The oddest sight that anyone ever would see was Hasidi, a relatively smaller earthy red lion, dragging a dead zebra slowly through the golden grasses, each step was: step, step, limp..drag..limp, step...over and over again he limped and drug the carcass. He wanted to prove to Kari that he could hunt, he could provide. Even if he had never actually been with an adult male to see this, he assumed it was best to provide then to ask her to do so. His current physical state was healthier than in earlier months, he would be able to travel, but he knew in his heart his limp would remain, a constant reminder of his past.
His mind swam with the idea of his first kill and the thought of Kari enjoying it. He felt a lust inside of him that he had never felt before, something that was awakened and hungered within him. His thoughts turned to the idea of being close to Kari, and not in a sense he had ever imagined…his childlike mind was trying its best to reach for a concept just out of its reach.
As he walked..no you couldn't call that walking, limped his way back to the last place he had seen Kari, he had left her sleeping. The red lion had snuck away as quietly as he could to surprise her. The earth was still cold from the cool night before, and the sun was still starting to rise.

Kari knew shortly after Hasidi had left earlier that morning thats he was alone. Her eyes peeked open to confirm so, and when they did she had only a little trouble getting back to sleep. So close to morning, she knew it was time to get up soon anyway- not to mention she wondered why Hasidi had gone off. By the time Hasidi was on his way back, she was wide awake after only having dozed back off.
Her decision was made and her goodbyes had been said, though she did hope she would see her friends again someday. She was sitting up and watching the sunrise, wondering when Hasidi would return- looking in the wrong direction to see him approaching.

Draging a little further he dropped his kill, Chuakari had come into his sight and she was, in his oppinion at least, breath taking. Her soft pink pelt, and the outlined silohette made him think that he had made of the best decisions of his life leaving the Kusini'mwenzi lands for and wandering. Yes, he had had his share of pain, the limp in his left leg was not a good one for traveling, and the attack he suffered by the Queen of the hyenas. But that pink cheetahess, she made it all worth it, she made everything fit neatly in his scattered mind.
"Lose something..?" The soft tan color of his face was painted with the blood of the zebra, and drops clung in his fur...he maybe able to kill, but cleaning may be an issue.

Kari was never one for paying attention to her senses, always finding something more fun- though rarely more important- to do. She did, however, catch the sound of the footsteps just before the thud of the kill hitting the ground. She glanced back over her shoulder with a smile on her face, pleased to have him back.
"So it would seem," she said, and then gasped in surprise when she noticed the blood that covered him. For a moment, she had a flashback of when she'd found him after those horrible beasts had attacked him- ignoring the fact that he was cheerful and had a dead zebra at his feet for the moment. She got to her feet and turned all the way around before she realized what had happened. He'd gone hunting and caught a whole zebra..
"Hasidi," she gaped a moment longer before grinning at him and adding in a joking tone, "You're covered in blood."

Huffing and puffing he smiled, of course he was covered in blood, he just killed a zebra! "Well, those zebras tend to leak a lot...." he trotted over to her, ignoring the pain that flared in his leg from such a switft action, "Hunting is a lot harder than it looks, there was an entire herd, and this one was trailing behind. " He nodded and felt that feeling of lust return to him as he looked up into her soft eyes.
"I hope that it's alright, my first time doing it, and I just..." he blushed, something that would never bee seen under the red paint across his face. His heart pattered as he thought back to the thrill of hunting, "Some day we will teach our sons to hunt," he said in a matter-of-fact tone. His brother had promised to take him hunting..but he had left before the time came to do so, he hoped that he would be able to show Tafari how he had grown.

Kari giggled at Hasidi's comment about the leaky zebras, and stepped up to him- licking him on the cheek. It was both affectionate and almost helpful in cleaning away some of the blood. She didn't pay any attention to the blood as she snuggled her head into his mane proudly.
"You did very well!" she exclaimed fondly, "I can't really hunt, my fur pretty much shouts that I'm around." The small cheetah leaned out a bit, smiling at him- and then started at the mention of sons. It was surprising to even hear that kind of conversation come up, and part of her still had her doubts that lions and cheetahs could have cubs together. But she would never voice these doubts, especially right now.
"Of course we will," she replied in a somewhat dreamy voice, leaning against him, "You will, at least." Another small laugh escaped her at the idea of teaching another to hunt. She had the tips Lefika had given her, but she'd never really be able to execute them.

His heart leap as she licked and snuggled against him, he leaned down and licked the top of her head, "If you're hungry..dig in? I'd like to sit down for a moment." There was a glimmer in his eye that said point blank his thoughts were not on sleeping, or eating for that matter.
"If you don't like zebra..I can find something else, I'm used to eating small things hare, fish, and genet?" He grinned his bight teeth contrasting the dark color that covered him, "We can do a lot of fishing in the sea, I bet," he wasn't aware that there was a tide, that the waves crashed against the shore and it would be hard for him to fish with those conditions. His optomism would be the thing to get them through, she was to bright to hunt and he would make up for that.

