Kipestshin's Medusa Shop Mission Statement

This shop is run in light flavor of Petshop of Horror (by Matsuri Akino). This shop has had several incarnations since petstores first apeared on Gaia, and was the first PSoH themed shop. This shop is NOT a shop for people new to breedables, please be aware of that. (tbc)




i usually like to put the rules on the bottom, cause i like to think you are all kind and wise people (or can at least fake it) probably will move them there.

(NEW rules. These deal with IC(in character) acting and mantence of your pet. TBC)
1. Pets are a privilage, not a right. If you harrass players and do not read the rules/basic backstory you run the risk of being 'banned'. If you are banned, your medusa will not be rehomed. Banned player medusa end up elsewhere. Lets hope that isn't needed. Banning is not something i ever want to do.

2. Humans > Medusa. This means your medusa CANNOT kill a person. Even maiming goes against instints. If you feel you need violence as part of your medusa's character, run it by me. A medusa can have an awful front (ie Thomas) but cannot make good on threats. Please don't exploit this.

3. Journals. Medusa are minimally(sp) journal required. This means please set up a journal in the guild once you have recived your pet. updating once every 3 months would be ideal. Once a year at worst. If you do not wish to keep a journal, please be aware this can affect your chances at breeding spots (see section on breeding). Holiday gifts and whatnot are dropped off via journals. Not PMs.

4. Copyright. image usage will be covered more in depth n the guild. By accepting a pet you agree to this shop's terms. (they are very basic... don't worry)

5. Join the guild. (click Kipestshin's WWW) RP events and other events (raffles, freebies, etc.) are held there. Even WITHOUT owning a medusa you may join. If you are hopping for one, i recomend it.

6. Mailing list. To join our mailing list, please friend request this Mule.

7. Role Play. RP is NOT mandatory, but recommended. if i know your medusa (though chatting or journal) it might be easier for you to get a breeding spot. or sketches... >.> Your medusa will NOT be taken away if you do not RP.

8. This shop is for enjoyment. Particularly mine XD. but i am happy when people are happy, so please be aware this shop doesn't produce pets all the time, paticularly around mid october-first of febuary. If you are trying to get one for someones birthday/annaversery/holiday present PLAN AHEAD. i will not take kidly to being whined at and made to feel awful. cause it makes me feel like a horrid person i can't just drop everything and give everyone what they want. Its something i'm working on.

9. Coloring/lineart. I'm always trying to improve my art in both ways. I reserve the right to change up my bases and coloring techniques at any time.

10. Guest Artists. Currently i am NOT allowing guest artists. sorry. thank you all for your interest.

i don't mind if you save stuff you like in some folder in the abyss of your computer, please do. but do not take credit for the art and please don't use it without permission. if you have any doubt please ASK. i wlecome those kind of questions. ^__^ i'm pretty nice about it okay? please don't be scared.

now the rest of the 'rules' are pretty much guidlines. if you feel something is being bent to far.. let me know and i'll work it out. but we are all here for a bit of fun and there is no reason to get bent out of shape ^_^

2. Kip dosn't really type as well as she should, so no being a nazi about it. she will return the favor. but try to be ledgible. (but feel free to point out my flaws on the front page. i kinda like to fix those XD)

3. PLEASE try not to PM me. i do read back pages on the shop. post questions here unless you think they are better sent in a PM. i get flooded by the most random spam and don't want to loose your message. plus someone here might know the answer ^_^

4. i am NOT a gaia addict. so i'm not on every day of the week. and when school starts i'm on even less. please don't think i'm ignoring you. i'm not. ... okay i a a forum member not addict. i'm sure there is some difference.... some... somewhere.

5. BE NICE. for the love of stuff, please try to be polite. i don't want people walking on glass, but i really don't take well to people acting like asses. it makes me sad. makes others sad too.

6. i know there is stuff i'm forgetting. there always is. but you guys know the basic stuff. i'm not a hard a**... i'm just one person. i like to draw and i like to see people happy. it makes me happy. so thats why i do this ^__^

concerning PET TRADES:

i love pet trades ^_^ i never get the time to wander shop to shop to see all the stuff people are doing. i however CANNOT do RP pets. i am an artist not a writer... and i am DAMN forgetful when it comes to it. so if your shop deals in those and you want a trade, please make the RP not required for me. hell you can even just trade the last stage of a pet. i really don't care. i enjoy art in all forms. .... however....

i am not made of time. if i DO decline a pet trade with you, its NOT cause i don't like your pet or think its not good enough. it its probably because i don't have time to trade, or it just might not be my slice of cake. its absolutly not personal and i always feel bad not doing the trade. but its always worth a shot ne? ^___^

i am fond of Sesshomaru themed pets, Vampire Hunter D themed ones, Bird Howl (Howl's Moving Castle), other Miyazaki movies, and Snake/Medusa themed ones. plus other stuff... but yeah, those tend to um get my attention more XD *not in any particular order*

MEDUSA info:

you wanna RP your medusa? fun ^_^ RP is rather informal here and usually takes place int he shop, or over AIM/MSN as some people like to do. Concerning 'journals'... i ask that you do set one up, but details will be provided later. this is NOT an RP mandatory journal. the difference will be explained once i type it all out. i'm pretty open to most things ^_^ (RP is NOT required or expected.. it just happens XD)

