Well it took me a million billion years. But welcome to the Velvet's Winter Holiday/Welcoming in the New Years Bash. heart The event will run from Jan 2nd until Jan 5th, with stuff for everyone, whether you can stay and play, or can only drop in for a post or two. :3
Rping is always welcome and will be rather free styled. A few different raffles will be held, and some games as well. biggrin
More details will be added as we go and hopefully everyone will have a nice fun time.

Participation raffle: Just post atleast once in this thread and you get a ticket. Simple yeah? The winner will receive a picture of themselves and their velvet (and another velvet friend if they please).
Special raffle: So you've already participated huh? Well if you've got the free time to post atleast 5 times over the whole event you're free to enter the special raffle. If you win and have a velvet, they will be bestowed with a power (ability) of your choice (within reason of course) and if you don't have a velvet, then you'll be given the key to recieve one. Sound good yeah?
Ways to get tickets- You may buy up to 10, at 100g a piece. OR you can win more but taking place in the other games and events.
Picture contest First of the silly contests, giving you lots of time to get it done. :3
Draw a picture of anything velvet related. Humorous, serious, cute, it doesn't matter. Skill doesn't matter either as winners will be chossen based on creativity and effort. First prize- 4 tickets Second prize- 2 tickets Third prize- 1 ticket

Prizes will be added as the event goes on, and range from pictures, velvet add on's, and gaian items (nothing spectacular, as I'm poor as sin, but hopefully fun. :3 )

Rules:
1) I don't think I have to say this, but be nice to each other. :3
2) Myself and atleast one other person (possibly Nar, possibly a completely impartial person that's never met you guys) will be judging each of the different little events that have judging (some won't). Please don't bicker or argue about our choices, even if they aren't the ones you personally would have made.
3) You're free to rp as you wish and were you wish, but if you leave 'the shop' make sure to place in bold on your post where you are. Or, if you don't like that, feel free to make another board, just make sure you let ME know, so I still count it towards your posting totals.
4) I never made it clear in the first place, but PLEASE for the sake of sanity and logic, think of size scales when you are using powers. A creature the size of a stuffed animal causing a hurricane or splitting the earth in half with their magic (even if they did have a level 10 magic rating) is absolutely ridiculious. These animals are tiny, and therefore their magic (except in those 'special moments', like a mother being able to lift a car off their child) is also small. For blind example I'll use Ana's water powers as they're easy enough to understand. While at a high level Ana may be able to control the force of a small lake/pond, she will NEVER be able to pull the oceanic tides aside. Or simply put.. it's not fair for animals this small, to be able to destroy the world for everyone else. Whether it be a wind storm, meteor shower, volcanic explosion or other ridiculiously large act of destruction I CANNOT allow it.. as it would affect every other character in an indirect form of godmodding. Special circumstances aside, everyone please be careful about it, akay. :3
5) Try not to yell at Shannon if she isn't around at every moment, or dissapears suddenly. ;-; I'm having some kind of nasty family 'issues' these days, so it's a possiblity I'll be packed up and taken over to my dads for awhile.
Besides that, everyone just have fun, and if you have any qualms or questions feel free to mail me.

*LP yawned softly as looking at the time and then chuckles.* come on willow. If I'm not mistaken there's a party at the velveteen shop today! *LP looked to willow as she was fixing to head out. She had her bag with her again and was 'bout to head out after grabing willow. Sitting the tiger atop her head and they both headed out.* Maybe there'll be alot of people we know there. *she whistles and off they go towards the shop.*
*Willow looked at LP, wondering why one would throw a party today. Her tail flickered as she ducked low branches and looked around. She saw a rabbit scamper off and a few frogs now and then. She even watched the ants that where crawling up and down the trees. She was in a bit of a playful mood.* Rowl? *looking down at her owner the velvet wined slightly.*
We'll be there soon Willow, you can play then. I've even got ya a ball of yarn if you so wish to play with that. *she gave a soft nod as she ducked some of the lower branchs leaving the forest entering hte clearing where she could see the shop.* See Willow.... we're here
*The tiger gave a sigh and watched a butter fly flutter past she blinked and then watched it as the butterfly landed on her nose. The bug with wing spand and all could jsut about hide most of willow. It stayed there untill willow sneezed.*
Uh-oh.... *LP stoped and rolled her eyes up and then gave a chuckle* Awww pooor willow, did you get a butterfly on your nose? *she reached up and gave a pat to willows head before entering the shop. Once inside she looked around.* Ahah just as I thought there is a party to be here! look willow. It seems we're early. blaugh

Dragging a rather flustered prince and a rather mute magus behind him, both Kanth and Erae donned smiles on their faces as Kanth shoved both Adrian and Shard inside of the shop. He didn't want either of his 'old' friends to miss the party that was going on; part of the reason was because of the fact that he was going to get back at them in a bit of mischevious way, one way or another.
"C'mon, stop sulking, both of you. You two need to get out more. Shard, you're so pale I can nearly freeze my toes off being near you." Yeah... one would say that Kanth had an odd sense of humor. "And Adrian, stop biting your lip! This won't be so bad, I promise!"
Erae glanced around as soon as they entered the shop, looking for anyone to interact with. But not seeing any of his friends made him a bit put out, and he climbed back on Kanth's shoulder, glancing back to both of Kanth's friends who 'tagged along'. Not like they had a choice. Silently, he smirked to himself. He still had to get used to Shard, but Adrian was easy to get along with - he loved his personality.

