A slight frown drew upon the adolescents maw as he thumped his tail dully, no zest whatsoever or lively saunter that kept up a lively presence, upon the ground. Where were the girls? Why did the pack seem so desolate? Without any females present, Leith felt as if his yearning desire to "woo" and impress the opposite sex was at an all time low. The white and gold swirled male knitted his brows and slumped over on his side, his two colored eyes of emerald green and a calm, serene blue drifted outside of the den and towards the world outside that was frosted and consumed in snow.

Wasn't winter suppose to be more thrilling?

"Darius, bro," he called out with a solemn, sadistic tone as he lifted his head slightly up from the cold, stone ground of their family den. "How are two decent, outstanding, males such as ourselves suppose to get our charm on when the ladies are in short supply?"

His brows furrowed slightly as he shifted his black dipped paws and flickered his ears. Darius seemed to have luck, more luck than Leith did, with women but, sometimes, Leith seemed to pull ahead in deciphering what exactly a female was looking for. One thing was sure that both of the brothers were skilled in different aspects of giving a wolfess what she wanted to hear and what she expected out of any male. But a present feeling of loneliness continued to grow stronger and it felt as if a piece of him was still missing.

"Think we should take a stroll and find some suitable subject?"

Darius wasn't even trying to look beautiful or proud today. What was the point? This place seemed stripped of any and all available females. What was wrong with this place? Sighing, he lay rather awkward on his back, his hind legs flat on the ground while his front legs lay curled upright against his chest. His head was back, and his tongue was flopping out uncharacteristically. He looked stupid.

As his brother spoke to him, he moved his head to glance at the white wolf. As he did so, his body flopped completely over, making him grunt slightly and groan. That didn't feel good.

Readjusting himself, he shook his head then blink at Leith. "Beats me, bro," he admitted. "Honestly, I think I'm going to rot in this place if I don't see some pretty, feminine beast soon." He sighed, rolling onto his stomach and yawning. He felt too bored. He wasn't supposed to be doing this! He wasn't supposed to be lounging in his parents' den. He was supposed to be chasing the females, wooing them and having fun!

This was not fun.

At the suggestion that they go for a walk to try and find something, he immediately perked up. "Yeah!" he said, seeming almost a bit too excited. It was obvious he wanted to get out. Now.

"Maybe we'll find some beatiful maiden who just desperately needs our attention." High hopes, but whatever. You never knew when someone would come randomly stumbling upon your boring homeland.

The thought of simply rotting away within such a desolate place did not appeal in the slightest to the young adolescent. "How could these packlands lack in the female department? This ain't right, you know?" No, by the standards of the white and gold swirled male this was not right at all!

As the black and mossy green male yawned, so did Leith. His maw opened wide as his tounge lolled out of his mouth in a careless fashion.

There were no females around so he didn't have to try to impress anyone yet to let his guard down and not be up to par in attempting to sweep any ladies off their paws seemed strange.

With the given suggestion and seeing Darius's reaction, a sly grin curled upon the males maw as he practically jumped onto all paws and growled softly with anticipation. He had been wanting to drift away from the packlands and see what else was beyond the borders and, with the day being so bland, the opportunity was too perfect to pass up.

Damu and Taima were off somewhere along with Kaede, Rei and Nasrin and only Leith and Darius were left to wallow in their sadness of being lady-less. But now was their time to bounce back into action and try to revive their charm and rescue any wolfess that was in trouble or needed some new flare in her life.

What better way to spice up the life of a female then having two attractive males strut across her way?

"Or maybe we'll find some lovely ladies who could use some lovin! Maybe they'll be sisters...twins would be better!" Even higher and precise hopes but every male needed to keep his spirits high even if it was a bit of fantasy.

"It's unbearable," he groaned. "I can't believe mom and dad chose this place. There's no excitement, no thrill."

