Personality: Sam Makhent, during the day, is quiet and thoughtful, sometimes shy. He focuses on studying, but would love to be a hero in civilian clothes, although he often has little confidence in his normal persona. As with some super heroes, when he dons the ‘Zero’ guise, he seems to tap a well of limitless confidence. He switches to being almost terminally optimistic. He has also evolved a very mercurial sense of humour as a soundtrack to his super heroics. He occasionally feels the need to burst into song or quote random trivia.

Origin of Powers: Zero’s body was mutated at birth, his eyes were sensitive to light and he had a habit of deepening shadows he was near. He grew up and his powers developed further. The exact scientific reasoning behind them is unknown; it is believed to be some way of absorbing light and the twisting of dimensions.

Background: Originally Zero instinctively twisted shadows around him. His eyes grew accustomed to light and he reined in his powers, over time he became able to intricately control them, and learned the true potential of them.

He hid his powers from everyone, at school and at home, and became quite withdrawn. Zero became more sociable during his last few years at secondary school and passed his final exams with flying colours, leading him to be offered places at many universities, including Oxford and Cambridge. He also received an offer from NYU, which he eagerly accepted; in a bid to kick start a super hero career in the city with the largest superhuman population in the world.

Zero is currently studying biology and chemistry during the day, and fights crime during the evening.

Eyes: Zero’s eyes are bright blue. When Zero stands in shadows, they absorb what light remains and shine in the darkness.
Hair: Around 3 ins. long, all over, and jet black. It rarely sees a comb.

Powers:

Umbrakinesis: Zero can deepen shadows and create small areas of total darkness. As well as become invisible, by reflecting light, and intangible. Zero can use shadows as teleportational portals, stepping into one and emerging from another. Zero often manifests semi-tangible shadows as a sort of black smoke from under his cape.

Flight: Zero is capable of flight at a top speed of almost 90 miles per second. He can also walk on air and float.

Empathy: Zero is empathic, able to sense the emotions of those around him. He also has some limited ability to control those emotions.

Infrared Vision: Zero can see perfectly in total darkness.

Weaknesses: As a toddler, Zero was involved in a fire and, as a result, now has severe pyrophobia.
Zero possesses the same physical vulnerabilities as any human, with the exception of illnesses and poisons, to which he has an extraordinary immunity.
Zero is slightly sensitive to incredibly bright light, and can be stunned by triggering a bright strobe directly in his eyes.

Special Skills & Abilities: Zero is highly intelligent; he is very skilled at using his powers. Zero is very agile, although not superhumanly so, and skilled at acrobatics. He is an average hand-to-hand combatant.

Equipment/Weapons: Zero’s costume is black. The gloves, boots, and belt are a slight variation on black, but nevertheless, black. It is designed to blend in with the shadows he wields. Zero carries blackout bombs, small pellets, in containers on his waist, which are non-lethal and produce solid clouds of black smoke over a 10 metre radius. They vary in design and Zero is constantly adpating them for specific use.
Other: Zero’s hero, his inspiration for his foray into crime fighting, is Spider-man, which is almost immediately obvious when looking at the mask of his costume. Zero maintains a staunch hatred of firearms, and of anyone that uses them. He often shows little hesitation when fighting anyone who wields a gun.

Age: 16
Gender: Female
Identity: Known to an extent.
Alliance: Good
Affiliation: She is usually seen alone since she's a nomad, but she will take on companions if the opportunity presented itself.
Occupation: She's doesn't have a job at the moment, not has not been in school for a year now.
Family/Friends: Unknown.
Personality: She's pretty tough, but she has to be given the circumstances of her life. She's irrational and stubborn. She hates to be wrong. She can be goofy and imature at certain times, but for the most part she is mature for her age. If something is getting to her, she doesn't show it, and she tends to bottle up her emotions and they all seem to come out at once at some other point in time.
Place of Birth: Houston, TX.
Origin of Powers: She was born with it.

Background: Her parents discovered her 'gift' when she was a baby when they found her crib set on fire and she was not hurt by the flames. After that, they realized she couldn't control it very well, so they sent her to get some help. The doctors helped very little, only taught her to control them to an extent, but she was still wild and not completely able to. They began to ask Traci's parents if they could conduct more tests on her to discover more about her 'mutation', but her parents refused to let that happen to her and took her away.

Not too long after, Traci's parents died when their house was lit up in flames by an unknown cause. Traci was thirteen years old, and people who knew of her gift began to blame her for what happened, saying she did it, so she took off all alone and so began her wandering.

Hair: Her red hair falls to her mid-back and it's straight and stringy on the ends.

Powers: She a pyro. She can create and manipulate flames.

Weaknesses: Ice and water can put out her flames, obviously. Usually when it is too cold or too damp outside, she cannot use her ability to its fullest and if cold enough, not at all. She also still cannot control her power as well as she should.

Special Skills & Abilities: She loves to write a lot and has a bag full of unfinished novels in her possession.

Equipment/Weapons: The only other weapon she has besides her ability is a small pocket knife she carries around with her. Traci is usually seen wearing blue-jeans and a t-shirt (black, preferably) along with black shoes and her black long-sweater. She also wears black gloves that are cut off at the finger tips and have the logo for 30 Seconds to Mars on the top. She wears a silver cross around her neck.
Other: She has a tatoo of a red phoenix on her upper back where it meets the neck. (Just the phoenix)
