Padding through the land, Briar heaved a sigh. Once more, he was alone. He wasn't sure why being alone suddenly bugged him as much as it did. When Sky Flier first left to spend his days with Medley, Briar had hardly even noticed the feeling of loneliness. He had missed the little Numa he thought of as a brother, but he hadn't truly felt alone.
Briar shook those thoughts from his mind. If he was alone, there was really only one thing to do: go meet and make friends with other Numas.

Diana heaved a dissatisfied sigh. Prodding at a candy bush with a paw, she wondered why she couldn't seem to make friends. She was convinced she was nice and pretty enough. Of course, she was also terribly frightened of most other numas. They were all so big! And noisy!
She'd only ever met a soft-spoken numa once before. And Mr McCoy had gone away to travel the world.
"'s not fair," she muttered. "I want to find some friends."

Briar paused in his walking, ears pricking forward. Had he just heard someone speak? Or were his ears playing tricks on him? He followed the direction he thought he had heard something in and stopped again when he spotted the lavender colored Numa.
"Hello there!" Briar called out, hoping he didn't scare the other Numa away.

Jumpng slightly as another numa hailed her, Diana spun around with a racing heart and stared for a moment at the dark red male who'd appeared. Managing to smile politely, she waved a shaky paw.
"Hello! I'm sorry, I didn't hear you approach."

Briar took note of the shakiness of the other's paw. "I'm sorry if I frightened you," he apologized as he made his way over to her. "I thought I heard something while I was walking, and so I came to investigate."

Visibly relaxing, Diana smiled widely and cocked her head to the side.
"It's all right, truly. I guess I need to learn to not hold conversations with myself if I don't want to be frightened, no?"
Chuckling to take any sting from her words, she held out a paw.
"I'm Diana."

Briar had to smile a little at her words. "Nothing wrong with talking to yourself," he said, taking her paw with his own. He drew it up and kissed the back side of the paw. "I'm Briar."

Blushing rather profusely at the display of chivalry, Diana smiled nervously and sought for somethign to talk about.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Briar."

"The pleasure is all mine," Briar said, smiling at her as he released her paw.
He pondered what to say next. "Have you been in the land long?" Not exactly the greatest of topics, but it was a start.

"A few months," Diana replied, becoming slightly more relaxed as the conversation continued. "How about you?"
She settled herself comfortably into the grass as she waited for his response. Briar seemed a pleasant enough companion, she thought as the sun warmed her back. She was not at all adverse to keeping the conversation going.

"Not even half a year yet, I think," Briar answered, pondering just how long he had been in Numa Land. He shook those thoughts from his mind and grinned at her. "Have you liked it here?"

Wrinkling her nose in thought, Diana carefully considered the question.
"I like it, but it can be very noisy at times. I'd really like to explore it more, but I'm afraid I don't really know where the dangerous areas are yet." she chuckled softly for a moment. "I like a little danger, but I don't want to get hurt or see others hurt."

Briar thought about that. He hadn't been everywhere in Numa Land, so he didn't know all the dangerous parts himself.
"Well," he said, "I know the Molasses Swamp should be avoided. The Candy Mountain isn't too dangerous, but climbing up it might be." He recalled the last time he had tried that with Bliss.
"But the Gummy Tree Forest and the lake are safe."

"I wouldn't mind climbing the mountain someday. It would be a great adventure, don't you think?"
Diana smiled at that thought. Granted she wasn't the most social of Numas, but surely if someone had gotten to the top of the mountain she'd have heard of it by now?

Briar nodded. "However, I think I should lose some weight before testing that mountain again," he said with an awkward chuckle. Though perhaps building up some muscle would help as well.
