Asherah was enjoying her free time. Her rest from a weary journey wasn't so restful, however. She was reveling in her own speed instead of sleeping and recharging for the next leg of the journey. A black blur, she tore across a stretch of grassland.
If there was one thing she loved about herself, it was this. Being so 'lithe' and 'lean' (not skinny and runt like when she was running - when running, she felt beautiful)... swift and surefooted....Asherah, as the old cub saying went, could 'keep up with cheetahs' - though she'd never met an cheetah to see if there was any truth in that.
For once, she was proud of herself.

He yawned, peered around. Something was bringing him here, calling to him. Someone's sense of pride, he knew it, he could even almost taste it upon his tongue. Licking his lips the black god continued along, white eyes looking around for what brought him this way...
It distracted him from finding his brother.
Katana'k then saw it...well, her. Lean, slim, fast. He smirked to himself, she's quite lovely as well. Perhaps it was her pride bringing him here? He had to admit, females with pride in themselves was something he lived to see. It made him feel like there was hope for the world yet.
He began to run in her direction, not as a threatening run, but one to catch up with her. He even used the wings on his forearms as well as his back to help him try and catch up with her.
This would be interesting.

Oh dear.
That sense of pride faltered, wavered and finially went out when Asherah realised someone was out here too - and heading her way at that. It looked like what a God should look like, to go by what she'd been told. The wings were a dead give away.
She loped to meet him, the proud lionness mentally retreating and replaced by a worried lost cub. Shy, she let her floof of 'mane' flop over one eye and she kept her head low. And tried to even out her breathing, panting at a stranger would be rude.
"Greetings....lord..." Of Something. Some gods were easy to place, like that Fish fellow, just by looks. This guy was just darkly handsome.

As Katana'k slowed to meet with her, he watched and felt as her pride seemed to leave her...why was that? Had he scared her? "Don't worry...I won't harm you, bring your pride back to yourself, a beautiful lioness such as yourself who holds pride within herself is more beautiful then the sun and moon to me..." he said with a smile and a bow.
He was noble...at times, he did have his times of anger though, however, those times faded away rather quickly.
He raised a brow and tilted his head somewhat, fluttering his wings, "Lord? My name is Katana'k luv' no need for such a title," he bowed his head in respect, thus formally introducing himself, "I am Katana'k, God of Pride. May I ask for you name my dear?"

"I'm Asherah." She bowed her head further and tried to muster something better than a half hearted smile. She was embaressed, really. No one had ever seen her enjoying a run before and Ash was sure she looked a fool - all high on her own speed.
"I wasn't worried that you'd harm me. Pride...so you inspire people to take pride in themselves or...?" She wondered if it was rude to question a god about his domain.

"Inspire?" well, that was one word for it, "I try to help others achieve having pride in themselves, whether it be through inspiration or..other methods, however, those who take pride in themselves I am drawn to...as I was today. Those who have pride and are in my presence, can feel invisible."
That came in handy when some were at war.
He remembered those times all too well.
"Tell me Asherah, what might be one as lovely as yourself be doing all alone out here?"

"I'm taking a break from a long journey. We syopped near here, and my companion decided to rest." The lionness didn't think twice about telling the truth - she had nothing to hide after all. She did mention her friend Auron though, since she'd been warned of letting people know she travelled alone sometimes.
"And had my....pride not drawn you, what would a god such as yourself be doing? Forgive my curiousity. I've never met a god before."

"long journeys can be hard, I know that. Stopping to rest is always a good idea, I've had to stop many a time on my journey," he said with a nod and a flick of his tail. His eyes watched her, he hadn't really seen one as dark pelted as himself in a long while.
"I am traveling such as yourself, do not be worried, curiosity is good in others, it helps one find out things they wish to know."

Her tail flicked and her demeanor changed, a touch of confidence returning. A little bit of pride for her way of life. Travelling - something in common for them then, besides the blackness of their fur.
"I"ve been travelling since I was very young. Often alone, so it's nice to have company. Are you a lone rogue, Katana'k?" Or were gods not considered rogues if they didn't have prides? Did they have prides?

"Unfortunately I am my dear, it seems traveling is quite a lonely time for me, that is why I am glad to have found someone like you on my way, so that even if for a few moments, I may have some contact with another, and even more so, someone with pride such as you." He was glad for her company, so much so she would probably never know.
"I am glad to hear that you are not alone correct? With a friend?"

"Someone I hope will become a friend, yes. " Ash hadn't know Auron for long but he seemed such a nice guy and he put up with her moonswings, her oddness. It wasn't a close relationship, but he'd brought something social into her life again.
"Perhaps you should find a companion, if you're lonely."

"Mhmm, yes a companion would be nice, but I doubt anyone would want to be in my company for long periods of time, I do tend to have my 'moments' if you know what I mean," he said with a chuckle. Yes, he had his outbursts, his hate for his brother, normal stuff for him, strange to others no doubt.
"I'm sure whoever it was will become your friend," nodding firmly, hes, whoever didn't make friends with her was quite idiotic.

"I'm surprised he's stuck around as long as he has. I have more than just moments." She smiled, a wild sort of smile with just a hint of her fangs. Oddly, she was pleased for once that sometimes, her moods swung as they did. Towards a more angry persona, a flirty temptress or the swift, merciless hunteress.
One couldn't be a sweet friendly thing all the time after all. A doting sister, a kind friend, shy and soft...it may have seemed odd to others, but she did change sometimes.

"Then perhaps he cares for you then? Sometimes the heart will drive people to endure whatever they must to be close to who they wish, from what I've heard that is," Katana'k said with a nod. The black god hoped that things would go well with her and whoever this other was. He hated it when females had their hearts broken and their sense of pride was extinguished.
Though Asherah seemed strong, and he figured that would never happen...least he hoped.

"Oh no my lord. We're just friends and travelling companions...I'm sure Auron doesn't have any other intentions." She chuckled softly, tail flicking again. Auron wouldn't care about her in such a way, surely? Though why not. She was a beautiful lionness, she was sure, if the god in front of her was a model for those with black fur.
"I'm afraid I keep my heart close."
