This thread will tell you almost everything you need to know about the Streets. The rest is.. well.. street smarts.

1. Introduction - You are here
2. Rules - Please read these before you roleplay
3. Main Characters - A compact profile of well-known characters in the area

Rules

1. Follow the T.O.S that Gaia laid out when you joined this website. Obviously you must know something about it, because you're not banned yet.

1a. Swearing is perfectly fine as long as it's not ******** this s**t that every other word. If you have a violent character (or one with tourettes for that matter) then make sure you use swearing sparingly if at all.

2. You are not Neo. You are not the 'end-all-be-all' of the Universe (Matrix in this case) or anyone of such significant importance that everyone knows who you are (unless a storyline calls for it).

The point of the Matrix is to fit in and so you're likely going to play a character that is only a piece of the puzzle such as a police officer, a program with the ability to turn invisible, a human thief, or a Zion operative. These are not your only options. Remember, these are just guidelines.

3. Characters of extreme power must be submitted to me (Agent Schuler) or one of the crew for review. You can do this through PM by sending the character's profile. If you're not sure whether or not your character is too powerful, submit it and we'll decide for you. It is fine to play a powerful character so long as there are limits placed on him/her.

4. When a fight occurs, make sure all of your attacks are attempts. If you make your moves definite, it doesn't leave any room for the other person to choose what their own character is doing. Breaking this rule will result in either a stern talking to or a ban from the guild if it persists.

ie: Agent Jerk cuts Rebel Bob in half.

Sorry, Agent Jerk, but you need to try cutting him in half. No doubt he's likely to do a backflip over your head and try to kick you in the arse.

4a. In addition to this, please make sure your character doesn't always dodge everything that is thrown at him/her. Nobody likes fighting a person who is invincible.

5. Try to keep your posts at a moderate length. I do not expect paragraphs from everyone at all times, but one-word or emoticon posts are typically frowned upon.

6. Information you read here stays here unless your character has experienced it first hand or has had someone roleplay spying for you.

Just because you read a post about a meeting between two characters doesn't mean your character 'heard about it' or 'knows someone who knows someone'. Be fair, guys.

Characters

As with every roleplay, the Streets have some 'main characters'. These are figures which are (usually) commonly known to people who are aware of the Matrix. Such people include the Merovingian, Animator, and others on this list.

--

The Merovingian
User Image
This man is a kingpin of crime and information when it comes to the streets. Want to know something? He knows it. Want to posess something? He either has it or knows exactly how to get it. But be careful, this powerful programmer never gives without taking something in return.

Be wary of his underlings, ask around too much and you may find them sniffing your trail..

--

The Animator/Hacking Programs
User Image
Few know of this particular program's actual identity, but it is widely known that several of these types of 'glitch programs' are constantly creating problems within the Matrix in the form of other glitches, programmed criminals, and problematic political individuals.

Programs of this type usually keep well-hidden due to their frequently odd appearances and their 'criminal' status in the view of the machines.

The Animator, a programmer and hacker, is neutral when it comes to alliances and will be cordial to all he encounters even if he does not respond to their business propositions. It is very difficult to convince this program to hack the Matrix for you, but not impossible..

--

Agents
User Image
User Image
The police of the Matrix. If you're up to no good, be wary of these men. If you're aware of the Matrix at all? Be on your guard. If you're aware of the Matrix AND are up to no good? Run.

--

Blue Pills
User Image
Commonly referred to as 'pills', these are the humans who make up a majority of the Matrix. They remain blissfully (or sorrowfully) unaware of the Matrix and the fact that it exists. Consider them innocent bystanders in the face of under-the-table Matrix affairs.
