Gaia name: Calmer
Character name: Callibreth Mer (or Calmer as a pet name 4laugh )
Physical description: Calling in at dead on 6 foot, Cal isn't overbearing so much as a little tall. Somewhere in his late 20s, his face is mostly cleanshaven which gives him an almost boyish look, something not opposed by his slightly less than serious attitude. Most of the time he can be found in a loose yukata, and rarely wearing shoes, unless crossing muddy ground or water. Whatever the time of year, a light sea blue silken scarf is found wrapped around his neck, often masking his face to a point where it's hard to tell if he's smiling or not. The jaunty hat marks him as someone who, to all points, enjoys a good day out with friends, although he still bears a blade upon his back in case of incident.
Personality: Mostly laid back, Cal spends most of his time sunbathing, resting in the shadow of trees, or sipping sake. He has a kindly attitude to most things, and is generally too peaceable to be risen to anger, more likely to take a jovial or friendly point of view, even for those whose character he is uncertain of. He bears the air of a friendly teacher, unconcerned with the harsh wars back and forth between Spammers and the more righteous Modists. A cat with long claws hidden.
History: (I'm not a fan of presenting histories in character biographies - I tend to keep them in character knowledge - hence, the following is a brief outline, no more) Raised by adoptive parents, Cal was capable but mostly his own enemy when it came to education: when his imagination was captured by a subject, he excelled, but otherwise, he was content with averages, even if he could have done better. Eventually, he found his niche in swordplay, and spent much time learning the intricacies of combat with blade and scabbard. Come 19, both his parents disappeared without trace, which disrupted an otherwise scheduled life, and he spent most of the year getting back on his feet. Since then, he generally wandered, working with what his parents left behind to make enough money to survive on (several early investments kept him well financed and fed), and killing time working with a sword. As regards Mod, and Modism, he is aware of their presence, but is more likely to stick around for the philosophical discussion than for any specific religious reasons.
Skills: Well trained with a sword, agile, and a fast runner. Magically somewhat capable but totally untrained, and without any real incentive to change this. Ultimately, his only real skill is that of swords and tactics: stances, hard and soft counter techniques, reactions and blade movement to inflict different types of wounds, and a good grasp of combat rhythm are his preferences. Although disinclined to start a fight, he is well practiced, both in real and orchestrated combat. Other than that, he mostly uses a friendly, outgoing personality and pleasant manners to get by (and information or friends in the right places if needed).
