Hmmm, I'm not really sure how this would happen exactly. Part of me thinks that Hinata will confess eventually, and Naruto will be suprised and clueless. XD It won't be quick, though. I think it'll definently take some time for them to warm up to each other in that way.
What bothers me is when fanfiction writers make their relationship go too far too fast. I honestly don't think Naruto would be immediately thinking on the same wavelength as Hinata and say "I like you too!" in return. He'd probably be a little suprised, because no one has really said that to him before, or felt that way about him (that he's aware of). He might be a little scared, and probably speechless. Eventually though, after letting it sink in, their relationship would begin to take shape.
I always develop my theories after reading massive amounts of fanfiction. 4laugh (It's an addiction.) But the story 'Colors of Life and Death' by Songbird21 and nearly anything by dave-d are what inspire me the most. They're really worth checking out, especially for this topic. heart

And I agree on Hinata confessing to Naruto. But, I think if she does confess, it wouldn't be that direct and all-at-once. I see it more like....Hinata gradually getting Naruto to know her feelings over time. Like, as time goes by, she makes her feelings more and more apparent to him until, finally, he realizes. X3

I think they might make a whole episode of Hinata trying to tell Naruto, and getting unsuccessful (in a funny way biggrin ). And then when she's finally too embarrased to even talk to Naruto, Naruto will go to her and make it easy. ^_^ Or at least, that's what I want. sweatdrop

X3Yeah, I agree. It's going to be so difficult for her to admit her true feelings. She's already had plenty of opportunities to admit them, like at the during the chuunin exams, random fillers, and even the sports festival. xd I think something really has to happen before she begins to make an attempt. There's gonna have to be some sort of change.
This is just an observation streaming from the fact that she hasn't seemed to have made much progress from when she was twelve to the timeskip. Maybe Naruto will be the one to make that change.

I hate it when authors establish an entire relationship in 3 paragraphs. Nobody acts like that in real life, and I seriously doubt that Naruto would suddenly like Hinata out of the blue in the anime.

I would have to agree with you there, although occasionally authors can sometimes on occasion skillfully get the two characters together in a one-shot, a couple have left me all teary-eyed (JK, i don't cry, but i've sometimes felt sort of like crying with joy at these lemons on occasion xp ) But back on topic, the way i see it happening is sort of complicated, i can't really elaborate at the moment, but it involves The kyuubi going completely out of control and Hinata snapping Naruto out of it, by confessing to him, i know it has holes, but i'm working on a scenario smile

Naruto: I can't have Sakura now..
Hinata: H-hi, Naruto-kun..
Naruto: -Thinking- She'll do.
Those are two of the ways I DON'T want it to happen. Naruto falling for Hinata right after she confesses is so unrealistic. And Naruto treating Hinata like a second place prize makes me sick.
I would probably be fine with NaruHina happening any other way. =/

lol, she's gonna have to see him as kyuubi eventually if their relationship was ever to work. When she does, Naruto will completely wear himself out with it, and collapse in Hinata's arms or something (kind of like when she collapsed in his arm respectively XD)

Kyuubi might actually terrify her, even though she really likes Naruto, and so she'd run away from him, and then he'd have to prove his love for her by rescuing her from the clutches of evil while he's full-Kyuubi.

I think Hinata will talk to Sakura about it and then after their attempts to get Naruto to notice Hinata, Sakura just tells him because he is so CLUELESS. Then they'll eventually get together.

I just -love- when Naruto takes the first move, since it shows him maturing and not being clueless. But, I'll pretty much be happy if they get together in any other way except the ones that kairi.nin suggested (which were ways that everyone would hate.)
