The curious Ichsa mare trotted around in front of the forest, gazing at it with an intrigued look on her face. She seemed to be at a moment of indecision; should she enter, or should she stay in the valley? She hadn't explored the forest much yet, and was very interested in finding out what was in there. She stopped in front of one of the many entrances, and stared hard into the woods. What to do, what to do... A frown appeared on her face; this was a hard decision. Maybe there were more horses in there she could meet? But there were plenty out in the valley, too...
With a toss of her short, curly mane, she took a few tentative steps forward. To go in, or not to go in... That is the question.

Howl had just gotten away from a group of mares he had flirted with for well over an hour before realizing that he needed to get back to his little tree in the forest. After badding the mares good day, he wandered towards one of the many entrances into the forest that he knew about.
After walking for nearly ten minutes, he spotted an entance and started to head for it, but then stopped as he saw an orange-hued Nequus pacing in front of it. Curious of the delicate-winged Nequus, he approached her slowly. "Not lost are you dear?" he asked the other Nequus in a soft voice. Up close he could see that the Ichsa was a femme-a pretty one. He smiled warmly at her as he spread his wings out slightly, his coat spreading out, too. "My name is Howl and I am here to assist you, ma'am."

"Oh!" The preoccupied mare jumped a few inches, whirling around to seek out the source of the voice. She'd been so busy with her own quandary, she hadn't noticed the stallion approach. "No, not lost," she said with a bright smile once she saw him. "Merely trying to figure out if I should go exploring in there or stay in the valley." She turned her gaze back to the sun-splotched forest floor, her emerald eyes wandering over it and up the trees, across the leaves, then she turned to gaze back at her new companion. "It's nice to meet you, Howl. My name's Nizhoni. What brings you to this portion of the valley? And, I think the only way you could help me is if you're either going through the forest or staying the valley, so that I might tag along, too! It's always more fun to explore with someone else, I think," she said with an affirmative nod of her slender head.

Howl backed up a few inches, a little ashamed that he had scared her. He didn't want to spook the mare at all. Flicking an ear, he listened to her reply to his question before he gazed into the forest. "It is a pleasure to meet you Nizhoni. I have merely found myself wandering around until I saw your beautiful coat in the distance. I figured I would come by and say hello to you." He knew it was a lie, but it was a small lie. He really did come to the forest after wandering around the valley, but he had intended on wandering into the forest un-noticed until he saw the mare.
He heard her say that if he was going into the forest that she might tag along, too. He bobbed his head slightly before bowing down slightly. "It would be a pleasure for you to accompany me into the forest. Shall we?" He trotted past her and through the small gap in the forest wall, gazing back after a few feet to make sure that Nizhoni was following him.

She dipped her muzzle slightly. "The pleasure is all mine, I'm sure," she said with a bright smile, idly flicking an ear. "Well, my coat may be nice, but yours is very interesting," said she with a giggle, nodding towards his overcoat. "I've never seen one like that before. How does it stay on?"
As he spoke then headed towards the forest, she nearly jumped from excitement and began to trot after him, then slowed down so she could walk beside him. "What brings you to the forest on such a day as this? Exploring, just headed towards the other side?"

Howl smiled at her as she asked him how his coat stayed on. "It's like magic. It always stays on, even during violent weather. It is a miracle I haven't lost it yet. Thought I'm sure one day it is going to blow off and never come back to me." He winked at her before heading deeper into the forest.
Hearing her hoofbeats coming up next to him, he slowed down slightly to let her catch up before pricking his ears up at his question. "Oh, I was out wandering around. I heard that a Jala my Master took care of was in this area and I decided to pay him a visit. He was very pleased to see me, but at the same time he was a little skittish around me. It must have been due to the other stallions around. I've never seen so many Nequus packed in one area before. Is it always like that?" He canted his head slightly as he gazed at Nizhoni curiously.

"Ooooh, magic?" That had certainly peaked the bubbly mare's interest; hardly anything was more interesting than magic. "Really? That's amazing!" This aeri was certainly very, very interesting indeed. She would have to learn more about him, or at least stick with him a little longer. With a nod to his reasons for being in the valley, to show she understood, she twitched her tendril wings a bit as she thought. "Hmm.. I don't normally see many groups that large in so small an area, but it's not unheard of, I think," she said, confirming her statement with a nod of her head as she walked alongside her new and interesting companion.

Howl nodded his head. He was happy that the femme was interested in his magic. He had never met any femme that wasn't interested in it, other than one. The Reya was stuck on his mind everyday, but he had managed to let her go. He felt like he didn't deserve a femme like the black Reya.
Hearing a reply from Nozhoni, he turned his gaze to her, listening to her words carefully. "I see. Then I guess that is the only area that has herds like that. It is rather unusual to see that many Nequus in a small area. I wonder how they all get along with each other. I usually like to roam around these lands, exploring them to see what secrets they hide." He canted his head to one side and shifted his wings under his coat. "What do you like to do?"

