Ártali Ísjaki Due to Donner’s paranoia and xenophobia, this herd has established a territory slightly apart from the other deer, right at the fringes of the forest. They avoid the coast and stick to the inland, due to a rather embarrassing incident involving several seals and Rudolph. Donner’s orders are to avoid other herds, but several of the younger and more accepting deer are questioning these commands and have been questing nearby the other herds. By this point, even Donner is thinking about making some sort of contact, on the basis that his herd cannot continue to live on the fringes forever, especially since he expects it to get larger. Most of the reindeer in this herd were kept by men out of curiosity, as show pieces and the like. Kept to their corral, the reindeer were expected to tame easily, but the men quickly discovered how wrong they were. Once they realized how troublesome the deer were, the reindeer were simply released into the wild, left to their own devices. They were expected to succumb to the unfamiliar environment, but, as it turns out, each and every member of the herd had something to lend to survival in this unfamiliar terrain. Even Rudolph was able to provide something, although in his case it was the lesson of, ‘Don’t go too near the shoreline lest you want to get chased around by seals’. While in captivity, the reindeer saw little need for a real council, as every decision was already made for them by the humans. However, now in the wild, Donner has stepped forward as an unofficial leader. Some of the others, especially Dasher, take issue with this. Now that they are getting settled in, they are seeing to developing a more permanent Council.

Weather
Spring is springing! Well, sort of lurching anyway... snows are sporadic but the days are getting noticeably longer. There are hints of green grass below the white snow and the trees are getting new leaves. The nights are still cold and dew is often frozen to a reindeer's fur when he/she first wakes up.

Updates
March 16, 2007: Both of the reindeer herds are pretty small. No doubt, you've noticed this. Right now, I sort of like the way that Ártali Ísjaki is all close-knit. Still, it does need to grow a bit, especially if any calves are born this Anlach. So, I've been thinking that I'll open the herd up a little, hence the new poll.
Please note that any reindeer wishing to join would have to role play a meeting with Donner---or another member of the herd--- and have a nice backstory explaining why he/she left their original herd. This goes for flatsale adults or second generation Hrelndyr reindeer (once they grow up, that is).
Or it could stay closed.

I think this is updated... if there are any mistakes, let me know.
Oh, and remember to ask for cert changes! D: I can't put up the official certs if they don't exist!

Weather for December Oh, boy, winter's grip is tightening on this land. Further north than the Firebringer herd, the Artali Isjaki herd has to face early snows and snowdrifts. Food is scarce and mostly consists of whatever can be dug up from the ground. The normally nomadic reindeer have gathered a bit closer together for safety against the wolves. Not that they're all bunched up, but they are in closer contact in general.
