It was somewhat of a boring day for the ebon' stallion- not that his life was exciting, mind you... no, this day was just more uneventful than usual. It might have had something to do with the fact that he could barely walk, still sporting the injuries that Luna's daughter had inflicted upon him in her vengeful rage, but it also could have been contributed to the absence of his feline friend, Kumori. Either way, it had been a long time since he'd been this bored, and it showed. A heavy sigh was let loose from his lungs, a slight cringe following at the tug on his injuries as he lowered his head to graze.

Slowly trotting through the grass, the small spotted mare, explored. She stopped every now and then to bring her head down and graze for a minute or so, but promptly went on her way again. As she went deeper into the clearing, she noticed another that was there. The other was dark and pretty large by what she could tell, but who wasn't... the mare was small for her age. She was curious on to who it was, but wasn't quick to go up to them and find out, especially since the other was seemingly grazing. That's when she thought... she'll make it look like she was grazing too. With that, she lowered her head to the grass and began to munch onto choice clumps of it, slowly making her way to the other as she did.

One furry ear twitched backwards at the sound of footsteps against the damp earth, and he jerked his head up to look back-- only to make a strangled sound of agony as he inadvertently almost ripped open one of his healing wounds. He spent a few moments writhing in his torment, golden hues glazed over in pain, before it finally faded into lucidity again, and his gaze came to rest upon a small spotted mare. He blinked a few times, shifting as the last of his pain-hazed vision cleared, and promptly offered a welcoming smile towards the pretty new mare. It had been a while since he'd met someone new (discounting Amoena, of course), and he did always like making new friends. "Salutations, Miss."

Her path continued on for awhile, until she heard the other speak to her. Now that she was closer, her soft green eyes could see that the other was an also spotted, stallion. Upon closer inspection, she could also see the faint sight of injuries, which had caused her heart to sink. When he greeted her, she brought her head up and gave him a nod, turning her attention away from the wounds for the meanwhile. "Hello there."

A familiar gentle smile adorned his dark features as he lowered his head, substituting his deep bow onto one knee for a polite dip of the head. It felt odd, not greeting a mare in the way he usually did, but his injuries left him little choice. His little bow still hurt, but he wasn't willing to forego the formal greeting completely. He shifted his weight onto his good leg, golden irises studying her with a mixture of innocent curiosity and interest, his gaze settling on her spotted hide with a small bit of surprise. He blinked a moment before he turned his attention back to her own eyes, offering a lopsided grin. "Forgive me, it's been a while since I've met anyone new. My name is Shadow. It's a pleasure to meet you, Miss..?"

A warm smile formed on her own muzzled as he bowed his head to her, doing the same in return. When bringing her head up, she gave her head a light shake to move the bangs from her eyes. When her attention returned to him, she could notice him eyeing her, causing her to become a little self-concious, her cheeks blushing softly. When he spoke to her, she calmed herself and replied. "... Charlamagne. It's nice to meet you as well Shadow."

"Miss Charlamagne. A lovely name." He smiled brightly, finding her blush endearing. It had been a long time since he'd actually openly flirted with a mare, since his heartbreak, but since he'd resolved to move on, he felt better than he had in months.
Tilting his head to one side curiously, he studied the spots on her fur before offering her another charming, lopsided grin. "Interesting. I thought for a while that I was the only spotted soquili around here. Do you take after some sort of feline, too?" Theree was more than just the spots to say that feline thing... after all, the golden slitted pupils he had and being nocturnal certainly weren't things normal soquili had.

"Please, just Charlamagne will do... or even Charl if it's easier." She told him. She wasn't the type to feel comfortable being called in such a formal way, yeah, she knew it was the polite thing to do, it just made her a little uncomfortable for some unknown reason.
She gave him a curious look when she noticed his head tilt to one side before looking to her back when he mentioned spots. "Oh, yes. My spots derive off a leopard of some sort." She replied to him softly, looking back to him and glancing over his own dark spots for a brief moment before looking back to him. "I'm sorry if my own spots take away your uniqueness of once being the only soquili that had them."

He paused at her correction, surprise registering on his features a moment before he grinned brightly. Out of all the mares he'd ever met, not one of them had ever asked him to forego the honorifics. "All right, Charl... I'll try to remember that, but I'm not at all used to it, so I might slip every once in a while."
He paused again, then chuckled softly at her apology, shaking his head. "Oh no, on the contrary, it's refreshing to know I'm not the only one. I must say, though, I think they look better on you than they do on me."

She nodded to him, smiling warmly. "I can understand if you forget every now and again. I won't put it against you." She replied, shifting on her feet lightly so not to keep her weight on them for too long. After doing this, she looked back up to him, considering the large height difference. When she heard him say that the spots looked better on her than they do on him, she couldn't help but blush once again. "Oh... um, thank you, but your spots suit you as well."

He chuckled again at seeing her blush. It had been a while since he'd seen this kind of reaction in a mare... a very long time, in fact, and it made it all the more endearing. He smiled brightly at her, shifting into what he hoped was a less intimidating stance- hopefully, it would make her a little less shy. "Thank you, Mi--er, Charl." He grinned a bit sheepishly, here. "It's harder than it might seem. I don't think I've forgone calling any mare "Miss" since... well, ever."

She couldn't help but giggle at his little 'stammer'. She shook her head slightly as she looked to him. "I guess if it's that difficult for you, you can still call me 'Miss', but don't refer to my whole name." She stated softly, flicking her tail against her back legs for a moment before letting it hang back down behind her.

"Miss Charl, then," he amended, still sporting his sheepish grin as he shifted his weight lightly. Even the small movement hurt, he noted with a fair amount of chagrin, but he kept quiet about it anyway. "What brings you out here alone, Miss Charl? Simply taking a walk, or are you a frequent wanderer?"

She nodded at him, not noticing anything wrong at the moment. She glanced around for a brief moment before looking back to him when her asked her a question. "Hmm? Oh, well, I wouldn't say frequent wanderer, persay... I just tend to roam when things at home get a bit bland."