Ooh, that question required some thinking. "Hmm... Well, I like to go spend time with my friend Nyx, and I also like to gallop around the valley, it's lots of fun. I like to look at all the pretty flowers, too," she said, confirming her statement with a bob of her slender head. She stretched out her thin wings for a few moments, then folded them against her sides. "I also like to meet new nequus as much as possible, they're always interesting. Especially in your case, not many nequus, I think, can do magic." At least, she didn't think they could. Could they? This required some thought, and she gazed hard off at a nearby tree as if, if she stared at it long enough, it could answer all of her questions. But, her train of thought stopped abruptly; no use thinking so much over something she didn't know the answer to. Maybe Nyx knew. She mentally made a note to ask her splotched friend later. She blinked then, coming back to reality; her absent-mindedness only lasted a few moments. "What do you like to do?" She inquired of her curious companion, figuring it would be a good idea to ask him what he liked to do, since he'd already asked her.

Howl smiled as he listened to the femme talk to him about what she liked to do. It sounded better than what he liked to do. His womanizing skills haven't dulled at all, even if he stopped flirting with the other femmes for weeks on end. It seemed like he had a knack for flirting and trying to steal the femmes' hearts, even though it hurt when he stopped flirting with them to find some other pretty femme.
Hearing her mention magic, he flicked an ear slightly. "Magic is simple, though I can safely say that I cannot do the things that I could have done in my past life. I am glad that I can do only simple magic like keeping my coat on my back and flying short distances. I never use my wings at all unless I am forced to do so."
He flicked his tail slightly as he heard her ask him what he liked to do. He smirked, his thoughts pushed to the back of his mind. "I like to practice what little magic I have and roam around the lands. I don't have a home at all, so I like to wander around to see the many sights these lands have to offer us Nequus. It is a pity most Nequus stay in one place. They don't know what they are missing."

"You don't need to use your wings to fly?" She asked, utterly shocked, her eyes wide and ears perked forward. "That's so cool!" She exclaimed enthusiastically. It also seemed unbelievable. Not use wings to fly? It seemed impossible. But, then again, magic could do the impossible. "What other things can you do with your magic?" She inquired, unable to keep herself from asking. Magic was just so interesting and captivating.
"Oh yes, I love to explore new lands a lot, but I also like to come back to the valley. Adventure and exploring is wonderful, but so is having a permanent home to come back to," she said with a nod. "Speaking of which.. Do you have a permanent home, Howl?"

Howl smiled at her reaction. "No wings required, but it isn't technically flying in my terms. It is more like...gliding." He glanced around the forest as he listened to her ask him what other things he could do with his magic. "That's pretty much it. I don't like getting magic in the way of other things. Besides, I don't have that much of it from when I was in my past life." He flicked a tail slightly, a little disappointed in his magic abilities.
He canted his head slightly and gazed at her as she began to talk again. Shaking his head slightly, he sighed softly. "I have no permanent home at all. I roam around the lands, exploring them as I wander. I don't think I will ever have a permanent home. It doesn't feel right to settle down somewhere and call it a home."

"Glidng? That's still really neat, that you can glide without using your wings. And, a little magic is better than none, I think," she said with a smile and a giggle. She flicked her curly tail, trying to rid herself of a persistant fly. Past-life? "Howl, who were you in your past life? What was it like? Do you remember?" She wasn't exactly sure what a past-life was, but she assumed it was a life one lived before the current.
"No home?" That was hard to imagine. What must it be like to have no home to go back to? No where to go to when one couldn't stay anywhere else? "I have a permanent home, with the herd led by my friend Nyx in the valley. I like to explore too, and see all there is to see, but I can't imagine what it must be like to have no home to come back to."

Howl nodded his head. "That is true, but I would like to fly one day. It is a pity I can't. I bet it is fun to fly high in the air." He sighed slightly before hearing her ask about his past. "My past life? All I know is that I used to be a very powerful Wizard and that I used to 'steal' women's hearts. Other than that I have no idea of the other things that lay in my past life." He chuckled softly, not really wanting to know of his past.
He shook his head slightly as he asked him no home. "I find having a home rather difficult. I love to roam around and having a home would only become a burden. Not to mention I would rather stay there than go out to some new land that I would like to discover."

She smiled with a nod of her slender head. "Yes, it's lots of fun to fly high in the air. But, I still prefer a good run. Flying is fun, but I'm not all that good at it yet, I always feel like the wind is going to knock me back down onto the ground," she said with a laugh. "Oh well."
"Steal women's heart?" She repeated, gazing at Howl with a confused look on her face. "Why would you do that? And how?" It didn't really seem to make much sense. To steal someone's heart, you'd have to cut them open and take it out, wouldn't you? The thought made her shudder, and she stuck her tongue out. "Sounds gross to me," she said with a nod.
"Roaming is fun, as is exploring and discovering new places you haven't seen before, but it's nice to be able to come back to a permanent home where you can rest and recooperate."
