Offical Pridelands Ranks Thread
In the pridelands there have long been very few rankings. Everyone was free to do as they pleased and everyone helped out where needed. While the queen Kamilika still hopes that will be the case, the pride has grown large enough (and diverse enough) that she felt new ranks needed to be formed. After all, not everyone (herself included) are well fit to be a hunter.
The default ranks for the pride are youth and hunter/ess. Everyone is free to have one of those titles and noone is obligated for a change. This is mostly for people who want a little extra plottage, responsibility, or have characters that simply don't fit into the 'hunter' class.

Rules~ This is first come, first serve. If everything is full then you need to wait for someone to retire, leave, or die.
However, perhaps you could strike up an apprenticeship with someone?
~ New ranks will have added responsibility. Instead of the 3 month rule, people with the new ranks will have a 1 1/2 month rule. You must post atleast once every month in a half, or else you risk losing your ranking. Also your name will be listed, so be weary that people may pm you or poke at you for rp.
~ Your character must be fitted to the task. The queen will be doing background checks and watching before she allows someone into an important rank. So keep that in mind. If your character has abused a child don't expect to be nanny.
~ Do NOT try to bully people out of their ranks. As the pride grows in size I may add more numbers, I simply want there to be enough hunters right now to feed everyone.
~ Post applications here! Also feel free to ask questions here, so I know what info I need to add. :3

Offical Pridelands Ranks and Jobs
Youth - Default ranking for all cubs and juviniles. They aren't expected to do anything other then learn and grow. :3
Unlimited - Currently 58
Hunter/Huntress - This is the default ranking that every new member, or any member reaching adolscent recieves. They are expected to hunt for themselves and share with those around them that cannot.
Unlimited - Currently 45
Head huntress - A special ranking for the lioness that leads group hunts for the benefit of the pride. She must be strong and a good leader, for when in the hunting group all other hunters must obey her commands and requests.
1 position - Jahzara (Tormented Angie)
Scout - Unlike the traditional sense of the word, Prideland scouts roam around the lands and borders working as a welcome wagon for the pride. They assist people in when necessary, show a kind face of the pridelands, and just generally keep an eye on things. Another one of their task is attempting to thwart cubs crossing the border lines quite so often.
15 positions - Currently 3
~ Bushido
~ Usiku'umeme
~ Mastema
Head Scout - One person in which all the scouts report any important happenings to. Every scout is more then welcome to go directly to the queen, but more often then not it's easier simply to pass the word through the head scout. (S)he has the authority to appoint certain areas be more closely guarded then others.
1 position - Mosi (Tahja Estes)
Nannies (Storytellers) - Nannies look after the children! Not only there own, but any children that need attending to while their parents are hunting or otherwise busy. Nannies can be male or female and need not have children of their own. As long as they show good skills with children and a protective nature they will be accepted.
There is a special sub section of storytelling nannies. These nannies are well versed in myths, god tales, and just geniunely creative and good for entertaining children and parents alike. Kami has a real interest in the gods, so it isn't uncommon to see the queen setting in on stories of the gods and goddess' that roam Africa.
8 Nanny positions + 2 Storytelling nanny positions- Currently 5
~ Tai (storyteller)
~ Sheshe
~ Jini
~ Verdad
~ Katana'Kitsune
Historian - These lions keep track of and communicate the history of the lands. Their expertise lies in the actual prideland histories, including events, genelogy, and members. Sometimes they travel or pick up information on the history of other places too, but their knowledge of the pridelands is most important for future generations. As they age they have to pick apprentices to pass the information along to.
2 positions - Currently 1
~ Ausi'Juu
??? - A special title given to those who go above and beyond for the pride. How is something that varies, but it's basically a title awarding those that have been so giving and deserve recognition for their efforts and care. This cannot be applied for. It is something GIVEN.

Name of character: Jini
Why would they be good for this rank?: Because Jini loves kids. <3 He loves to play with them, he's sweet as honey, and while he's pretty relaxed as far as rules he never lets kids do anything that's dangerous or unwise.
Is there anyone ICly to vouge of their character and skills?: His aunt, Ausi? And Remove has a juve who he played with once when she was a cub. He watched her(pratically baby sitting) and played with her in the water while making sure she didn't go where it was too deep for her to swim.
If not are you willing to do a few rps with the queen to prove yourself?: I'd be willing to do them anyway. <33 *loves rp*

Name of character: Mastema
Why would they be good for this rank?: In general, the main thing Mastema would do is be a welcomer to the new members, because he loves meeting new people. Also, it would give him something to do during the day since really all he does is mess around. The sense of responsibility would be good for him now that he lost his parents and has no real friends to be with.
Is there anyone ICly to vouge of their character and skills?: I would think possibly Kami...but if not...
If not are you willing to do a few rps with the queen to prove yourself?: ...I am always willing to RP with the queen having Mastema ask her for some sort of duty!

Both Jini and Mastema are accepted. I know both the characters, and Ausi and her own judgement would be good enough to get them in.
@ FC - I think we should rp out that one. It can be short though. :3 Either him asking, or her offering.
And Ary, we can rp out the asking if you like, or just talk via pm over how we'd like the acceptance to occur. Him coming to ask, or perhaps Ausi or Tai suggesting him for the job, etc.