As they both readied themselves, Darius had his own sly grin plastered across his handsome face. Like his brother, he didn't feel there was ever a better time to go searching for females than that very moment. They weren't doing anything else, and their family was away for the day. And, who knew, there could have been some damsel in distress as they lay there, lazy bums! Such gentlemen they were.

Rising quickly to his paws at this thought, he shook out his fur and panted excitedly at his brother. He was ready to go.

"Twins!" he gasped, already imagining him and his brother coming upon the most beautiful pair of females in the entire world. And they would fall for him and Leith. Oh, they wouldn't stand a chance! Sure, him and his brother might have been a bit rusty, but they had genuine charm. No lady could resist.

"What are we waiting for?" Eager to get away from this place, he quickly leaped out of the den, his tail wagging slightly. Bring on the ladies, he thought with smug satisfaction.

A broad, unbearable smile brimming with a suave and irresistable nature slid onto Leith's maw as he nodded with zest. "Twins! The most breathtaking, stunning girls with the sweetest voice and the most beautiful fur you've ever seen!"

Like the many times they had shared their dreams of finding the perfect girl, the young adolescent knew what he wanted; Leith wanted a girl that was sweet, one that had a sense of humor and liked to have fun and, of course, a girl that loved him for who he was and that wanted to spend the rest of her life with him and even have a family. Yes, Leith was ambitious and was a bit of a dreamer yet finding that "special someone" was one of his high prorities.

Watching as his brother wasted no time in leaving the den behind, Leith lunged into full strides and burst out from the family hideaway. "Come on, bro! Let's go!"

Feeling the soft, fresh powder underfoot and having his paws occasionally sink down into the depths of the snow didn't stop the white and gold swirled adolescent from seeking out females in distress. His tounge lolled out of his mouth as his maw gaped open, panting with pure exhilaration as he darted through the packlands in search for any females or any signs of life for that matter.

"Come on Dar!"

Darius howled his excitement. He was up and ready to finally run across some beautiful females. And the description that his brother gave him only made him crave that perfect wolfess even more. Taking long, hard strides, the wolf kept pace with his brother, his tail flying out behind him.

Not too far away, perhaps a mile, two females traversed the landscape, side by side. It was Hallie, out with her niece Eli. It was strange, and the seer still hadn't gotten used to the fact that her sister had puppies, but she did her best to live with that fact and to accept it at least. Which was why she had tried to spend a little time with her sister's offspring, taking them places and hunting with them. Eli she seemed to like the best, probably because she reminded her of her mother.

"Come on, Eli," she said smoothly. Though Eli was around the same age as Hallie herself, her mind wasn't so advanced. It wasn't that she was stupid, it was more that she thought like a child and sometimes acted like one. Thus, she needed the reinforcement that a child needed.

Wagging her tail, Eli followed closely on the heels of her aunt. "Go cloud watching?" she asked eagerly, wiggling. She loved looking at the clouds, more than anything else, and she wanted nothing more than to be able to stare at them and all their beauty, all day long. Hallie smiled, but shook her head.

"Not today, Eli. We're looking for something else," she replied, purposely being vague. The brown female, her interest caught, perked up and walked faster. She had taken the bait, and Hal lifted her head in satisfaction. She hadn't used her seer powers for that one. She had predicted that one all on her own. It felt good, but a bit strange. She liked her powers, and had gotten used to them as of late.

The brown female broke ahead of her, but she seeress became immediately aware of something.

"Eli," she rushed. "Eli, get back here." The other wolf stopped, confused, but she obeyed. "What is it, Auntie?"

"Something's coming."

Freedom! Sweet freedom!

The winter had created a tendency to stay close to home as dealing with snowfall and the possibility of getting caught within a storm never did sound too pleasing. But now Leith was out and running alongside his crafty brother, Darius, with his paws soaring across the top of the snow and a feeling of weightlessness overtaking him with a given sensation as if he could fly. This is what he craved! Leith wanted to take more adventures alongside his brother and to find those wonderous ladies who could use a good wolfs help.