Hungry as she might have been, Kari was more than content to stay snuggled up against her love. She could not see his eyes or guess his thoughts, but her own thoughts were a tangle of various things that were also not sleeping or eating. She was impressed with his hunting, she was eager to see the sea, and the mention of sons made her stomach feel funny. No, she was happiest right where she was.
"Sit and rest, then," she murmured, nudging him playfully, "The zebra is wonderful, you did very good." She trailed off there, not mentioning anything about the sea or her excitement at their going there. She only nodded her agreement on the fishing comment, imagining such a hunt by the water.

The small lion flopped down, his belly hitting the ground with a soft thud, his left leg jutted out oddly so that it would not be squished beneath his weight, the other legs tucked neatly beneath him. He tilted his head looking at Kari in an odd manner.
"Kari..I um... I love you with my whole heart, and I'll do what it takes to keep you by my side. I know that our..erm..relationship is a bit weird, I come from a lion pride and you a cheetah coalition..but...it's all so romantic how it turned out..will you stay with me forever..? Will you umm... have my cubs? I mean, not right now, I..don't know how cubs are really made.." His voice cracked and he looked down at his paws oddly, how was he supposed to ask that in any other fashion? He had asked similiar questions, but none like this.
The thought that he and Kari could never procreate never entered his mind, she was his, and he her's so of course they would be able to have children, just like any other mature couple?

Kari found herself suddenly up a bit higher than Hasidi as he flopped to the ground to take a rest, and she smiled down at him. When she saw the odd look he had, and he started a somewhat strange speech. The butterfly-lke feeling in her stomach grew as he spoke, and she lowered herself into a laying position at his side so she would be closer to eye level with him.
They'd already had a conversation about their love, she had no doubts about that. The request to stay with him always and have his cubs, however, left her speechless. So she looked back at him, her eyes reflecting the love and surprise she felt. Finally, she had to smile and hold back a small laugh at him for admitting he did not know how to get cubs. That only meant she'd either have to explain or show him.
"Of course," she agreed finally in a somewhat hushed voice, "I love you more than anything, Hasidi. You know that." With a sigh, she snuggled into him once again. She might have her own doubts about their ability to have cubs, but she would never let Hasidi down by telling him so. She couldn't imagine wanting anything other than to be with Hasidi always and have a family.

Nearer to noon time, Kari drifted back to consciousness after having fallen back asleep despite what she'd thought. The butterflies in her stomach were gone and long forgotten, and now she simply felt happy. She slowly got ready to wake back up, a bit surprised to find the time of day it was. With a yawn and a stretch, she glanced about to see where Hasidi was.

Hasidi sat silently, in the awkward pose he could usually be found in, one hind foot sticking out and the other tucked beneath him, he had wandered away from her a bit and was now behind her. A warm smile spread across his face and dark amber orbs focused on Kari. He watched as she slept, and breathed lightly, his eyes tracing every curve of her lanky cheetah body. He had never found a creature so beautiful, never thought about a creature in a loving manner the way he cared for her.
He realized that she was beggining to stir and a sense of pride swelled in his chest, he had "tamed" something that most males thought impossible, he had "caught" a woman, and she loved him, goodness did she love him! Thinking of what they had done together the heat rose in his face and he was so excited to speak with her..so excited to run off and start there life, where ever it may lead them.
"Do you still think me a bumbling fool...?" An odd question to wake up to, but it would give away where he was sitting, and he was quite curious. He remembered when they met that he stumbled and stuttered over everything, and he was bound to do it again...but after knowing each other so well, he was curious to hear her answer, "I think I'm a lot braver now."

Kari was somewhat surprised not to find Hasidi right away, and looked over her shoulder- where her surprise increased when she found him there smiling at her. When she met his eyes, he asked her the strangest question imaginable and her smile only deepened. She'd never thought of Hasidi as a bumbling fool, and if she ever had it was long forgotten. There was no arguing that was certainly had gotten a lot braver than he had been.
Still smiling, she lifted herself up out of the grass and circled around to face Hasidi. For a moment, it felt like the butterflies returned to her stomach but it passed as she smiled at her love.
"I've never thought that about you," she replied, walking over and nuzzling against him.

He smirked pleasantly his heart pattered as she nuzzled him, he willingly, and quickly nudged back. He shifted his eyes to the half eaten carcass, after the red lion and brilliant pink cheetahess had consumated(Sp?) thier love they took to eating the zebra hungrily, they both seemed to be such light eaters, hopefully they would find people to accept them that would share meals.
The thought of seeing others brough an idea to his mind, "Shouldn't we get moving to the sea...and..um.. of course I was a bumbler.... I still am, but I'll get smarter, I promise. I'll learn as much as I can," he thought that their adventure to the sea would make sure of that, after all traveling so far..to see so much!
