I just came back as a guest of honor to a Charity Ball sponsored by many contributors (Need I say more?)
The whole event was... different. Upon entering, I was swarmed by a lot of acquaintences, their ages ranged from 25 to 48. Rough estimation.
Naturally, I was the youngest among everyone.
Throughout the whole event, I was sitting by the speech thingy (They have those round tables for the other people invited and then they have those line tables that are by the microphone. The guest of honors who sorta watch over everyone)
Anyways, I was sitting there sorta playing around with my corn and I was soon dragged out to the crowd by an elder woman who was more impulsive and eccentric than I was.
It was hard trying to mingle. How do you reintergrate back into the community that you turned your back on? People that have their own inside-jokes and their own sorta giggles while you sit there yearning to do more than smile politely.
I was uncomfortable the whole time and when I'm uncomfortable, I get timid and when I get timid, I look sad.
At least the singers were okay. One guy had this voice that illusioned everyone that he was go. In reality, he just flexed the same 4 notes (3 that were low and a quiet high one) by holding in his diaphragm or letting the music engulf his voice so you can't spot the whispering it becomes.
But then, there was this one singer. She wasn't more than 20 and I swear she was looking at me the whole time. x____x; She sang: "Et si ca pourrait etre plus..." which means "And if it could be more..."
The whole scenery was dead quiet and the lights became obessed onto her as her eyes pinpointed towards my direction. How do I know she was looking at me? Well, maybe because she literally came over beside our table. Touch each man's cheek while singing until she gave mine a good soft rub. A lot longer than the other ones.
I died at the moment. Her touch was spledid, but I was fidgeting and squirming and didn't know what to do.
Then the whole show ended and we chatted about her voice and many songs that her voice would be terrific in until I was tugged to another crowd of acquaintences I couldn't care about.
So the night was pretty odd. It ended rather poorly too. It was officially ended, but rather just waited until people flooded out and no one gave me an actual "good-bye" I was just sorta left there until I snagged a taxi and just sighed my way home into the cold, cold night...
Here I am now... pouring another idiotic night to you all in hopes it interests you as much as it was odd to me.
Anyone know how to actually tie a tie? I had to retie mine like twice. O_<;;