That's what Darius and Leith were; Good Samaritans.

Looking ahead with some sort of goofy grin set wide across his maw, Leith's eyes widened slightly and narrowed as he knitted his brows together.

Were those- were those females?

"Dar! Do you see what I see?" He howled with pure thrill as his two toned eyes narrowed in on the two wolfess's. "Twelve o'clock! Beautiful, beath-taking girls! Think they need help?"

Darius flew over the snow, running besides his swirled brother. They were free from their prison that had been the den, the den in which they had spent the majority of their winters. The snow storms here seemed worse than anywhere else, and their mother had confined them there. But, finally! They were out, able to stretch their legs and encounter more than ten feet of woods. It felt absolutely rejuvinated.

For a moment, he had almost forgotten what they had left the den for. The feeling of soaring over the snow just gave him a sense of pure bliss, and that was all that mattered to him in all but a moment. Yet then his brother yelled something at him, something about females.

Instantly, he snapped back. Females! Finally, they were seeing something other than white snow and the walls of their den. It was a great relief.

"I see what you see, bro!" he howled, the sudden aspect of females making him run even faster. His breaths were visible on the air, but he barely saw them for more than half an instant. He was running so fast he felt he could actually leave the ground. Which might have been a bit dangerous, considering the closeness of the two females. But they backed up, even though they didn't seem quite aware of the two males.

Confused, he tried to slow down, but he had already gained too much momentum. His paws slowed, but his body still seemed to be moving as his earlier speed. This caused an imbalance, which then caused him to tumble head over paws and go face-first into the snow.

Standing next to his landing spot was Hallie, along with her niece Eli. And the older of the two appeared to have an amused, almost knowing, look upon her face.

Though he lacked in the department of pure charm and comfort with the opposite sex, Leith slowed his pace and let his brother Darius take the lead. Without a doubt, Leith knew that his brother was more than comfortable around females and that he knew all too well about how to try to sweep them off their feet. Keeping up a decent pace as wreaths of fog emitted from his maw, the swirled male settled his gaze upon the two females and his brother who was- still running too fast and headed right towards them?

This didn't look good.

Helplessly watching from afar, Leith winced and gritted his teeth as if he could feel the pain and the wash of embarassment overcome him just as it might have for Darius.

"Bro!" He called out, hatening his step but carefully padding towards the two standing wolfess's and his fallen brother. "You alright, Darius?" Concerned, the white and gold male knitted his brows and tried to help his brother stand, nudging and attempting to lift him up. But a mild distraction came into play as the young adolescent looked up towars both Hallie and Eli. Leith stalled momentarily, biting his lower lip and smiling warmly.

"Oh, sorry for the intrusion ladies," he commmented with a sheepis grin.
"I'm Leith and this," he inclined towards the fallen wolf before them, "is my brother, Darius. Who might you lovely ladies be?"

There was no need for Leith to go feeling embarassed for his brother; there was far too much embarassment in his being already to fill the oceans of the world. Groaning, the darker of the two brothers rose to his paws, although he rather wished he didn't. For, when he raised his head, he looked straight into the face of Hallie, that of which looked all too amused.

"Have a nice trip?" she said lamely, although the unhidden amusement in her tone made the question sting terribly. There was a huge grin plastered on her face, and it made Darius' fur prickle.

Looking up at the lighter of the two, the seer's face passed into stern seriousness. "So you're Darius' brother?" she asked, although there didn't seem to be much shock in the question. It was as if she already knew that, even though she'd never met Leith before.

He's so much of a talker as Darius, the wolf thought to herself, almost with disgust. She knew all too well the ways of Darius, and she didn't like that the family seemed to carry all of the same traits. What ever happened to gentlemen, males who actually cared about the females and not what they could get from them?

