Gold shimmered as darkness swam, blinding rose eyes blinked as brilliance shone in them, the morning sun reflected from them as the rest of his body soaked it all up. The sunrise was brilliant, making the male growl even more. To him it didn't matter, to him it would never really matter.
"At least it isn't night." Inzondo-mnyama growled under his breath. "Night always makes my skin crawl."
It was true, darkness made Inzo's fur all stand on end and made it hard for him to sleep. It wasn't something that he admitted willingly to those around him, it wasn't something anyone even knew either. The only one that knew of it was dead, slaughtered by the claws of those that they had been born to.
The question now was... what was he to do? Inzondo had been on his own ever since Okoth and he had eaten their 'father' and Okoth had run away. Now here he was, all by himself in the world with nothing to do and nowhere to go.
A snarl broke from his muzzle and a rock smacked into a tree as the lion rolled to his feet and stalked to go find something to eat. At the very least he was good at that. ninja

Trigger gathered three dead zebras together from a hunt. He looked down at them, their bodies, they lifeless bodies. At least they will be used to fuel the living and keep them going. It was just a transition of power...right? He sighed and laid down, one of them was still breathing and sort of struggling away. The large male watched as it moved along with so much suffering. It whinnied and cried out in pain. He cocked a brow, crossed his paws and waited. Such a pathetic view. He should just end it's life.
"Hurry up, zebra, your life is near it's end. If you still plan on living, just get up and run." he mocked knowing that he had wounded the equin too much, to near fatal wounds, for it to just get up and run. With a sigh, the lion pulled him up and looked around. Maybe he could grab a quick rabbit and eat it as he watched this one try to get away.
A moment had passed and Trigger laid himself down again this time with a small rabbit in his paws. The zebra had not moved far. Truely pathetic.
It's cries and whinnies could be heard for miles.

A whinny met Inzondo's dark ears and the lion stopped for a moment, the sunrise gilding his fishbone marked back with shimmering light that seemed to reflect everywhere. The sound was the sound of a dying creature.
Something deep down inside the gruff firekin shifted and he shoved it down once more. The pity was just a weakness that he wouldn't afford himself the time to deal with it. However... something made his black paws slowly start to walk in that direction until the beast came into his rose colored view. A lion lay beside it snacking on a tiny rabbit. Hunting for fun?
A frown lit Inzo's face and the spider's web design from his eye pulled taught suddenly. Two steps took him into view, another few steps put him standing with his parallel to the struggling striped monster. The merits of putting it out of its own and his own misery swirled through Inzondo's sharp mind for a moment before the large lion swiped at it with a claw and ended its cries.
Flicking rose eyes over to the other lion, Inzondo swished his golden and black striped tail and started on his way off wordlessly. ninja

Trigger quirked a brow and put the rabbit down to make his way over to the murdered zebra. That was rather quick and subtle. He smirked and looked back at the other.
"Rather ruthless of you, but in this zebra's case you saved it from a prolonged death. So, stranger, are you going to take your kill?"
His paw turned his head to the left then the right and grabbed it. Technically, it was this other male's kill. He just happened to be the one who weaked it to the state of having it to crawl away. Oh well, his wait was short lived and the kill was taken from him.
"So, what's your name stranger? Trigger's mine."

Twisting so sharp rose eyes could take in the form of the other before him, Inzondo failed to make an expression at all. Slight afrontedness slid behind his eyes as he was asked wether or not he would take his kill.
"You were the one that took it down. I simply took care of the less than agreeable part of the job." Inzondo said simply. He didn't answer at first, simply stared at the zebra and ignored his silently growling stomach.
The kill may have been his, but the large black and gold male knew that he was more than capable of taking care of himself, knew that he could go and find a zebra for himself. If he tried to eat this one odds were very good the firekin before him would demand part of it and he rarely shared unless given a very good reason.
"Hm... Inzondo-mnyama. Just call me Inzondo." He sighed slightly. Here he was talking to a lion again, one of the ones that killed his twin no less. Exhaustion tugged at him and Inzo tried not to let it win. ninja

Trigger narrowed. He reached down and closed his maw harshly around the already dead zebra and carried it over to him, dropping it.
"Take it. I got my own fill. Just take it."
He replied rather sternly and seriously. He was not gonna take no for an answer. If he had to he would forceably shove the damned thing down this lions throat. He had some morals, but...they tend to slip from time to time. Trigger narrowed again, his purpils growing a bit thin toward this other. Something about this other lion made him feel angry, dunno what it was....was it killing his slight entertainment? Was it because he was denying him of his kill? Whatever it was, it was putting him in an off mood and making his Firekin blood boil up again.
"Inzo, take the damn zebra and eat it right in front of me. You will take your kill."
He added.
"Or I will make you eat it."

