This is primarily on the subject of user-names. How many names have you had and what were they? Why did you pick them and what did they mean? If you have only ever had your current name, then please answer these questions about it.

Since 12/08/2003, when I first joined Gaia, I have always been Matasoga, and I have no intention of changing it anytime soon.

My screenname on most sites is elven_beatnik, as when I was in high school I was very much into Allen Ginsberg and while I was a hobbit, elf just sounded better. However, since Gaia actually provides little avatars I wanted to use an actual name. Tinuviel is a character from the Silmarillion; the name means "nightingale" in Sindarin. Nyx is just Greek for "night."

I changed my name way too much back in the day.
My very first account name was NinSakino, after a character that I created. I got bored with it and changed that name to XxX Ariadne XxX. I got too lazy to type in all the X's, so then I became Aeristine, which I still have.
Then I made my first male mule, Pheno. After a while, I changed the mule to female and changed the name to Avino, since "Aveeno" was taken.
I've made many more names/mule afterwords. But Avino was never changed afterwards.
Being banned back in Aug. 06, I needed to rename an older account. Which is where I am today. ^^

LOL, I thought of you the other day when I saw "Aveeno" written somewhere, knowing that it would be pronounced the same way. Did you know that that's the name of a cosmetics company?

You likely saw that on the bottle of anti-itch lotion in the mirror cabinet.

It seems your all interested in the story behind the name Avino. And now, to tell the tale.
::Sits on the floor and puts on reading glasses:: Ahem!
As you might know, I like to draw and create original characters. One day, while sleeping over my cousin's house, I brought over one of my many drawing books, in order to show my cousin what I had doodled from the last time I saw her.
Pointing to the picture of one particular character I had just started drawing, I asked, "Hey, Isabella? What should I name her? I want something.... different, but cool sounding. Any ideas?"
She pause for a moment and then stated, "How about 'Aveeno'? It's a hand cream my mom uses and I really like it."
The name stuck faster then you can say "fried rice". (Bad example, I know. :'D )
After jotting down the correct spelling of the produce, I proceeded to name my character "Aveeno" like my cousin suggested. Then I went on Gaia and found out that Aveeno was taken by an inactive user.
I was so upset, until I changed one letter and got the name I love so much today. As for my original character "Aveeno", I'm sure you're asking, did I change her spelling too? The answer to that is no. I scrapped her and totally remade "Avino", whom has also never changed to this day. <3
And in short, yes I knew it was a products name. >w<;;