"I'm Hallie," she replied, her tone a bit flat with annoyance. "And this," she said, motioning with a toss of her head towards the brown female, "is my niece, Eli." She shot Darius a glance, as if telling him not to get any funny ideas. But he wasn't looking at her. He was watching Eli, a bit too keenly for the aunt's liking. Her hackles rose slightly, and she narrowed her eyes. No one was getting to her family, and definitely not Darius or this Leith.

But Eli didn't notice. She wiggled, a silly grin on her face. "Eli!" she said, repeating her own name for no apparent reason. "Darius? Leith... Eli!" She wiggled again.

Hal glared at both males. She didn't want any funny business with her niece.

Leith gave a slightly puzzled look as he knitted his brows and nodded. "Yes, I'm Darius's brother." Shifting his gaze somewhat curiously to the darker male, Leith tilted his head slightly. "I'm sorry, maybe I'm jumping to conclusions but do you two know each other?"

There was something about the natural pelted female that made him feel somewhat uncomfortable- almost as if she already knew him. Yes, Leith did try to learn from his brother and engage in trying to sweep the ladies off their feet but he still had a heart and hid away his secret wishes and emotions that could never freely be expressed in the presence of his brother. Shrugging his shoulders as his tail swayed behind him in a non-chalant manner, the adolescent smiled as best he could.

"A pleasure," he softly spoke with a nod of his head to both Hallie and Eli.

It was Darius who held the knowledgable ways of causing woman to fall head over paws but, as for Leith, he sometimes was shifting into the ways of his father; remembering the things he had taught him and implimenting the way that he treated their mother, Taima, with chivalry and love. It didn't hurt to try it out ever so often, right?

The white and gold swirled male couldn't help but grin as he slinked his forepaws forwards and wagged his tail behind him in an estatic manner.

"Hi Eli!" He barked with enthusiasm as he gazed towards her with a slightly goofy grin and his two toned eyes. "Do you wanna play?"

Hallie grinned at the white brother, a sort of creepy grin that gave away that she might have known more than was normal. After all, they had never met before. She had only met Darius, and he had never spoken of his family.

"Smart boy," she commented. "Unfortunately, we do know each other," she replied, huffing as she looked at Darius, who by now had himself centered and was looking at the seer again. But it was obvious to see that he wanted to learn more about Eli. He had always been a womanizer, she didn't need to be a seer to know that. It worried her at what he might be thinking, and she was in no mood to enter his mind and find out for herself.

Now Leith, on the other hand...

He hadn't seemed quite so forward as his brother, and he almost had a chivalrous look to him. Watching him carefully, she began to probe into his mind, but she was careful. Past experiences had taught her to be cautious and take things slow when dealing with minds. They were delicate things, easily damaged. And since she had so much power, she felt she was always holding herself back so that she wouldn't hurt anyone.

Eli wiggled excitedly, eager to make friends with these wolves. Auntie Hal had always told her having friends was a good thing, especially in this cruel world. Why not start with these fellows?

"Yeah!" she cried, her bum wriggling with her mile-a-minute tail. But Hallie was more hesitant. Even though she had found Leith's deepest desires to find the right wolf, one that liked him for him, she still felt that he would be easily influenced by his brother. But, she supposed, so long as they stayed near, there couldn't be any harm.

"Tag!" the brown female cried, leaping forward and tagging Leith with her nose, then moving back swiftly. But her balance was off, and she suddenly fell flat on her face.

Hallie groaned. Darius grinned.

He couldn't pinpoint it.

There was something unique about the wolfess, Hallie, but he didn't know how to explain it.

Leith gave a small smile and shrugged his shoulders. "Out of the two of us someone had to have the brains," he chuckled softly, his tail swaying relaxed and more casually behind him. Just as he was to speak, an odd sensation seemed to tap at his mind. He furrowed his brows slightly and shook his head. Strange- was he getting sick? Maybe he ate something funny? Leith wasn't too sure but whatever it is or was, he let it roll off his shoulders.

There was no time to think about what was plauging him.

It was time to play!

