January talk2hand
If you can name one redeeming factor about this miserable month then you're a better person than i..
Over-drafts and waistlines are feeling the post festive strain. Daylight and tempers are short, Spring seems eons away and the worst of the winter weather is usually yet to come..It's a dismal, horrible month and i for one need some distracting.
It's a firm belief of mine that many people are miserable and moan about life because they don't take the time to notice the small, everyday things that can put a smile on your face. So i'd like to start a thread full of them.
So...post things that make you do this biggrin can you still do it? practice in front of a mirror to make sure.
Anything that makes you smile. The sight, sound or scent. The taste, feeling or memory. no matter how transient, if it gives you somewhere to go out of the wet snow and biting wind, even if it's only for a few short moments, then it's worth it. So share your inner smiles, and maybe we can all wear a little bit of that secret glow, and get through the rest of the winter with a Ready Brek like aura to hide behind when life gets too January on us 3nodding
feel good pictures to go with anything you want to post would be great too 3nodding

The catalyst for this thread...Paxo
The smell reminds me of my Great-Nan, she always used to mix the stuffing in a particular bowl, and leave it on the windowsill in her sun-lounge to soak up the water. so i pour water on Paxo and a little bit of me goes back to being 8 again and how nice that used to be 3nodding
Plus of course Paxo smells of Sunday dinner and that always evokes certain feelings in most people.
Bread! you can be trudging down a wet street and catch a waft of fresh bread from a baker's doorway and the world is a better place for a second whilst you inhale that delicious fragrance 3nodding
the hot scent you get from a pavement after a rain shower in the summer.
the sound your feet make when you walk on a wooden pier. the way the air feels early on a summer morning.
the reflected sunlight that you get under bridges and at swimming pools.
the smell of wild roses. spontaneous laughter from a small child, especially of the slightly dirty sounding giggle kind.
when the sun shines through the crystals in my window and puts rainbows all over the living room walls.
the feel of a display full of soft toys.
eating just one piece of good quality chocolate, just letting it melt on my tongue so the flavour envelops my whole mouth.
watching the steam rise from a candlelit bath.
lying warm and snug in bed listening to the rain on the window.
hearing the blackbird that lives behind the buildings over the road singing in the early hours of the morning.
turning my face up to the sun after being indoors all morning at work.
being greeted by a dog who knows you but hasn't seen you for a while.
walking barefoot in sun-warmed sand.
the sound of the breeze gently rustling the tree's leaves.
bees buzzing in the lavender in my Nan's garden
dappled sunlight filtering through tree leaves.
the smell of coffee roasting receiving a genuine compliment from an unexpected source.
the gentle lap of waves on a quiet beach.

well, once i had free text messages , so i texted a girl that i like. [and who was sitting like 30cm away from me] , i invented a word and wrote "TREL" . she liked that so much, that i became the TREL guru ,and we made more and more ppl to say that. that makes us laugh , and smile... lol sweatdrop
so , whenever you're down, say TREL ! and the world will be more colorful xD
what else does make me smile in january.. hmm... a pretty girl that smiles when i smile while looking at her smile
yes. I AM SIMPLE. heart

This makes me happy...going out with a girl from work instead of going hotel mental the only good thing about the cold is getting into bed and wrapping the duvet right round you...mmm, toasty Jelly is yer crystal a solar powered rotating one...i have a double one...its so cool 3nodding The thought of deep deep snow makes me happy...but then i'm soon eager for the onset of summer and being on the motorway travelling to Devon listening to the Lotus Eaters...pretty specific i know but hey...
