A sleek cloud grey head buried itself in the nestle that large slender paws made when they crossed each other. Sapphire blue eyes peered out bleakly at the surrounding world. It all seemed so empty these days, too empty. Once Yakuti would have looked upon such a world with a shining and playful nature but now, without her puppies, it seemed dreadfully boring. There was no light anywhere except in the eyes of Kiji. There wasn't enough to support her though and she was drowning in the devilish sea of dark unhappiness.
Oftentimes she wished she could fall off the edge of such a sea because if they were not surrounding her perhaps her precious puppies were off the edge. They had disappeared. Wandering away when they were old enough and she saw them no more. It was a tragedy she could not evade but they truly grew too fast. All of them gone? All but a few who could not bear to leave, yet they weren't close enough for her tobe comfortable. It was pathetic to see a once proud dog lower herself to the standards of decay.
Every night she would stare up at the sky and when a star would fall from the sky she would wish for her family to come back. She would wish to see them again and maybe even Temari. Temari. Jamaa. Her babies. She wanted to see all of them. It was a lost cause of course. How could they ever come back? Why would they want to see her? It never mattered. She would continue this path until she no longer existed.
As the liquid orange sun set before her muzzle, she scanned the plains, still hoping. Then it began, a low moaning whine which ended up as a howling cry of anguish. She called for them. Any of them. All of them. She wanted to see all of them before they got themselves into things she couldn't understand or wouldn't see. Before they got old enough to have their own families and stayed far away from her. She wanted to see her best friend and she wanted to just bask happily in all of them and all the things they had done since abandoning her. She continued to bark and howl and call until her voice ran out and she could no longer use it to that extent. Ears flicked back and she waited. She would wait until she died if she had to.
"Momma! Momma!" One of the first to answer the call was one of the nearest and most bouncy of all Yakuti and Kiji's litter. It was the infamous goofball Matope'Sheitani. Him and his near-twin Tsehai were always together, off exploring but when the cries began he had to see. The one thing above all that he hated was the sad song of a crying beast, the worst of it all was to hear his mother's. She had always been strong for them and had always been the rock they could lean on.
Whenever he had gotten in trouble, she had been the one he had gone to. If she wasn't there he would curl up against his twin sister Tsehai until she came back. None of his other siblings understood and Tsehai was the one who stuck by him the most. They looked the most similar of all the puppies and often had the most together. So of course, when he came bounding, he expected Tsehai to be right behind. No matter, his mother was waiting! "Momma, momma!" He called to her. She was in sight now and her glowing blue eyes made him run faster. His eyes were and always would be the same exact color and as he reached her he leapt up and tackled her back, tugging on her ear. "You sounded so sad... are you looking for everyone?" Easily he backed away and looked around for anyone else, mainly his twin of course.
((This is a private RP for any member of Yakuti's family. This includes Kiji, all 9 of their puppies as well as Temari and Jamaa. There is no posting order for convenience but I expect that shouldn't be a problem and I'm dearly hoping every single one of Yuka's puppies come because she hasn't seen any of them for a long time and we all need some good RP I think... ^^))

