I've noticed that there are atleast a few members here in the guild that have an interest in the paranormal besides myself. So I figured... thread? Why not.
I wonder sometimes if those with autism are more susceptible to or sensitive to this type of phenomena. I have had a few experiences myself, and I know of atleast one other autistic who has had quite a few and has an obsessive interest in the paranormal. In fact, we both reported a very similar feeling at the same location (we were not there at the same time, either, by the way, both of us having visted at different times).

This may or may not be considered paranormal, but I do have a huge interest in vampire mythology, even went as far as writting a research paper on them and getting a decent grade on it.
That was probably my favorite assignment and I learned a lot about the mythology from that.
As for other like ghosts and things, I have had my fare share of paranormal experiences, like my sister owned a Luigi board when she was into witchcraft, and when she got tired of it and became a Christian, we broke the board into two pieces and felt it was quite warm on the inside of it, and after that me and my brother had different times where we believed there was a ghost or demon that haunted our house and we have seen plenty of proof of that, for instance, our Boxer dog was outside and my brother saw a white figure of a man walking around there and the dog just ran past him as if he didn't see the man (and the dog is very defencive of us and a smart poochy, so he would have started barking at the man)
As well, I have looked into my closet and have seen what looked like a white skull for a second which freaked me out, and my brother has told me before that he has seen the same exact skull or head too (we were sharing a room at the time)
There was even one psycho girl that said she could feel a vibe from me that I had some kind of 'gift' to tap into the supernatural, even though it is kind of hard for me to believe now sence she could have just felt electric waves being sent from one hand to the other. (very close distance, I played along with her for the hell of it)

paranormal is anything that is not something your average joe would deal with or experience so vamps count as paranormal wink
Oija board you mean? yah, those tend to get bad spirits more than anything. i dont touch them myself.
so anyone here believe in the astral plain? dunno why but a lot of friends seem adamant that it doesnt exist for some reason. anyways, basically you go to the astral plain when you are asleep, and you can project consiously into the astral plain too.

I guess you could consider vampires paranormal, sure. smile It's Ouiji board, actually. My cousin pretty much forbade me to ever use one (she made me swear I never would) as I guess she'd had a bad experience with one before. People play around with them, and even those who believe in it don't realize that if you open a door for one spirit who may be friendly, that door doesn't exactly shut and you've got a pathway to the paranormal right in your bedroom. I saw two ghosts down in the basement of one of the houses I lived in while in school. I also saw one strange shadow-man in the basement of another house owned by the school. A lot of them were supposed to be haunted, actually. The first ghost I saw there was a young girl chasing after a ball, and my friend told me he had seen that same thing when he lived there a couple of years before. I also saw an image of a girl about my age at the time, she just turned and smiled and disapeared. As for the instance I mentioned earlier, I visited Salem, MA with some friends once, and we were there at night and there was nothing to do as everything had closed up early so we were just wandering around. One of my friends really wanted to go hang out on the docks, but I got a *severly* bad feeling about it (not just a case of the creeps) and we steered clear of that area. Another autistic man I know through a forum mentioned when he visited Salem that he was very disturbed by the docks for some reason and got an air of ghostliness (and this was before I had said anything about it to him at all). Quote: There was even one psycho girl that said she could feel a vibe from me that I had some kind of 'gift' to tap into the supernatural, even though it is kind of hard for me to believe now sence she could have just felt electric waves being sent from one hand to the other. (very close distance, I played along with her for the hell of it) It's funny, we did some odd energy-sensing excercise in one of my classes in college, where you sit with a partner, facing eachother with your eyes closed, and keep your palms at a close distance from eachother to feel the other person's energy. I was definitely able to do it with my partner, not everyone could but a few others did, as well. I can also sense where people are tense by holding my hands just above the area, it feels like a distinct tingling, pulling, heated sensation.

if you have a nack for feeling energy you should practice psi. ^^
i've been practicing psi for a bit and i have had only a couple ghost incidents (one was night hag, which basically lays on you and makes you unable to move, the other time, something was just staring at me from the door of my room.) and being able to make a shield really helps. apparently psi is more tangable to a ghost than anything else.

I was under the impression that this "night hag" is actually just a night terror (I've had those a few times, as well, very frightening), which is somewhat like a waking dream. It occurs in the very early stages of sleep, while you are still somewhat aware of the room around you. It's not a real ghost. What is psi?

Civet: I learned a little later that it had something to do with electrical signals you are sending to one another, I felt the same tingling feeling that you described, but I seriously doubt it by now.
Galdon: I personally wouldn't want to, I had somebody who knew stuff about supernatural say some bad dreams I had was caused by a succubus. I seriously doubt it, but if you get yourself into a situation like that using psi or anything else like that, I'd much rather keep out of it. I don't want another one causing me to feel like I'm dying in my dreams.

well, in my case the event took place immediatelly after laying down, not in the middle of the night, anyways, a friend of mine told me the name night hag.
psi is basically using energy in your body to do stuff. the energy is usually refered to as psi, and it can be used to do a number of things (my favorite is healing)
well really, when you learn psi what happens is that as you practice and get better you get more sencitive, and begin to attract paranormal activity, but you can also make a shield to hide yourself and not have to worry about it (people who are heavily empathic really need a shield any time they go in a crowd because they'll start feeling random emotions from people) when i say shield, please do not think energy barrier or anything, i have yet to make any shield that could block something solid and doubt i ever will.

I must have spiritual energy ghosts don't like, because I never saw one before. O.o I do know about what to look for and have seen shows about haunted houses, but I have never witnessed a paranormal activity. If you're talking about aliens, same thing. BIG interest in them, no show. I do have weird dreams in which I can literally feel something. I had a recent dream in which my arm was being injected with a needle and it felt so real. I woke up with that leftover pain and soreness that acompaniess it.

Does this count?
I had a dream where my friend was trying to kill me, and in the dream, there was the view of another person in my sight, looking at me, I looked through their eyes, and saw myself, all over my neck and collarbone, covered with cuts and scratches, when I woke up, and looked in the mirror, there, right where they were in the dream, were all the cuts and scratches... they haven't gone away yet, I hope they do, soon!

that could be anything really, i've never gotten an injury to physically carry over from sleep. but it might be possible, or you might have stratched yourself while you were unconsious.

Everyone says I scratched myself.... my nails are neither long enough, nor sharp enough to scratch me.... and most of the time, I bind my hands to ensure things like that don't occur...

((It is actually possible, I know somebody who has thoes problems, and he has had painful dreams that he had felt completely sore all over the very next day.))