As he pulled his aging SUV into a parking spot, Anastasia's guardian looked over to his young charge, where she was fiddling with the clasps of her modified car-seat. "Well, honey," he told her, "We're here... And this time, I'll stay the whole time with you. And if you want to leave early for any reason, or if there's any other trouble, you know you can always come get me, right?"
Still playing with the buckles on her seat, Anastasia nodded, fading slightly into the color of the seat itself. Her guardian shut off the engine, and reached over to unbuckle his passenger's harness. Together they exited the car, locked the doors, and sauntered around the back of the dilapidated strip mall that, in this town, held the door that would take them through to the Velveteen Toyshop.
As they walked, though, Anastasia continued to blend nervously with her surroundings. She was a little bit anxious about meeting so many people, even if she did already know them, but she had determined not to tell anyone, not even her looming companion. It was all right for him, she knew, because he was big, and in his own way more powerful or at least more dangerous than anyone else there... But even though she had her own powers, everyone else at this party had theirs as well. Like the bad guy had said in the movie they'd seen last week... When everyone is special, nobody is.
Anastasia was not especially thrilled at the idea of being nobody special, not around strangers.
The bell of the door jingled softly as the pair entered the shop, and they waved nonchalantly to those who had arrived before them. "Hey, everyone," Anastasia's companion called, "been a long time... but we're just like the bad penny, we are."
Anastasia spotted Erae and made a beeline for the familiar velvet, calling, "Hey, Erae! What've you been up to lately?"

*LP looked up and saw the group enter* Hey.... Ar, Ana, Erae..... uuhhhh the guy that's with erae..... *she paused stareing at him* Kanth that suppose to be you? *She shakes her head* But you coulnd't be kanth could you? *thinking for a second, well it was possible that, that was kanth but she had a hard time believe it.* And hello to you other fellows..... dun know ya but I'm LP nice ta met ya and state yer name. *she was trying to be silly but willow had other ideas in mind.*
*By now the tiger had left her owners head and sat there staring at her owner. Shaking her head she wondered what LP was trying to do. She also thought that her owner could make a pig fall over just by talking sometimes. Willow dug her claw into LP, which gathered a yelp from her and a what in the world stare. Willow sat there with a smirk and a twitch of the tail.*
Epppp Willow! Don't do that >.<' I'm gunna get you declawed if you keep that up *she looked at her leg, with no premant damage done. She lofted a brow at the tiger.* What do you want? Honestly thought you'd be off playing.

The man looked curiously at the felonious feline, and quirked his brow at LP. "She moves," he asked, "but not as a friend, yet? Well, perhaps soon she'll learn not to bite the hand that feeds her... nor claw its ankles, either. But you must be happy, LP, surely?"
Anastasia waved distractedly at LP with a quick, "Hey," as she waited for Erae to come down.

Erae jumped down and glomped Ana, smiling. "Hey! Haven't seen you for awhile! How is everything?" He pulled back and stared at Anastasia with beaming red eyes.
Kanth crossed his arms, glancing at LP. "Yes, I'm Kanth. Did you forget I was a shapeshifter? And it's good to see you, too, for that matter." He grinned.

Adrian Vincent Karlet stood near the entrance of the shop, trying to regain his breathing after the quick walk here. Actually, he'd been dragged for the most part by Kanth. He was discovering that being in the shapeshifter's presence usually overwhelmed him in some ways more than others.
He hadn't had time to even straighten his hair, so he reached up and tried to straighten out the red strands as much as possible. When he figured he was presentable, he glanced around the store. There were already several people here, and several... animals? He blinked. Yes, they did seem to be somewhat like the skunk Kanth always had with him.
Actually, Adrian realized that he'd been past this store before, but had never really had any purpose of venturing inside. He was too poor to consider getting a... "velvet" of his own. Keeping warm during the winter months came first.
Taking a deep breath, he put on his most glittering smile and tried to relax.

*LP chuckled* aye, well you'll have to forgive willow my friends. She wishs to play.... I suppose sometimes she's a loner more than friendly. *she looked down the the tiger* Anyhow.... *bringing herself back to the presant time* Aye, I'm very happy. Someone to talk to at home, but still not the same sometimes. *with a glance over to kanth* I didn't think you told me...... mybe you did. I've been so forget ful lately it's hard to tell. *she cracked a smile* So who's your friends? *eyeing the fellow that strightened his hair with her arms crossed and a questioning look on her face.*
*willow getting the idea that there are other she snuck over to them her tail flickers and she starts sniffing at the two other velvets. A brow lofts at the two and head mearly cocks to the side in question. She murs at the two.*

"That one's Shard," Moo answered before anyone else could, stepping completely into the shop and allowing the door to swing closed behind her. It wasn't her fault she had overheard. She flashed a quick grin to Shard to excuse herself for speaking for him, then turned a curious glance to Adrian. "I don't know him, though. Friend of yours, Kanth?"
Nodding greetings around the room, Moo snaked her way through the group of people to drop onto one couch, glancing around once more before flashing a grin. "Happy New Year, by the by. Welcome to '05."
Acia had left her caretaker's shoulder as soon as Moo opened the door, swooping low over the heads of the humans then diving to land on Kanth's shoulder beside Erae. She quickly waved down to Ana and Willow, then turned to the skunk, flashing a cheerful grin and giving him a quick hug. "Hallo Erae! Come on the floor so we can talk to Ana an' Willow, alright?"
Without waiting for a reply, Acia jumped off of Kanth's shoulder, waiting to catch herself until she was only a foot or so from the ground. The breeze caught her easily, carefully lowering her the final distance to the ground, where she ran over to greet Ana. "Hallo Ana!! Happy New Year! And Merry Christmas, late! How've you been?"
((Annnnd...then I notice Kanth's post xDD On well, just edit it in your own mind))
