People jump to conclusions too fast.

Yamato -- the man who was in charge of Neo-Team 7 at the time this happened -- began to talk about Sakura's feelings for Naruto in Chapter 297. Sakura was extremely upset because all she could do for Naruto was small things. Yamato saw that she was upset, and in my opinion, began to comfort her.

"It's not what you do for Naruto that's important.. it's how strongly you feel about him that counts. Sakura.. I can tell just by looking at you.. The truth is, you --"

Naruto wakes up before he can finish his statement.

Most people say it's obvious that he was about to say, "-- love Naruto."

But I ask you -- what the HELL does Yamato know about Sakura, Naruto, Sasuke, and the past of Team 7? Kishimoto may make some idiotic decisions sometimes, but I HIGHLY doubt he would make it seem as though a guy who BARELY knows Team 7 would know Sakura more than she knows herself.

It is a fact that Sakura cares deeply for Naruto now, but HOW are we to know the feelings she harbors toward him are romantic?

Fans need to stop jumping to conclusions. They need to learn to wait for a CANON conclusion.

Yes, it's true that in stories, authors usually throw in characters like Yamato to make the audience aware of a character's feelings, but how are we to know he wasn't just playing?

And the Hinata cover? "She sets out for the sun, its golden light her beacon."

Kishimoto once drew a picture with Hinata; Naruto was in the background, sitting under a sun. It's obvious who he's referring to when he says 'the sun.'

NaruSaku is a plausible pairing, but what I'm trying to say is -- the manga isn't over yet. ;3

What Tenshi and Kairi said. A lot of people just think they KNOW what Yamato was going to say, and what's going to become canon. D:

Let's keep it at there's nothing canon yet, and that includes the fact of who Sakura has feelings for.

I've seen this debate left and right. Yamato could have said anything at that moment-- and some people did jokingly put an 'lo' before the ending on some scanlations (twinbells and phoenixblood cleared this up many times).

Yamato could have just as easily stated "Sakura i can tell you really do all you can for him, and htat is enough." as he could have said "Sakura, I can tell you really love him." Which I doubt is what the answer was, but who knows.

I like the fact that Tenshi no Hana-chan brought up, with Sakura's refusal of Naruto's date with "If you have time to go on dates, you should be training!"

I think this is a pretty large clue to how much Sasuke affected/is still affecting her. He refused a date from her in the same exact manner right after the Wave arc and before the Chuunin exams.

"Sasuke-kun, lets work on our teamwork together!"
"IF you have time for dates you should be training. Your skills are below that of Naruto's."

I also like to point out that Sakura has been proven to be good at hiding her feelings in part two-- one example is with Sai. When they first meet him, he's bound on berating Sasuke. Where Naruto will rant and rave, she sits there and takes it until she can't anymore-- where in which she is the first one to resort to violence. She punches Sai in the face, sends him flying, and tells him not to forgive her because if she hears him say anything about Sasuke again, she won't go easy on him.

When Naruto goes into 4-tailed Kyuubi form, Sakura runs after him crying to stop him. She doesn't scream "Naruto, stop it!". She screams "Naruto, it's okay, we'll get Sasuke back together!".

She started in the Gaara retriveal arc that in the two years Naruto had been gone, she'd been studying and researching on anything she could find to help them get to Sasuke-- she researched the massacre, Itachi, Akatsuki and Orochimaru, finding links and ways to find Sasuke. During her fright with Sasori, she finds more power and self esteem after finding out that Sasori knows Orochimaru (and her flashback of Sasuke).

When they finally get to Sound's hideout, she's the one who flies up to Sai and pins him to the wall by his throat because his mission ended up being to kill Sasuke.

There are a lot of things Sakura did that hint she still has strong feelings for Sasuke, and I find it hard to really wonder what she feels for Naruto since, in a way, he is the only thing she has left of Team 7. Team 7 now consists of Sai, Naruto, Sakura and Yamato. The only original member there is herself and Naruto. He's all she has left, and she's desperate to keep him there. She couldn't get Sasuke to stay, so she doesn't want Naruto to go too.

Personally, the relationship I see is one of best-friends almost to the point of siblings (except siblings don't flirt; at least normals ones anyway). Naruto and Sakura joke and laugh, but their driving force, their objective remains one and uniform- Sasuke. This is personally why I can't see NaruSaku, for it deters them both away from Sasuke, and that is their main goal as of now. They strive to become stronger to bring him home. Sakura and Naruto don't have the time to develop a relationship, a romantic one, for both are focused on their objective.

With that said, NO I don't NaruSaku is impossible. I'm not one to step over lines and go "I HATE NARUSAKU SO IT CAN'T HAPPEN!!1!" but personally I don't see the relationship involving into a romantic one anytime soon. If it happens, then Sasuke will need to still be involved in some way...or...dead. :shot:

Also, think back to Naruto- the kid is all about faith and friendship, and his objective is to become Hokage. While he certainly liked Sakura, she was never his true goal in life. : I also think back to the hospital scene as a tag-on to his earlier statement on goals. In this scene you can see some hurt, but then understanding flash on Naruto's face when he sees Sakura hugging a bed-ridden Sasuke.

As for Yamato, I believe the others explained it quite clearly. Yes, Yamato was vague, but nothing clearly stated that Sakura had romantic feelings for Naruto. This is unlike Sakura's confession to Sasuke in Chapter 181 when we get proof of Sakura's feelings. "I love with all my heart," or, "I really really really like you to death." (lol)
