{(THE IDEA)}
An original idea formulated by myself, I wrote this as a fanfiction for one of my favourite fandoms. Now I want to see what it would be like if I were to let it loose as a roleplay, with people whose thoughts and ideas are different than my own. The way I wrote a character may not be the same as yours. The struggle for love found in my story may not take so long to overcome in your version. It may not end happily and take a drastic turn for the worst and angst shall rule over the love in the end.
Show me what you can do. Balance my ideas with yours, and make it a perfect whole.

{(STORY)}
This is a tale of two lovers – though you wouldn’t be able to tell by looking at them. An artist and their student: in love yet denying it with every fibre of their being. At least, one of them does. Fighting the tension while they create art, they are forced together – usually of their own doing. Enemies in the past, they have a new and stronger friendship now.
Can the artist at last convince the student that they are best with them?

{(RULES)}
*1- Follow Gaia's TOS ~2- What I say goes. This includes if you do something offensive with in the roleplay, or if I don't like the madeup application you have submitted. Change it, or I'll do it for you. *3- BE LITERATE! ~4- Romance is expected, but keep it PG-13, no cybering cause that's gross. *5- ALL made-up profiles must be sent to me in a pm, no exceptions. Same for Pre-mades. ~6- Title the Pm ALP *7- Lengthy posts are nice. I don't care how long, as long as it's more than 3 sentences. (Some exceptions apply.) ~8- Disregard for the rules will cause your profile to be deleted, or your Character freed for the use of someone else. You will also be put on my hate list. *9- Put a <3 at the end of your profile so that I know that you have read the rules. ~10- HAVE FUN!

{(CHARACTERS)}
The Artist: Played by: [`Auron`]
Name: Up to you Appearance: Same as above. Picture, words, or both please. Age: 25 Gender: Male Bio: From a well-off family, he attended a private boarding school from the time he was eleven, until he was seventeen. His father died while in jail for fraud and embezzlement when the artist was 16. His mother was devastated, as was he when the news got out. The discovery that people you considered friends would abandon you when you lost your power and money is not something taken lightly. They got past it, and have moved on. His mother dotes on him immensely, in her upper-class ways. Personality: Used to getting his way, determined, a romantic Occupation: Artist. Teaches others as well when he has time/decides to. Does not always do things in the “traditional” sense, will kick you out of classes if you have issues with the way he wants something done. Home: An old warehouse that he renovated a bit to serve as both studio and apartment. Lots and lots of windows everywhere to let in the natural light. (A lot takes place here.)
*~*
The Student: Played By: Possibly myself
Name: Up to you Appearance: Same as above. Picture, words, or both please. Age: 25 Gender: Female Bio: Attending the same private school, the student and artist immediately became enemies, often ending up in fist fights and leaving both in the school’s infirmary. The student’s deceased parents had not left her hard off, but the student was easily angered when the artist made comments about the people in their school who were – and the student’s best friends. In their 6th year, the artist changed dramatically. He went out of his way to be nice to the student and try to genuinely become her friend. The student was wary of him at first, but soon they were becoming friends.
More recently, the student became interested in learning art, and found the artist teaching. They have been back in contact for a short while after seven years of hardly hearing from the other. The student, at the time that begins this story, had just had a terrible break up after a year long relationship. The student also has a history of being… promiscuous. No other relationship in 7 years has lasted that long. Now, they are starting to realize that is not the solution, and has decided to wait before “falling in love” again. Personality: Moody (something that frequently ended past relationships), caring, wary, and in denial towards their feelings toward the artist. Occupation: None, other than learning to create art. (You could give them one though) Home: A regular apartment. Not far from the river were they walk to get inspiration. (Both places where things happen)
*~*
The Cousin: Played By:
Name: Up to you Appearance: Same as above. Picture, words, or both please. Age: 19 Gender: Male Bio: The artist’s cousin. He lives in another country, but visits often. Artist’s mother and his mother are sisters. Personality: Bubbly, happy, mischievous. Occupation: Playing Cupid between his cousin and the student Home: Stays with the artist when he visits.
*~*
The Mother: Played By:
Name: Up to you Appearance: Same as above. Picture, words, or both please. Age: Late 40’s Gender: Female Bio: The artist’s mother. Dotes on him greatly, demands he visits more often, and wants him to find love. She plays matchmaker as well – though she’s a lot tougher on her son’s love than her nephew is. Personality: Your typical, aristocratic lady. With a soft spot for her family. Occupation: Being a rich, middle-aged woman. Home: An hour from the artist’s warehouse. The “manor”.
NOTE: Not a character that appears often. If you have a main character, and can handle a second, this would work.
*~*
The Best Friend (#1): Played By: Chisayo
Name: Up to you Appearance: Same as above. Picture, words, or both please. Age: 25 Gender: Female Bio: Best friends with the student since their days at the private school. Contact has been touch and go for the last 7 years, but they are starting to spend more time together, although the friend lives outside of the city (Possibility of thinking of moving back). She wants to see her friend happy, but is more than frustrated with the student’s ability to completely ignore their feelings. Tries as best she can to be accepting of her old enemy for the student’s sake. Also, married to Best Friend #2. Personality: Serious and a bit of a control freak, she does know how to relax and have fun. Occupation: None specified (aka, up to you)
*~*
The Best Friend (#2): Played By:
Name: Up to you Appearance: Same as above. Picture, words, or both please. Age: 25 Gender: Male Bio: Best friends with the student since their days at the private school. Contact has been touch and go for the last 7 years, but they are starting to spend more time together, although the friend lives outside of the city (Possibility of thinking of moving back). Wants to see his friend happy – just not with the artist. Is having a hard time getting over the grudge he’s been carrying since school. Personality: Laidback and easy going, yet prideful, which is easily bruised and hard to heal. Occupation: None specified (aka, up to you)

