Big Day Out is a rock festival in Australia and NZ. It happens at Auckland in NZ, and for Aus it's at the Gold Coast, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Perth.
I went to the Gold Coast one on Sunday the 21st.
It was so awesome. I saw Sick Puppies (a totally wicked Aussie band that recently shot to fame due to a youtube video, free hugs, go check it out!), a few local bands called Lump, Bowser, and The Wrath, and then the really big ones, Trivium and My Chemical Romance. The Trivium mosh pit was INSANITY. Especially when the band got the whole thing to turn into a giant circle pit.
I wanted to see Tool, but the lineup died, so there was nothing I wanted to see for four hours until their show. Four hours of nothing in the dusty, windy, Australian summer sun didn't sound appealing. I'm still getting over the sunburn I got without the extra hours.
Still, it kicked so much a**.