Jamaa wandered from the pack with Temari and Ryega. Tahu and Kiangazi were old enough and reliable to watch over their younger brothers, Kianjahe and Agizo. Jamaa smiled and walked strongly beside his mate and their oldest son, the son born from him and her, walked between them. The copper-brown dog could not help but turn back to make sure he was keeping up. At their pace, he was indeed able to, walking slowly and carefully, hitting rocks with his paws and what not. Jamaa was just glad that he was okay and handling such a thing so calmly.
Ryega had grown up so much, he had gotten bigger and well, it was nice seeing him this way. He had grown familiar with the pack lands and almost memorized where every single thing was, to the exact detail. Okay maybe that would be a huge exaggeration. Ryega knew his way around places like this way and that way. The pup can handle himself and he was usually never alone. He was in the Mpinzani pack lands, there were the other pack members and above all his family too. Tahu was a wonderful brother, they could play together all day if the red pup wanted too. Kiangazi was a nice male, always there for him when he called. Then there was Agizo....the youngest of both litters and a kind, soft brother. Ryega loved him so much, it was hard to find them apart unless one was sleeping or something similar to. Agizo and Ryega played together and slept by each other, also he is also the one who had encouraged Ryega to live up and learn through his handicap. Jamaa smiled, he was glad.
Turning his golden eyes to Temari he noticed that she had been acting weird lately. Sure he was concerned, but he did not want to be overly protective over her. She could take care of herself. If she wanted to, she could just run away and just escape it all. That thought made his heart sink down....she would never leave him...would she? Shaking his head he turned to her and looked over her body. It had gotten thinner since the pups were born. Had she been eating? Temari always made him worried, but he still loved her. Jamaa wanted to be with her, that was his choice and his commitment. He would stick by her side, not even death will do them part.
"Ryega, be careful. Pick up the pace or you'll get lost."
"I know...I know....I can smell you, I can find you."
Jamaa chuckled and turned to Temari. "Quite the little male isn't he?"

Kijivu hadn't been too far away when Yuka had started to cry out, but his large ears perked and he glanced around briefly for the one daughter that had stayed with them the entire time. She'd been here a moment ago, now where was she...?
Nyeupe'tepe had gone around the back of the rock her father had been sniffing about and was now standing on top of it, ready to pounce and land square on his back. But then her mother's crying started, and she frowned lightly, then gave a small bark, trying to get her father's attention.
The gray male turned around and smiled at his daughter. "Come on Nyeu, let's go back to mommy." He said kindly, taking her by the scruff and then trotting back towards Yuka. Kiji placed Nyeu gently on the ground, to let her do her own walking for the last little distance, then hurried to her side, grinning at Matope. "Sheesh buddy, you're getting so big now." He chuckled, laying next to Yuka and nuzzling her. "They'll come this time, love, I know it." He said, his voice full of love and care.
The tiny black and white female bounded towards her mother as Kiji placed her on the ground, and then plopped herself down between Kiji's paws, snuggling against her mother and her father at the same time, smiling happily. Mother will be so sad if they don't though... She thought to herself.

She was an adventurer, born to wander, born to be trouble. When the time came, the little black ear pup had wandered further than she had before, loosing her family in the process. But now, now she was heading home. That was...if she could find out where home was? She remembered passing this tree, and that bush. Oh, perhaps that pebble as well! Hmm. Ears flicked back and forth. It wasn't until the low sound of her mother's voice that captured her attention, bringing the juvenille to a brisk lope up a hill, over the plain grass, and to the sight of others. Familiar faces, some not so known. Her family.
Ausisiko wasn't one to stay in places for too long. The anxiety would move through her frame until she'd explore. Sometimes, she'd get lost, others she would. But as of now, that didn't maater.
She had return, if only for a bit.

Nyeupe's eyes widened as she saw her sister Ausi approaching. She gave an excited yip and wiggled away from her parents, bounding cheerily towards her favorite sister.
The tiny black and white dog gave some more excited yipping noises and then ran in a circle around her sister, bouncing up and down slightly and then jumping around in front of her, moving backwards with each jump, and each of her sister's steps.
I missed you sister.... She thought to herself, wishing she could actually say it out loud to her favorite of siblings.

