This is a forum for things that provoke thought on any level. (Huzzah!)

Here is an article I enjoy on the quest for truth.

It is, through much investigation and querry, my assertion is that whether an individual belongs to any group held together by ties that bend time and transcend normal social boundaries or a group of loosely knit relationships fueled by clues left by footprints of those elusively obscured, both seek truth. Some seek truth for inner completion, while others seek truth for outer conception and within these ranks lies a congregation that holds true to inate human nature inquisitive and ever searching. One must ask, at what point does the knowledge lift one's most inner being to a level of attainment? Does a 33 degree mason feel complete as a person? Does a seeker of truth serve their soul with satisfaction by disspelling all falsehoods? I present to those here with the prescence of mind and heart to ask yourself this, are those who oppose or direct any different? By no means! The path to truth one takes may be divergent from another's, but each one searches their own truth and not one truth can unify any two individuals but rather the compromise that each one's trek is universally the same regardless of the path to the truth. Therefore, brethern masons, if it be your chosen path to your fulfilled truth by the order you have freely chosen, then my hat is off to you. Likewise, brethern seekers of truth, if it be your choice to find your truth through dispelling of falsehoods, then pass the candle of light.

That being said, as being those of sound minds, let us not be as naive as to discount the inevitable fact that by election of both sides, albeit merely a few, there are those who light on the fray of either side. On one the abuse of the value of trust inherited through a tradition built upon the foundation of enlightenment, on the other the irresponsible use of select facts. I would assert and pettition to those with openess of mind, that surely there are motifs held by those with the authority to propigate a singleness of unity among diverse cultures. Let us not be blinded by our affiliations to neglect to see that which is seemingly too obvious. Likewise, let us without reservation, believe that spreading paranoia can be just as dangerous a weapon.

In conclusion, it is a double edged sword that we face and that with openness of mind we can conclude that whether right or wrong, we must seek our own truth. Regardless of the situation that bears before us, we must each live accordingly, we must learn to adapt.

..... the first few lines of that article made my brain hurt... Jeez! Where D'ya dig that up from? Please tell me it;s a joke!

[edit] It is a joke... I fell for the same thing I critisise amaricans for... I deserve a slap!

As for other theories, My brain farted and thic came out:

I have come up with a theory that the name of your country of origin has an impact on your psychology.

Take Amaricans: Optimists.

Amarican, not Amaricant, not Amarimaybe, but AmariCAN.

Break it down further Ah-Mar-I-Can.

Nothing can stop them!

Cross the border, and what do you have? CANida!

It's contageous!

And me?

Brit-ish

"Well, if I have too.... But I reserve the right to moan about it!"

I have also descovered that Amaricans, (At least the majoroty of ones that I encounter) Have a hard time with lingusitc inflictions.
You'd have thought that the country that considers itself the peacekeeper of the world, yet is the one that starts (and finishes) all the wars, would at least have a sence of irony. But no, and sarcasm! Forget it!

It's enough to make me beat my head against the wall sometimes... (Recalls experience this morning in GD) *Burrrrrrhhh*

If animals can be taught to live in peace with people, then why is it so hard for people to live in peace with each other?
PostPosted: Tue Jun 28, 2005 3:33 pm

Am I the only one here who actually fully understood that? Please don't tell me I am...I am tired of beng smarter than everyone around me!

Animals don't live in peace, they kill each other all the time.

And because we are all greedy, even if we say we aren't, and like power and money. We like to know we are stronger than other people, or faster, or smarter, or whatever and thus must constantly compete.

If mankind wants to live on other worlds, then first we need to clean up this planet in order not to make the same mistakes here on wherever else we might live in the future.

No, humans probably wouldn't do that, we are learning. In the next few generations we should have this planeto on the road to recovery...possibly...

Why not trash this one and find a better? Nothing breeds ingenuity like necessity!