How do i get a breeding spot?! *dies*

Thats a good question. You don't! BUWAHAHA... oh. Actually you can. More info will come on this later, but breeding requirements have changed. The person requesting the breeding must upkeep on their journal (a simple thing to do honestly) all the otehr medusa they want to breed with do not have too. This is to stop frivolous breeding. Breeding takes even longer then a regular medusa. It also will hopefully turn this shop around from a breeding based shop to a more fun RP and hang out based shop, as it was ment to be and was before breeding was introduced ^_^ but i digress. Breeding spots will most likely be done in raffles (where only the winner pays), gifts/prizes, or auction.


why are they 'medusa'?

okay, i get a mixed amount of flack for calling them that. think of it as a sub-species, not decendents of THE Medusa. they are called that because of there paralizing gaize. hence the see through blindfolds. your medusa are not blind. they just wear the masks to keep you and your other pets safe. medusa cannot paralize each other. (but the real reason is my first batch were called medusa and it stuck XD plus Naga is hindu and um.... yeah, they don't turn people to 'stone')

OMG how can my medusa have babies and not be heartbroken i sold them?!

medusa families are set up different then human ones. some medusa are monogomus, but most generally are not. and when they are, they will sometimes going into mating orgies (XD i cannot remeber how that was worded before) with other medusa durring breeding, then returnt o there mate. this isn't looked down upon at all. particularly because medusa know they are your pets, and you are the law. when you tell tehm what to do they may be really unhappy about it, but tend to follow through. they also are not as deathly attached to there offspring like human parents. they know it tends to be better for there babies to go out and meet new people, so don't worry about selling them. some medusa that have been raised with people all there lives tend to find this is a bit harder to do.

what do they eat? and can they eat a whole cow?

they eat most of the things you and i would. some medusa are vegetarian, some are not. they are quite diverse. the largest thing your medusa can eat whole is a watermellon. or small dog *GRIN* but they tend to not eat things that big often, and whent hey do they nap for quite some time... but whole oranges and apples seem to be a favorite. and gummy rats XD

Thomas is a b***h... and why dosn't Viktor wear a blindfold?

um... yes ^_^' he kinda is. sorry. *cough* and um.... *looks around shifty eyed* onto the next post! (Viktor can actually see... his eyes arn't sewn shut. they were goingt o be but that changed. he has kind of a contact that nulls the effects of his eyes. most medusa cannot stand them and wear the blindfolds.) *hums*

okay okay.. you have read through my rambling and REALLY WANT ONE!!!!
how do you get it? what will it cost?

well, i'm glad you want one, yay!
Medusa are avalible through a few ways:
flatsales
auctions
breeding sales
fat a** bribes XD
questing

Flatsales sound like what they are. you have the gold and post for it first, its yours. HOWEVER, these are not frequent, and may have limits on them. *rubs hands together* i do like to have fun...

Auctions will happen from time to time. perhapse a medusa is to extream or 'fancy' for a flatsale... or hatched early and needs a home. *shrugs* Info about auctions will go up before one is held.

Breeding sales are when a breeding has happened and the owners wish to sell the offspring. ... This seems to happen very infrequently.

Fat a** bribes... well... more will come here. we are talking devil tails... mini wings... crap like that.

Questing, i recomend for those serious about getting one. it stops you from whining that you never are a fast enough poster or whathaveyou. This does not garentee (sp =_=) you will get a medusa. It does however let people know you want one. And mor eimportaintly, it lets ME know... and knowing is half the battle X3

i tend to really not like to do cosplays. not cause tehy are hard, but cause people fight or RP kinda odd (not bashing anyone who has one already, cause you all are wonderful and funny xD) it just seems to really limit people. but if your heart is set, we can work something out. but yeah.... you have been warned. XP

how much is that frea- er snakey in the window?
prices are being refigured. i really want to keep these affordable, but i'm finding i have less and less time. These are not just some paint splashed pet, a lot of care and love go into them. try saving around 25k .... flatsales probably won't go above that i hope.

and maybe a theme hint?

well thats gonna cost a bit more. due to time and STILL recovering/finishing ones from x-mas, they are going to start at 75k. if you need a goal to save for. depending how well this goes, prices might change.

There is also a monthly medusa auction. these start at 50k and auto buy at 750k unless otherwise stated.

gaia ate my old shop so if you know you paid for something and are just wanting to make sure i didn't forget, post in the shop and i will get back to you. i have a list of ALL the x-mas medusa, so don't inquire about those please.

this also means my owners list and medusa name list are gone and need to be redone. if you request a name that was taken by a previous medusa and i didn't realiize it, the first medusa gets to keep it. i'm very bad with names and sorry for any problems this causes.

unique traits are 1 mill gold each. this isn't a joke. you also get to pick if you want it breedable or not with EACH breeding. so this might be your kind of thing if you want something super exotic.

there will be differnt types of medusa in the future, but say you wanted a multi armmed medusa... that might not be high on my list (or it might.... you never know X3)

i also refuse the right to sell you a trait. it would most likely be because i am planning on doing it. ^_^