"Okay!" He called out, paws aching and yearning to run again as well as rid of all the excess energy he had lying about within his body. A boy had to do something to tire himself out and having fun was the best way to satisfy that craving and need for exhilaration and excitement.

Expressing surprise and sheer bliss, Leith let his jaw drop and his fun loving nature break free as she tapped him with her muzzle. "Hey! Okay, I'm gonna get you!" He laughed, crouching low and leaping a few moments behind her, but watching almost in a helples manner as she stumbled within the snow and toppled, the young adolescent bit his lower lip.

"Eli!" He yipped, hoping the young wolfess wasn't hurt. Hastening to pad at her side, Leith delicately nuzzled her in reassurance and nudged her with his nose. "Are you okay, Eli?"

Leith was sensitive and was tender hearted; he couldn't just stand idle and not offer help. Softly whining and concerned, the young male sunk on his stomach next to her.

"Can I help you up?"
PostPosted: Sun Jan 28, 2007 11:23 am

Hallie pulled herself from the other's mind, feeling his suspicion prickle in her own body. He really was a smart boy. Darius had never felt her--or at least never showed that he did--when she had entered his mind. But then again, she had always thought he was dumb.

Grinning at the white and gold swirled male, she looked towards his brother. Dar didn't seem pleased with that statement, though he refused to spit a retort at his brother. There was a connection between them, and she was surprised that he actually had the sense to honor a bond. She never really thought he was a particularly loyal wolf, nor one with feelings that could be hurt. But it seems that she was wrong. And for a moment, she felt herself feeling sorry for him. But she shook the feeling quickly. This was still Darius.

Sitting herself down, she watched Eli and the white wolf. She was watching him, making sure he kept his grimy paws to himself. He was too closely related to the womanizer Darius to let off the hook.

Yet as her niece fell flat on her face and just stayed there, wailing, Hallie immediately rose and stood protectively over the brown wolf. "Eli," she whispered, knowing that speaking frantically and as if the world were going to end wouldn't be good for the smaller female. Eli often got stressed and freaked out when others were worrying about her. So she spoke calmly, nudging her quietly.

As Leith came over and tried to help, asking if he could help her up, the seer looked at him with cold eyes. She didn't want him touching Eli, but she really couldn't snap at him for fear of being rude. He was doing nothing wrong. In fact, he was doing better than his brother. He was at least acting like he cared a single drop about someone else. So, she backed off, sitting down and merely watching.

She glanced over at Darius, who was grinning from ear to ear like a bafoon. He could see her dilemma, and it amused him to no end. She narrowed her eyes at him.

Eli, meanwhile, squirmed and whined. That had hurt! The stupid snow... why did it have to go and trip her like that? What had she done to it? Falling over onto her side like a tiny puppy, she groaned and blinked at Leith. "Clumsy Eli!" she cried, sniffling. Her face didn't feel good.

He wasn't too sure on how to react to Hallie as she seemed to glare at him with eyes that were stern, agressive as if they were ready to set him a-blaze. But he could understand and relate to her protective nature, especially when it was dealing with a family member. He folded his ears back and let his tail hang limp behind him. There was no need to persuade her otherwise or attempt to move Hallie, he would let her make the decision.

Smiling warmly and trying to lessen the edgey feeling from the female (if that was even possible), Leith focused on Eli and shifted his right forepaw towards her, placing it slightly atop of the females.

"No," he spoke with a soft, serene voice, "Eli isn't clumsy. Everyone is clumsy!" Rising up to his forepaws with a goofy grin plastered upon his maw, Leith wagged his tail. "Watch!"

Leaping suddenly and swiftly, the white and gold swirled male let his forepaws slide underneath him and caused him to topple over, face plummeting into the snow and sprawling out in an awkward manner. Shaking the snow off of his muzzle and his body, the young adolescent chuckled softly and peered back towards the brown wolfess. "See! Even I'm clumsy! It's the snow's fault since it's so slippery."