There was an instant where Inzo's eyes flashed and his puples nearly dissapeared from anger. No one played with his pride, he didn't take that zebra down, what right did he have to tell him when he would eat and how he would eat? It went against his principles.
"Look... I may have killed that thing but it was YOU who brought it down. I have principles, any lion that was strong enough to take down a zebra alone deserves it. Not the lion that killed it for the annoying noise that came from it's mouth." Inzondo said slowly, his rose eyes dulling as he squashed the anger boiling inside of him.
A muscle on his back twitched and showed through the skin that was pulled tight over his frame. There were muscles there, but it looked as if he had none. Inzondo-mnyama was strong, stronger than he looked, but one raised by a cheetah father was doomed to live the life of a cheetah, eating like one was just the other part of it.
"Besides, if I really wanted zebra I could easily get my own. Take it back to your pride." There was no smile to mask his words, nothing about him was normal, nothing spoke of a lion. If Trigger really wanted him to take that then he'd have to catch him, but a grown lion that could catch a zebra would never be able to keep up with him at all. He simply had too much muscle. ninja

Trigger narrowed and brought the zebra up to Inzo, head in his big paw. A growl remained in his chest.
"Take it. Besides, I don't have a pride and I can't carry three things back with me to whereever I am to go. So it is better off eaten than to go to waste. It would be a pointless kill if it goes to no use at all. That is what I was taught and I am sticking to it. If you aren't gonna take it, I am gonna shove it down your throat."
He threatened. Was that a lecture or more of a threat? His pale eyes looked upon his frame briefly before settling his eyes back down to his. Red, where had he seen those eyes before? Red was the color of his 'Pride' the monsters that had given him nothing but grief. He could feel his blood boil more and more but tried to supress it the best he could. He still had to return to Mwana and well...it would not be pleasant coming back to a friend in blind rage.
Trigger head the dead prey in his paw waiting for this other's response. It was beginning to annoy him that Inzo would not take it. He didn't care if he was the one who took it down. As far as Trigger saw it, Trigger's principle was better and overwrited Inzo's.
"Just take it, Inzo."

Bristling angrily and finally taking two steps forward, Inzondo-mnyama ripped the zebra from the other and dropped it onto the ground, ripping two large chunks from it with his teeth. He would regret them later since zebra meat was a little too rich for him with how small his stomach was. He would feel sick and most likely throw up all of it later since he'd eaten far too much just now.
"Happy?" He growled. He couldn't eat anymore of it, he would get sick on Trigger's feet if he did, but all the same at least he'd eaten some of it. Standing and letting blood slide down his muzzle slowly without cleaning it off, Inzo ruffled the fur at his shoulders.
"It's not like I've got anyone to share it with, so the rest of it will go to waste now." Inzondo said gruffly, the anger at wasted food quite evident in his voice. "It's a pity that you can't get past your pointless pride and share it or eat it yourself, odds are you could use it more than a lion with a shrivled stomach could."
Frowning deeply and turning so his white striped tail swished, Inzondo tried to ponder where he would go. The sun was out, glinting off of his shimmering gold fur, there was enough time in the day for him to do just about anything, maybe he could go somewhere and find someone that could use him. It wasn't that he didn't like prides, it was that there was never one that would take in an anorexic lion for fear that he was diseased and his hunting skills all went to waste on himself when he couldn't eat more than a cheetah's share of anything. ninja

"Quite."
He looked down at the mutulated corpse and back to Inzo. So he didn't eat all of it. A pointless kill, but then again the poor thing got in the way of his swipe and ended up injured. He might've survived, maybe not, if Inzo had not killed it, it might've. Too bad, it was dead and there was no turning back now with a good chunk of its body missing. With a shrug, Trigger smirked.
"Carrion of the scavengers then. No food is wasted here. If we leave it, then a scavenger will to it one way or the other."
His red tipped tail swung similar to Inzo's as he faced out to the horizon. The sun was setting and his fur was growing darker, hopefully, during the night, he could dissipate the heat that had acumulated in his fur and start fresh tomorrow. Looking about he fell back to Inzo. He looked trouble for a moment. Crap, another Trig moment was coming.
"Inzo, you seem like a good lion but you seem a bit under weight. If ya keep eating, maybe you would keep some of that meat on your bones. However, if we meet again and you are as bad as you are now, I will beat the living crap out of you. Got it? Good."
With a shove, the lion moved on and quickly headed out back to the tree where he had left Mwana. He had a feeling that she would want to see him again after being gone 'til sun down. Oh well.