Golden paws tred over the ground slowly, her green eyes listless. She wasn't completely out of her mind yet... but if you looked deeply enough into her once sharp green eyes, you could tell that the female wasn't entirely there. Her body was wraith thin and her fur stuck out in tons of different directions, dirt caking her paws and shoulder and even her belly and back. Blood had dried on her lower jaw and her eyes were bloodshot from what appeared to be lack of sleep.
She was trying to keep up with her mate and her growing son, though both of them had set a pace that was hard for the sick female to match. Normally Temari would have sped ahead of them or trotted at least shoulder to leg with her larger mate, but now she was just slugging along with her ears down to the sides of her head.
Temari could tell the glances from her mate, she knew what he was worried and she didn't blame him. The world around her swirled tons of different colors and often times she'd break her own skin to kill a bug that wasn't there, or forget that her pups were actually her pups. It was pathetic, even SHE knew that it was pathetic, but Temari didn't complain, didn't ask for help. She'd screwed up already in her life with her pups from before, lost her daughter, lost her middle son and her first son didn't even talk at all. Why she'd actually given Jamaa a litter was beyond her since she was such a horrible mother.
Listless eyes blinked and cleared for a moment as Jamaa and Ryega spoke beside her, glancing to her larger mate and giving him a weak smile. "He's your son, does it suprise you that much?" Her tongue swiped over Ryega's head to make sure that his puff of red hair was down and acceptable. ninja

Heaving a sigh Natefala rolled on to his back and grinned, watching a few birds tracing their course through the sky. He hadn't left home for very long ever, truthfully he got the itch to wander, but he always ended up back at the den.
The large multi-grey hued pup jumped up quickly when he heard his mother's cries, and rushed to her side to nuzzle her cheek. "Mother! Don't be sad!" He yipped softly and licked her muzzle, feeling guilty for even thinking of leaving home so soon.

It was like an explosion! The immediate answers to her cries touched her face and nose and soul like a kiss from the wind. It swirled about her and lifted her spirits and heart. Soon they would all come. Soon she could have all her children with her, and what a blessful meeting it would be! But wait, that scent. There was so much to respond to but the most shocking was the scent of Jamaa and Temari. Temari's had a dried blood smell covering it, but it was still her.
Eyes sparkled like a rippling clear pond and she struggled to reply to the whole situation happily. Standing before her was one of the twins. The male of the duo that looked the most alike of all nine of her dearest puppies. It was Shei! And then, closer, was her one of her darling daughters, right alongside Kijivu. And of course, Ausi soon came bounding along. She felt dizzy with all the commotion. "My sweet darlings... Shei, Nyeup, Ausi... oh Kiji look!" She licked her mate grandly joyous. "And... and... Temari!"
Jolting a bit from her children she saw them in the distance. Three dogs. One unfamiliar but the other two quite familar. "Jamaa! Temari!" She barked towards them, louder, louder! If she was loud enough maybe more then just them would hear her. Maybe the rest of her puppies?
Speaking of! One of her precious sons came and wrapped himself about her and she leaned down and playfully licked her son, "My dearest Natefala. Where have you been?" She smiled happily at him, nuzzling him grandly. It wasn't that she didn't love her other children, but he of course had been the one to actually come forward and greet her physically.

Though she wasn't exactly herself, the calls of the other DID reach Temari's tired ears. A few seconds passed before Temari let a howl drift from her muzzle, the thin noise wisping over the distance to her old friend's ears. It had been too long, was that actually Yakuti? Or just some strange wraith playing a game on her?
The golden female didn't believe in ghosts or in wraiths, she believed in what was before her. While Yakuti barked loudly and all but danced, Temari just kept along at her slow pace until she actually stopped before the other.
Green eyes flashed as she took in the much larger and healthy looking female dog before her, her instincts letting a weak smile spread over her blood-stained muzzle slowly. She really was happy to see her old friend like this, even if it was while she was in such a state, she was still meeting Yakuti again.
"How long has it been?" Temari asked, watching the other with her glassed over eyes silently. She wasn't sure how to talk to Yakuti since it had been so long, so much had changed in the time since they'd last met up, so many new scents drifted off of Yakuti's body. She'd had pups.
Timid eyes snapped to the form of the larger male beside Yakuti and she cast him a gentle smile as well as a kind nod before turning back to see where Jamaa and Ryega had gotten to. Ryega wouldn't be able to look at Yakuti and the others, but he would at least be able to meet his mother's old friend and his father's 'sister' at last. It had been many months after all, since Yakuti had dissapeared from their pack without so much as a word. ninja

Giggling happily at the sight of Yuka's spirits rising he padded along beside her, his little black tail whipping back and forth, and bright green eyes sparkling. "I found a nest yesterday! There was eggs in it and they were all spotty and neat!" Nate had a bounce in his step that had been missing a few moments before, he felt much better now that he knew his mother was feeling happier.
There were other wild dogs approaching, some he had never met, and he continued to grin, but a little nervously. Meeting people had never been his greatest strength. No matter how bright and bubbly the little male appeared, he was still very nervous a lot of the time, he'd just learned to conceal it well.
Rubbing up against Yuka's leg once more affectionately he bounded over to Nyeu and Ausi, grinning and wagging his tail at his sisters.