{(APPLICATIONS)}
PM me the name, appearance, anything that isn’t specified in the outline. I don’t need the whole thing, that way I can fill in the blanks with what you give me – Title it ALP.
MADEUPS:
Since there are so few premade characters, I will let you create your own. With a few restrictions.
-I will ONLY accept them after all premade positions are filled.
-You have to have a GOOD reason. I want to know how they know both the artist and the student, why they appear, what kind of problems they might cause (ie. Jealousy is good).
-Other students of the artist, unless appearing to create a jealousy factor, are not that important. You might want to remember that.
-Follow this Outline: -Name: -Played by: -Age: (20-25, not much younger or older please) -Gender: -Bio: (Explain why they know who they know, why they appear, etc. Brief history of themselves not relating to the main characters if it is helpful.) -Personality: -Occupation: (Not really needed, but you might want one.)

{(SETTING)}
- The Artist's Warehouse: A lot takes place here. Lessons, living, angry outbursts, etc. Has windows and skylights everywhere to let in the natural light while he is working on his art. Also had walls built to make a living space. It's very awkwardly formed, but workable. (A bit like, a bunch of rooms all down one side of a hallway, and a wall separating the warehouse from the rooms. It doesn't make much sense.)
- The Student's Apartment: The warehouse and apartment are equal as to places where things happen. The artist is often found making himself welcome here, much to his student's chagrin. He's never kicked out, though comes close when he brings his rambunctious cousin along, who sometimes has a habit of hitting on the student.
- The River: Both places are really near the large river that winds through the city. Perfect for inspiration and for places to paint.
- They also do normal couple things (though they aren't one), or things friends would do, such as have lunch or dinner, go to clubs, have bad things happen to them, and offer comfort and protection. Coffee shops are a common visiting place.
*~* Description of the river - to give you an idea *~*
(The student) walked down the familiar streets of the city, not really knowing where (she) was going; just that (she) would know when (she) got there. (The student) walked past a zoo, and paused for a moment, but painting animals wouldn’t help (her) at this point. Cutesy wasn’t going to cut it. (She) continued on, constantly watching everyone around (them), wondering where or who would hold the key to (their) inspiration.
A brisk half an hour walk found (her) on the edge of the river. To be precise, (the student) was actually atop a slight hill, looking down at everything that was happening at the edge of the river. People flocked to this place, like bees to a flower’s sweet nectar. You didn’t have to be an artist to see why. The view across the river to the city beyond was breath taking. As was the water itself, as the sun sparkled and bounced off the deep blue of the water that seemed to change colours each time you looked at it. The people, they too changed, although people were indeed always there. In the summer months, when the flowers bloomed brightly against the darker colours of the city, and the sun dared to finally show itself, the warmth of the days brought out the lovers, the idealists, the romantics, the poets, and of course – the artists.
Vendors set up all along the banks of the river, each peddling something new and different than the last to the passersby. Food stalls offered a variety of samples for the young lovers who chose to picnic nearby, or to the artists and poets, who all too often got caught up their works and forgot to eat a bite all day. Different stalls sold tourist items for those that explored the riverside, and wanted to remember it. There was always a fortune teller in amongst the lot, willing to tell your future for a price, and she was surprisingly dead on with all of her customers.
Locals that had worked the docks or factories decades ago converged on the benches placed strategically here and there, all full of stories, and willing to share, whether the listener asked or not. (The student) had talked to quite a few during (their) visits, and loved to imagine the city as they told of it, before modernism had completely taken it over. The city still had its old feel to it, something that it would probably never loose, despite any changes that may occur in the future centuries.
The winter months were not quite as pleasant, as the sun hid behind clouds which rained down freezing drizzle and much too much snow. People could still be found at the river, this time on skates whizzing up and down the frozen surface instead of sitting on blankets and admiring the view. Only a few artists ever braved the ‘nice’ days to sit out in the cold and view the scene at a specific time and season, willing to do anything to complete a series of paintings. *~*

{(A LIL' HELP)}
Quotes and info from the original story to help you along.
*~* THE MOST IMPORTANT ONE! *~* “Passion. It’s all about the passion you have inside of you. A passion for art, for life, for… love. Without passion, you shouldn’t even try to be an artist. You have to treat your art like a lover. Of course, this is easiest with sculpture; but you have to put your passion and love into all your art, like you would with a lover.” He stopped his wandering, considering the side wall of the room. Moving closer, he pressed his front against the cool wall, his face turned to most of the class, every part of him plastered to the wall.
“You have to feel it. Deep inside you. Touch it, the lines, the curves, and memorize them like you would the lines and curves of your lover.” He accentuated this by running the palm of his hand up the wall, tracing his fingertips over the lines of the brick.
Only (name) could make a wall look that sexual and turn on every single one of his students at the same time. *~*
*~* “Why should all art be done in a traditional sense? Don’t you think that gets boring? Wouldn’t you want to do something new? Maybe something that might spark something, an interesting ideal or concept? Something people will be intrigued by?” *~*
