About every week I have a dream, I can hardly ever remember the dreams, maybe just bits of color here and there. They always end the same, though. They always end with me trying to scream, but I have no voice. I stand there screaming and screaming silently until I wake up. I hate it. One morning I sat up and screamed for about a minute and my parents came running, and they asked me what was wrong. I said nothing, so long as I still had a voice. Has anyone ever had this sort of dream? It's worse than any nightmare I've ever had.

I dunno about screaming but I had a voice where I was trying to command a platoon (i'm in Navy Jrotc) and when I tried to yell out to command them nothing came out but air and little squieks where my voice should have been. I was terrified and everyone started laughing at me. Sort of similiar, but not really. The only reason I had the dream was because I was due to command my class's platoon the next day, and I had never done it before....so maybe your dream is grasping one of your fears?

it could be, a fear of not being heard.
also it could be the lack of ability to speak up for yourself, or an inablity to express yourself =/

Dreams are just weird and in dream attempts to communicate verbally often end poorly unless you're talking in your sleep.

Those are THE WORST dreams ever! I frequently have and have had dreams where something/someone is attempting to attack me and i also try and scream, but to no luck! Also, in most of my dreams I'm either blind or have some sort of visual or physical handicap, such as constant spinning or rolling. XD

I had a smiliar dream like that, but it wasn't reoccuring like yours. And those really are the worse dreams. x___x
But I think it's reflecting on what's happening in real life to you, maybe it's saying you need to speak up or say what's on your mind? sweatdrop

Oh noes! I hate those dreams. I've only had one but still. I didn't end up screaming in real life but this shadow came up to my window in the dream and I couldn't scream. sad

Yep I've had those and don't like them either. Sometimes I get them because something is going on in my life where I feel like I can't say what I need to say. The words get caught in my throat. Then I have that type of dream.

I don't think I ever talk in dreams, unless I am screaming. I guess, when it's important I'll yell, but other than that I never open my mouth.

It's worse than any nightmare I've ever had. yes only on occasion! but what happens is i am running away from a strange person and he grabs me and i try to scream for help but i can't and then i wake up sometimes screaming!