Name of character: Mosi
Why would they be good for this rank?: Mosi has always been the bold and outgoing type, growing up in a family where she was allowed to freely express herself and, for the most part, wander. She knows every nook and cranny of the Pridelands from her ventures as a juvenile and adolescent, even some of the land beyond the borders (Graveyards, Southlands). She keeps herself in top condition and has good leadership skills, as she's positive, encouraging, determined, strong, and with a very high endurance level and speed.
She is determined to help keep the lands safe, especially after what happened to her young Aunt Xu and the late King Mufasa. She loves being helpful as well, and would likely be found patrolling the borders and checking in on the scouts to make sure everything was running smoothly.
The exposure to so many others would be very good for her also, seeing as she's a very social lioness coming from such a very large family.
* Perhaps a special note of intrest is that Mosi is also a seer. She has flashes of the past, present, and future, usually induced by dreams, touch, or in the case of the present, sudden strong surges of emotion from others within a rather large range. I feel like this is a strong point since Mosi has been living with this gift since she turned juvinille, and knows how to use it to her advantage at present. This could be used to obvious advantage in an emergency situation, though for plot purposes is also not a 100% gurantee of sucess.
Is there anyone ICly to vouge of their character and skills?: Her grandparents: Daimyn and Ausi'juu, her brother: Jini, her mate: Juhudi, and her aunts or uncles: Tai, Xu Wu Hui, Jing'fei, Ai'kunliu. Her mother and father have already disbanded by this point.
If not are you willing to do a few rps with the queen to prove yourself?: Absolutely! If family isn't acceptable then I'd be glad to! <3
Do you understand the added responsibility?: Yes, it means that I'll need to be able to help lead, motivate, and maintain ocassional group RP's from time to time, and IC'ly it means that she'll have to answer to those above her to keep Kamilika and Ta informed of the going on's in the Pridelands, as well as the responsibility that she has to her scouts, the youth, and the new faces coming into the pridelands.

I think Mosi is a wonderful canidate for the head scout. (Funny that that whole family seems to be stepping up into so many roles. XD)
But yeah, I think her personality, her familarity of the land and alot of current members, and her seer qualities would all go very well with the task. :3
Seeing as it's one of the higher up positions I think we're going to need to do a rp to get it all settled out. Something along the lines of maybe her asking to be a scout, and Kami asking if she'd be interested in the higher job. 3nodding
But yes, Mosi accepted (pending rp) as well heart

Name of character: Verdad
Why would they be good for this rank?: Well, she's not very well versed in hunting. Her mother was laid back and didn't teach her skills like that. She was just pampered and loved by Tia. So, ICly, hunting isn't suited for her at all.
Since the hyena attack, she's matured a lot and has developed a more motherly quality and wants to keep everyone around her safe. It isn't in her nature to explore much anymore. There's a more protective side to her as well now that she's older. If someone threatened them then she would stand her ground.
Even with this ever growing maturity, she still hasn't quite grown out of being fun loving and sweet. In other words, she knows how to have fun. She can think up games to play, tell stories off the top of her head and wouldn't mind if the cubs wanted her to play with them. Verdad loves children since she loved her own childhood so much. Also, she doesn't mind being around hordes of them considering the amount of cubs that have been recently born into the Pridelands xD
Is there anyone ICly to vouge of their character and skills?: Probably Tiacapan and Aden but other than that,,,there's really no one ^^;
If not are you willing to do a few rps with the queen to prove yourself?:I wouldn't mind at all ^^
Do you understand the added responsibility? Yes. She is one of my characters that I'm always in the mood for rp for. Plus, she has no plans to leave the Pridelands if she were to be a nanny. She's there for life <3

@Iris: *lol* Yes, I'm pretty happy with it though, I've always seen their family as the type to be actively involved and dedicated to their home, not to mention I love the opprotunity to find placing for my characters that fits to them.
@Swampie: Would you be interested in setting up an RP with Tai and one of her boys sometime, perhaps consider a storyteller-friendship or apprenticeship, or something since Verdad can already make them up on the spot (and Tai is one of the storytellers already)?

We'll need to do a little rping or something. But it could be as simple as assuming she put in her request to Kami, and having Hadaya sneak after her to spy on her child watching skills and persona. Something silly XD Just so ICly they know she's up for the job, but yeah, accepted as well biggrin

Name of character: Jahzara
Why would they be good for this rank?: Jahzara was always a bit of a commanding presence, seeing herself a bit of a princess with her ties to royalty both prideland and firekin. Although she's been ill and is recovering at the moment, she still has the size and strength of both prides, and will use it accordingly. Now that she's grown up, Jazzy has settled from the "I'm royalty, treat me accordingly" personality and more into the frame of mind that she is who she is, and won't be pushed around easily. She'll likely be quite willing to take care of anything that may come along, without needing to run to Kami if someone or something gets out of line or control. Being head huntress, she'll be able to take the control her life needs, that she went without while being so ill for so long.
Is there anyone ICly to vouge of their character and skills?: Kami herself could likely be a good reference for her, seeing as they're family.
