The sun began to sink low upon the horizon as Kajji entered the elephant graveyard. He hadn't been here since he was a small cub and for some reason felt the need to return to the dreary place. His muscles were tense and alert as he moved into the area slowly. The young lion grinned remembering the tales he had heard of all the trouble that had caused here. Feeling rather playful, the large lion idily swiped at one of the various bones lying upon the ground and watched as it rolled into the shadow of a large elephant skull.

Shadows always hid things, and usually, there were not nice things. As was the case at hand. The bone that the lion had so idilly pawed just so happened to roll into the shade in which one very grumpy, and rather pregnant female hyena slept. The hormonal creature jerked awake as something hit her rump, and immediately, her senses were flooded with the smell of lion. Snarling, she stood slowly, pacing out of the shadows, head hanging low.
"Death wish, I see?"
Though she'd been rather well mannered during the few short weeks she'd been carrying, a disturbance like this was just the thing to send her off the edge.

Kajji's fur along his back bristled as the female hyena made it's way towards him. Taking a few small steps back, to give him room, he watched her closely. Baring his fangs, towards the female. He remembered her from his cub hood, this was the female whom had attacked him as a cub. His mis-matched eyes filled with anger and hatred.
"You", he wasn't sure if she remembered him but that didn't matter to him. It was time this hyena learned not to pick on helpless cubs. Perhaps it was time that he returned the favor.

"Me, me, me"
Mafa spat at the lion. She had no recollection of him, but even if she did, she wouldn't treat him any different. Her hackles too bristled, her icy stare zeroing in on the lion. He was big, but she was just as big. Mafa had no problem fighting lions even bigger than her size. She was confident of herself, and for good reason too. Mafa didn't lose. The added hormones coursing through her veins only served to amp her up even further.
Keeping her eyes trained on the enemy, Mafa circled about him, not allowing him to focus on her in just one spot. She was simply rearing for a fight, being cooped up so long made her simply lust for it.

Kajji let out a growl, low in his throat. His eyes just as cold as Mafa's. Following his every movement with a matching one of his own, Kajji refused to let his back be exposed to the female. Baring his fangs, Kajji lashed out at the air in front of him threateningly. His heart held no fear of the female hyena, only a cold anger towards her. She may not remember him but that didn't matter to Kajji.

Any normal animal might've been intimidated by the lion, but not Mafa. She was just too head strong. The lion's growl was echoed by one of her own. And as he lashed out in the air, Mafa lashed out at him. After pacing another circle, the female, eyes trained on the lion's side, lept. Bundling up the energy in her powerful thighs, the beast lunged at the black lion, yellowed fangs bared and ready to sink into his soft flesh.

Kajji let out a loud snarl of pain as Mafa's razor sharp teeth sank into him. Twisting his torso around, Kajji lunged downward to latch onto Mafa's ear. He ignored the wound he had just sustained. Though the scent of his blood was driving him crazy, that's what he gets for not feeding earlier.

Mafa felt contact almost immediately as her jaws clamped down, teeth digging into his soft flank. Blood immediately seeped into her mouth, flooding her senses with a deep seeded pleasure. Shaking her head violently, she tore at the lion's flesh, trying to inflict as much damage as she could.
She halted her vicious shaking rather quickly, however, as a sharp pain coursed through her system. The b*****d had latched onto her ear, and moving her head caused more pain. But she wasn't about to let go first. No way in hell.

If possible, Kajji seemed to bite down harder upon Mafa's ear. It seemed it had now come down to whom was more stubborn, the hyena or the lion. Flicking his ear's Kajji kept an ear out for any other hyena's whom might come to the female's aid. Letting out a growl around his teeth, Kajji began to shake his head, hoping to rip the ear right off of her.
