and not a soul had arrived. Giving a soft sigh, her sunlicked pelt shimmered under the sun as she turned to leave...when a presence caused her to feel a tingle in her paws. Perking her ears back up, her head turned around the meadow in search for something when her eyes caught sight of another wolf near the forest line. Pausing for only a breif moment to think about the situation, she let out a short yip; a test if she would respond or not. Yet as this female stepped out of the shadows, her tail wagged, It was life!
However, her excited demeanor faded as her body snapped around to look back...another pup? Eyes widening as this male remained still and weary with a mouse between his jaws, Bindi cocked her head to the side in cusiosity of this male. She had eaten already, so the mouse was of none of her concern really. "Hullo..?" She spoke timidly, would he attack her?

Sekani's ears twitched at the sounds of the birds twittering, opening one pale eye to stare at his surroundings. Night had come and gone, morning taking its place and bringing with it the warmth and light it always brought. And with the light came the birds, the wolf mute noted, as he rolled up onto all fours. He stretched, giving his tawny fur a good shake, skin and fur stretched over lean muscle and faintly visible bones. He was not a starved wolf, but not one as strong or well-fed as a wolf of a pack. But such was life.
A soft whine in the distance caught his attention, and Sekani's black-tipped ears perked in interest. What was this? Was there another wolf in these lands? He had been sure that he wasn't invading another wolf's territory when he'd stopped to hunt the previous night. Judging by the pitch of the whine, the wolf didn't sound too old. Perhaps it was just a wanderer like himself. Curiousity killed the cat but not the wolf, and Sekani set off in the direction of the whine.
Before he got near enough to identify the source of the whine Sekani paused. There were other wolves here. He was hesitant to investigate if it meant confrontation. After a moment he decided to press on, and moved cautiously towards the sound of the whine. He had only taken a few steps when another wolf moved, exposing herself. Sekani tilted his head, wondering if she had been the one who whined. No... there were pups here. He could smell them. Now the question was, were they hers?

Just then, Alexander smelled, rather than saw, his chance. A dead mouse in the maw of an orange wolf looked like a tasty meal. He crouched low on his cream-colored belly so as not to be seen or smelled. Damn the daylight. His pelt would be hidden much better at night. Alexander folded his ears back and focused crystal blue eyes on the mouse and pup combination.
He shoved a black, scruffy paw forward, then a blue one, then a black one. That’s how it went as Alexander crawled closer and closer to his target, wondering what would happen when he pounced. The youngster tried to be extremely quiet in his ambush, so he didn’t ruin his chances.
3… 2… 1…
He sprung! Kicking off with strong back legs, Alexander was now in a crash course with the other pup.

He took a shy step towards the female, testing the ground as if it would fall through? Why had someone had to be on this path? Why? Apparently, this wasn't as bad as it was going to get. His mind was flooded with mingled scents of other wolves. Fighting the urge to run away and hide with his prize, Litre took a step away from the female, whimpering a little. Was it a trap? Surely it couldn't be... Surprise! A flying wolf was coming right towards him. Flying? No, that couldn't be; but he was! Entirely confused, Tre forgot to make a run for until the very last possible second, at which point he made a mad dash for the trees, mouse still securely in his jaw. Obviousley, that tan pup had been planted as a decoy to take away his mouse. It was the only conclusion is young mind could come to, and a slightly paranoid one at that.
Reaching the safety of the tree line, Litre reeled around a trunk, swinging out his hind quarters in a wild attempt to loose his pursuer. No one was going to take his first kill. No one! Not even a group of evil pups who were plotting against him! With a paniced face, he vaulted around trees, hardley watching his step.

"When the dew touches the grass, and the birds sing in the trees, I can run about, and happily let time fall and imagination go free."
Wise words for such a small pup.
Nuenen continued to babel to herself in a hushed voice as she traipsed through the tall grasses. Old morning dew brushed off and clung to her fur and nose, but that was ok, for it felt refreshing and smelled nice. As she walked, violet eyes roved the area, but only insects were currently being spotted. ...nevermind.
Soon perked ears caught the rustle of bodies close by, the sound of voices, and the scent of it all. What had she just stumbled upon?

Alexander landed directly on his face. He needed to get better at being stealthy. Or at least pounce at a closer distance. Or at least one that didn’t give his target such apt time to escape. However, this little endeavor hadn’t ended yet.
After smashing his front half into the dirt, Alexander rose to his feet in record time, courtesy of a very empty stomach. He didn’t have a lot of time to think before his hind legs were powering him into a high-speed chase. The blue male tucked his ears back and forced his tail straight behind himself for better balance and speed. His furry feet hit the ground hard and fast, posture still recovering from the fall.
Running as fast as his little legs would carry him, Alexander followed this mystery male to wherever he would go. It would probably be easier to catch his own prey at this moment, but now he was involved. What was he supposed to do?

Standing in the sun, she watched the puppies closely, not noticing Sekani until his eyes were on her. He was slim, but he was larger than her. Nymmeria felt her hair raise up. She didn't think she was in anyone's territory ... But what if this was his? What if these were his puppies?
She dropped her eyes, and approached him with her tail tucked under her. She remained a good ten paces away. " Is this your place? " She asked in a quiet voice. Her entire body was tense, ready to spring away should he start to come after her.

The sound of pounding paws behind him only made Litre's hear beat faster and his breathing harder. This caused a quicker fatigue than usual, a most unfortunate thing to happen in this particular situation. He had to hide, and he had to do it fast. With one last burst of speed, he headed out of the cover of trees and into the dew speckled grass, flying towards another pup. Where were they all comming from?! This time, it was another female, but not the same one he had seen before. She was blue and seemed to be talking to herself. What an odd thing to do, but this was no time to think. Without a second thought on the matter, he bounded her way, jumping at the very last moment and skidding to a stop just on her other side, his hear pounding in his throat. He stared at her with terribley frightened eyes, hoping she'd stop his persuer for at least a moment. He just needed to catch his breath, and then he could keep running. No one was going to take this mouse. It was his first catch, and by golly he was going to eat it! Even though it was slowly growing more and more disfigured, what with all the jostling from the race.

Opening her canines to once again speak to the honey-hue'd pup, she yipped out of startle as another navy boy literally flew out of the bushes and tried to snatch the mouse from the other. It seemed like seconds when the two were gone, paws pounding the terra as they vanished into the dense bushes. With eyes still wide, her heart slowly began to settle down from the scare....yet once again, she was alone.
Cowering slightly as her whine rose up again, her head slowly turned to spot the pair of older wolves at the forests edge. Although instinct told her that it would probably be best if she just remained where she was...the feeling of being alone was something that she did not enjoy in the slightest. Thus, under better judgement, she slowly trotted over to the pair, her ears flat and her tail only swaying very slightly. Giving a short whine so both could hear, her gaze flittered from one to the other before giving a shy, "Hullo.."

When the brown pup crashed towards her, Nen wanted to flee in every direction...except her legs wouldn't move. Fright stricken? Hell, she didn't know, but the fear in the other's eyes didn't calm her in any way. She also noticed the mouse, but that didn't help either. She wasn't hungry!
Almost frantically, she looked at the other, then to the spot he had come from, and then back at him. Her muzzle had parted slightly and eyes grew wider almost every second. She wanted to ask what was going on, but words caught in her throat and her mind had already froze.
