Hi.
-wave-
I'm KIND OF good at editing, but I'm having SERIOUS trouble when it comes to reposing legs.

The details in the feet come really hard for me, and I'd love to be able to show individual toes for bare feet.

I'm also having trouble when it comes to drawing shoes. They don't look like socks because I don't trace the foot. But they don't look like SHOES because I don't trace the foot.
My shading is also off, especially on high heels.

And finally, after I repose the legs, I have trouble re-coloring the knees. The shine gets off, so that puts of the shading for the rest of the leg.

It's quite fustrating, and I'd love some help.

By the way, the Program(s) I use are MSPaint and Gimp.
I do the rough shading in Paint, then switch to gimp for dogeing, burning, and smudging.

can you post some examples of edits you have done that you were unhappy with? it would be easier to show you where to improve if you did

Sure.
The main thing I'm conserned about is the shoes, and how they come out like crap.
Here's what I mean:

This zombie chick was supposed to have a torn up prom dress with high heels, and as you can see they didn't come out so well:

And this hippie was supposed to be wearing flip flops, which ended up looking like cardboard under her feet:

I had... almost the same problem. And all the tutorials in the world wont help. All I can really say is practice. It helps A LOT to study the was they are done on Gaia, and how they look in real life. If you want, I can post a miniature tutorial. But they never helped me.

I would really appriciate the tutorial.

I've tried some of the regular sized doll tutorials, but it's hard to get the shading right since gaia av's feet are SOOOO small.

n_____n I love practicing. Editing is really a joy to me.

That's awesome. ^^ I don't edit much. In fact, I've only done about 5 edits or so. They're not good, but they're not bad at all for beginning edits, and I know that. I'm a critic, so that isn't just over-confidence. >>; I think, if I editted more, in about 20 edits or so I could be good or even sort-really good! However, I just don't have the dedication. xD

So now, about your shoes.

For your high heels, their shape is off. The heel should be longer and skinner, and the shoe-part shouldn't be so round, it should be sharper. The feet need to be more angled, too. The heel forces to zombie into a tippy-toe like state. Show this by making the outline point down. The heel's bottom and the toes' bottom should be equal, standing on flat ground.

As for the flip-flops... Think more about how flip-flops work. Does the strap just come out between the big and second toe, then disapear? It usually comes between the big and second toe, yes, but then it goes all the way to the side of the feet.

I like the hippie edit. <3 Especailly the shirt, it's done well! Good luck improving your feet! heart
