This has nothing to do with grammar, but have you ever thought that someone was talking to you or waving at you and you replied when they meant to talk or wave to someone else?

Yep, horrible. Isn't it. I never reply unless I know the person now.

Yes; I did just the other day in fact. But this should probably be in the general discussion subforum, but I'm sure it'll be moved there.

I didn't quite read your statement, so I have no idea what you mean. I will answer on my behalf though. Yes this has happened to me.

I've done it before. I rememvber this one time I was waving at my friend, and this other person next to them waved at me with a weird expression.

Ugh! I hate it when that happens so much. Or even when you hear your name called out and you turn around and someone rushes past you waving at someone else.

Smoozle Ugh! I hate it when that happens so much. Or even when you hear your name called out and you turn around and someone rushes past you waving at someone else. That drives me nuts, too. My name stars with a "sha" sound, so sometimes when I hear people say "Shut up" I think they're calling out my name angrily, but really they're just complete strangers talking to someone else.

My name stars with a "sha" sound, so sometimes when I hear people say "Shut up" I think they're calling out my name angrily, but really they're just complete strangers talking to someone else. Or when they call your name and that person with the same name happens to be right beside you. Last semesiter in choir the girl next to me had my same name. sweatdrop Awhile ago I saw my brother walking across the way (100 or 200 feet I guess away) and I kind of called his name and waved at him to get his attention, and this old guy who was a few feet from my bro closer to me, waved back and smiled...it was very werid. sweatdrop
