Sence I'm going to be working this summer, i figured that i would save my money to get a new gun, but i cant decide if i want to buy a PMR w/ ultralite frame or a NXT Shocker.

In my tournament today i shot both and the PMR sucked horribly compared with the Shocker. The PMR isint very consistent on ramping or semi auto and the shocker just rips in every mode. I reccomend PSP ramping for shocker and good ole 1 ballin semi auto for PMR. But when your ready shoot both side by side and see which one you like for yourself.

Shocker.

I like Timmy's personally. But if those are your two choices get the Shocker.

From what I merely felt at World Cup on these markers and what I've seen from their counterparts I'd have to go with the Proto Rail becuase I'm a long time Dye fan boy and happen to own one of their markers. Sense this is for you and not me we'll get into the good stuff.

Arlight so lets first look at the price range here for these marker brand new. PMR=$400 NXT Shocker=$700, Well sense usally spending more cash equals high quality the NXT Shocker should come with some nicer stuff stock. I'd have to consider the PMR to be a Mid-End marker if your looking at price alone and the NXT Shocker to be in the lower High-End range. Allright thats been established lets move on.

Now were talking design wise and reliability. If I'm correct both of these markers lack a LPR which can be a pretty important factor when it comes to Spool Valve marker. Without a LPR the noid is recieving the HPR's full pressure and if its not correctly checked and maintained at the right pressure it could lead to a blown noid from too much pressure. Hence why both these markers should have a gauge for the HPR regulator stock.

Spool Valve markers are pretty easy to maintain if you don't tinker with settings too much and keep the O-Rings properally lubed and replaced once an effective amount of damage appears on them.

Now lets talk electronics.Shooting modes are pretty about the same if I'm correct, but for me its not the modes a marker comes with that makes me buy it. Both should have breakbeam eyes which have been known to be the best type of eye system out there. Both markers have LED based boards if I'm correct as well. So pretty much same and same here.

Now lets get down to parts. Well being the the PMR is $300 less then the NXT Shocker it should be expected your not going to get the same bang for the buck.

But in the end its up to you on what you want.

Personally, i agree, the Shocker is by far a better gun than a stock PMR... however, with that extra $300 dollars, you could buy the UL frame, and a new board for the Rail. The shocker, you still have to get more money for the ups. Hell, you could just get a PM6, they are $550 on Proto's site. All you really need after that is a barrel.