Fiyali had heard the cry a few minutes ago and turned, ears perking toward the sound. She was an easily distracted pup - having set off to wander on her own when most of them left their mother's side. And though she had always meant to go back, she just kept getting distracted by things and wansdering farther and farther away.
Now, though, she happened to be back in the area. And she recognized that cry. "Mom!" she half-yelped, and turned to bound toward the sound. Tongue lolled out of her mouth a bit as she ran, panting, until the older female was in sight. And she paid absolutely no heed to any of the others about, making a beeline straight for her mother. She was coming up on her fast, and slightly to the back and one side - and once she was close enough to do so, she simply leaped, as if she could bowl the other over. "Mom, what's wrong? Why're you making that horrible noise?" she asked, claws catching in fur for a moment before she let go to slide down and sit on the ground, head tilted.

Ajabu sighed and sat. There was nothing to do. Nothing to do at all. Well, he had heard his mother crying out for them so he figured the best thing to do would be to go see the family. Great. The Family. He loved his mother and Father but his siblings were another story. He liked 2 of them, 3 tops. At least he wouldn't have to stay to long. Just long enough to show everyone how much he 'missed' them ALL. Yeah right.
He stood and finished his short walk to the family, oh joy, and again sat down. Father away from them. He wasn't exactly the type to be the center of attention anymore. It just... Didn't feel worth it like it did when he was younger. Scrambling for attention day in and day out. It was so tiering and really... Annoying after so many days.
He eyed them all, hoping that only one or two would come chat with him.

"Fiyali... what're you...!" Yakuti was about to answer her best friend but she was suddenly interupted by one of her young daughter's tackling her. She was now on the ground with a small puppy looking at her very concerned and all she could do was laugh slightly. She placed a paw on the the little girl's head and licked her, "It's alright now, it's alright now... I'm so happy to see you my little darling." And then she looked up to finish chatting with Temari, unfortunately she was distracted yet again but Ajabu whom she barked at. "Ajabu! Ajabu why don't you come over and say hello to me?" Her flicked back.
Finally she could talk to Temari, whom she looked up at fondly. "Temari, oh Temari it's been so very long! I've missed you... what's happened to you?" She was much more talkative then the last time they'd met and she was extremely pleased to see the other. Lifting herself back onto her sturdier but tiny paws she nuzzled the other. Long or not, Temari was still important.
Sheitani, meanwhile, was a bit distracted by most of his family showing up. However he did have his twin to worry about and he sniffed around for her. "Tsehai, Tsehai c'mon!" He whimpered, leaning low to the ground. Starting to worry he wandered a little bit away looking for her and then came back towards the family. She had to be here somewhere, didn't she?

Fiyali wriggled a bit under her mother's attention and gave a little happy barking noise. "Oh, ok! That's good." She looked up then, and around at all the others. Wooow ... she didn't even know some of them. Were they all related to each other somehow? She'd never really realized how big this family was. o_o

"Shei~" The tall grass was a myriad of unfamiliar scents, and her precious brother's did not shine through. Tsehai padded a few steps in one direction, flattened her ears, and repeated the process in the opposite manner. With her nose failing her, there was nothing she could do; her eyes had failed to provide a clear picture of the world long ago. Even with a fogged view she had done fine, for either her mother or twin would be there to help her along and provide support. For now, she was alone in the grass, and she let out a loud, sorrowful whine, hoping to grab her brother's attention.
