FORGOTTEN DOCUMENT JOURNALS "She turned her fingers even more frantically and the winding mechanism clicked faster and faster. Then her thumb snapped past her forefinger as the knob lost its friction and revolved too easily. It fell loose and empty and turned backwards as well as forwards. She'd broken it. In vain, she shook and tapped the metal case, opened it up, jiggled it and held it to her ear in desperate hope. But the watch was dead."

Nisha was found in place of a book...the cover had been rough, but the yellowed pages surprisingly soft. Tucked in her anklet was a piece of paper that read:

Desperate is Nisha's Daemon...a baby elephant that weighs more than Aki!! Within the first few hours of his existance, he managed to break a chair, a planter, and a step on the front porch. He seems particularly at home around the Villa, and spends most of his time hounding Nisha. Nothing seems to please him more than hearing her giggle.
He refuses to let Nisha stray far from his side...they both become extremely agitated when apart for too long. He certianly seems bright...as soon as Desperate has seen something once, he remembers how to do it in the future!
It's not surpring that the first thing he learned was how to open the fridge.

Not much is known about the broken watch that Nisha wears...she refuses to let it out of her sight. It seems to concern her...often, she'll shake it and wince at the rattle, or fall asleep with it cupped to her ear.
Nisha isn't fond of letting others take a closer look, it's one of the few things that puts her in a truly foul mood. Desperate always seems to cheer her up though, either by tucking the watch away into her sarong, or by tickling her till she forgets her troubles!

Reyna and Samara: They met only briefly, but Samara and Nisha arrived at the same time...with both Aki and Reyna there to witness it. Nisha doesn't know them well, but the mention of their names makes her smile!

Aki Ana: Aki read the excerpt that summoned Nisha within the library...also calling forth her Daemon, Desperate. With centuries of memories behind her, Aki cannot recall any arrival quite as mysterious.
Aki is of celestial elven lineage, lunar fold. More simply phrased as a 'moon elf' Aki has minor magicks and moderate healing at her command. She owns the Villa, her clifftop household overlooking the ocean and harbor.

The Villa:
Nestled atop the cliffs and overlooking the rocky beaches is a crumbling stone villa, held together by little more than hope and creeping rose vines. The ocean spills out before it, showing the gorgeous width of the western sky. There are several guest rooms, spacious balconies, and more than one unknown passage. The only rooms that have been reconditioned are the kitchen and master bathroom.
Beside the Villa is a freshwater pond, ringed by rocks and water lilies. Bright fish and curious birds gather, swimming around the sunken stone lanterns. Down the steep hill, at the base of the gravel road, there is an old tree house...perched uncertainly in the saltweathered branches!!
The beach is only a five minute walk...within a stone's throw, but down a switchback trail that takes time to navigate. Down the beach is a sheltered harbor...the glow from the lighthouse hidden by the rocks.

This ball was a gift from Aki...who has had it for as long as she could remember. For Aki, it has always reflected a crescent moon, surrounded by swirling petals.
When Nisha holds the ancient toy, she sees butterflies dancing in everchanging mist. It's durable, and glows softly...an excellent night light, and continuing source of entertainment for the small girl.
Desperate doesn't seem to care much for the ball, however...anytime its missinng, it can usually be found under the Daemon's pillow!
