My friend (whom I call Nii-sama) keeps griping about the fact that the Naruto series seems unfair and unrealistic, even though he's a fan of the action scenes (and the Naruto!harem fandom).
He has asked me these questions like these:
1) How is it that genin from Konoha can easily beat Jounin from other villages when elite ninja from other villages can't? (He's referring to the fillers.)
2) How is it that a female Chuunin (Sakura) and an old woman (Chiyo) could beat an Akatsuki (Sasori) who's brought down a whole country?
I'm tired of arguing with him that fillers are fillers and fillers are usually dumb, and that Sakura being strong is a plot device for Kishimoto to allow Sakura to grow. But he's so close-minded. Anyone try to help?

1.) It's fillers. Let's think of all the times the genin COULDN'T beat higher nin.
- Haku/Zabu
- Sound Four (Yes, they were beaten, but not without close deaths.)
- Kabuto
- Kakashi (1st bell test)
2.) Because Chiyo knew Sasori personally, because Chiyo had more experience than Sasori, because Sakura is a VERY skilled medic, because two skilled ninja are greater than one skilled ninja, because grandmas pwn, and because (as you said) Kishi wanted to show that Sakura's strength, and foremost: Determination, has grown. <3

And Didn't Chiyo say that Sasori aloud himself to die or something?
The parents Sasori made into puppets, Chiyo used to kill him in a hug (lmao weird) and ugh I can't explain it.

Tell him that it's not all about the levels. There are other factors involved such as luck, circumstances, etc...
